Crochet Coaster with Picots - Step by Step Tutorial

How to crochet easy round coaster with picots step by step tutorial.
The coaster measures approx 15 cm (5,9'') in diameter.
Materials used:
Sport weight yarn. I used Drops Safran 100% cotton yarn, ball weight: 50g
length (approx): 160m.

sk - skip, sp. - space, st./sts - stitch / stitches, ch - chain, sl st. - slip stitch, sc - single crochet, dc - double crochet,
ch3picot - chain 3 picot - ch3, insert your hook into the center of the base stitch (or, into 3rd ch from hook), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

Kristine, this one is so cute & works up quickly. I really like the 2 chain up as opposed to doing the chain 3 as the first double crochet. It make the round look solid w/o that gap. Have already made 3 in different spring colors!! Thank you ... I'll need to try one of your lovely bag patterns, but am not sure where to get the yarn needed. ~ Judy in NC
