- We recently travelled with Felipe Gustavo down to his hometown of Brasilia, Brazil to film. It's been a story we've been wanting to tell since Felipe joined the DC team. For our latest Rediscover campaign featuring Felipe, we dug a little deeper than our previous efforts simply because his story hits even closer to home. Here's part 2 of 3.

It's truly amazing how much his father supported him in skating. My dad was the same way. The closest skatepark to where I grew up was an hour drive away and my dad would drive me there all the time. My dad also built me a lot of boxes and ramps to skate as well. I am really grateful that I grew up with a father who supported me in skating like Felipe's father did and I feel really bad for any one who has parents that don't support them in their passion for skateboarding.
Its so great that he remembered the date of his first board, is cant remember and I defiantly have not been skating as long as him, Felipe Gustavo is amazing

this is a super touching story. it shows his love for his parents and his passion for skateboarding. seeing him with his family made me tear up and made me so happy to see someone like him go from some lil dude in brazil to a huge skater internationally! i hope everyone gains something from that video! keep it up felipe!

I met this guys dad at my local town center. He spoke a different langauge (I think Spanish) and he saw me and my friends skating and asked us to do a kick flip to a crooked grind ( which was impossible for us) and he kept saying " my son Felipe Gustavo " and he showed us videos of him from his camera. It was cool. He was a proud father. You can tell.

i can't believe dc lets this kind of filming in their videos. i mean, cmon, stupid dslrs and stuff.. keep that shit for photography. "my lens has a maximum aperture of 1.2, well what the hell, i bought it to use that f1.2 so every footage must be at f1.2. " - that's the attitude that goes on today. it looks horrible.. i'm sorry, but it is what it is. dc has been one of the biggest and greatest things in skateboarding, so keep that greatness in all of the segments, not just team and shoes
