  • Reolink security cameras are a great choice for both homeowners and outdoorsmen. Cellular transmission of video by 4G now makes it feasible to monitor your home, hunting camp, food plot, etc., for security or pleasure. Reolink has changed the game and now has brought cellular video to the outdoorsman with their latest Reolink Go camera series. The Reolink Go series can be used anywhere there is a cellular signal, and with the addition of a solar panel to maintain the battery, it can be maintenance free.
    Reolink Go Plus (new model): amzn.to/3J0icTW
    Reolink Go Plus (old model): amzn.to/3rtbUq1
    EIoTClub Data Card: amzn.to/3urEUQZ
    In this video, I review the Reolink Go Plus. I customize it to make it more hunter friendly. I plan on moving this all around my farm to see how it performs. Here are a few features of this Reolink security camera:
    Reolink Go Plus:
    Smart 4MP 4G Battery Camera
    Person/Vehicle Detection
    2K 4MP Super HD
    Battery/Solar-Powered
    Night Vision
    Reolink Go Plus is a small-sized portable battery camera with 4G LTE. Bring it to any places, and you get person/vehicle detection, 33ft night vision*, two-way audio and more.
    New Smart Detection Tech - With the on-camera technology of analyzing person and vehicle shapes, Reolink Go Plus offers accurate detections, and thus greatly reduces the false alarms on trivial objects’ movements.
    Built-in mic & speaker - allow you to listen and talk back to whoever the camera catches in real time: a “hello” to friends or a “Get away!” to foes.
    2K 4MP Super HD - With 4-megapixel (2K) resolution, this battery camera produces sharp, clear footage for more visual details. Its infrared LEDs provides superior image quality for your nighttime recordings. Ideal for outdoor areas that aren’t always well-lit.
    Rechargeable Battery - No need to connect the camera to a power outlet, which may not be reachable. Just charge it with its battery and you can have it working for a long time.
    Solar Panel - This battery camera can also be connected to a Reolink solar panel for a non-stop power supply. It is easy to install and strongly weather resistant
    Time Lapse: Visualize the Passing of Time - Long-term events, like the flower blooming, are too long to be perceived in real time. Reolink Go Plus with time lapse is a good way to observe and record those events in minutes or seconds.
    Flexible Storage Option(s) - You can save your recordings locally to Micro SD card (up to 128GB). If you are worried about losing the storage devices, you can choose to store events in Reolink Cloud.
    Live View & Playback - Via free Reolink App or Client, you can click to check what’s going on with your home or business, and respond instantly; search the videos you saved, pinpoint which you want to review, and play it back.

    Nice, I am going to get one and the SD card for my cabin in Ontario Canada as I live here in Wisconsin. What did you attach the cover with and where did you attach it on the Reolink?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Před 2 lety +1

      You’ll separate the cam by unscrewing it from the base and then sandwich your hood between the cam and base when you put it back together. You’ll drill a hole in the back of the hood that will fit over the base bolt. Hope that helps! Good luck!

    The SIM cards that you use on your BIGFOOT Cell Cams might also work in that Camera!? Or their 4G SIM Card! Also, you didn't show how you attached the hood to the camera? Have you determined the best data plan?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Před 2 lety +1

      I kind of showed how the hood goes on at the end and mentioned info about the hole. You put the hood on first and then screw your camera on and it sandwiches the hood. Haven’t determined which plan is best yet because I dont know how much data the cam will use in the places I plan to use. I will have to experiment a little first.

    Is the camera motion activated or can you watch the camera anytime? Ready for part 2!

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Před 2 lety +1

      It does both! It will record when it detects motion and so far it’s very accurate with no false alarms from wind and shadows,etc. You can also hit live view in your app and watch live. You can hear through the app as well. I’m interested in trying this on my hog trap in an area where cell signal is not the best. We’ll see. Thanks for watching!

      @@TheHandyHunter I got mine and was about to give up and took it up to our ridge (where hog trap will be) and it worked! I discovered this camera needs at least three bars to connect. The Go PT has an external antenna and can operate with less bars. Let me know what your finding out. Oh, I made a Home Depot visor ;) Thanks for the idea!

      I got mine last year but haven’t set it up. The data plan doesn’t seem to offer much data. We have a ton of wildlife on our property, so there’s going to be a lot of activity and recordings.

  • @cpr-489
    @cpr-489 Před 2 lety

    Hows the data usage so far?
    I’ve been looking into doing this and adding one these cams to my box stand/food plot, but was hesitant do to unknown data used. I’ve been running one of my of cell cams on the unlimited yearly plan, 3 photo burst every 5 second, so kinda live. Lol
    By the way the guys on my lease thought, I was crazy building the battery boxes for my cell cams, that all change when I got close 8 months out mine without needing to change batteries. Its nothing to get thousand’s of photos a month on my stand/food plot cam mentioned above.

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Před 2 lety +1

      So far the data has been good but just experimenting around the house. Im impressed so far with no false alarms so that should save on data as well. True test will be at the farm. Which battery box did you build? If you build the solar/battery combo you won’t have to touch it for a few years! It works great! Thanks for sharing! Keep in touch👍

      My cam works great at home but not so good at the farm. I have little cell signal there and I just don’t think it can transmit video files. My cell cams work perfect. I’m going to try a different sim/carrier to see if that helps at the farm. It might be a trial and error period until I find the best one. Let me know what you find out.
