Love this... he's so fluid. Every drum note that he plays has a purpose.
This was so refreshing. As a worship drummer, in my opinion, we need more of this. I love his approach on the drums. How he builds and it doesn't sound the same. I think the most important thing as a drummer for God is to worship through your instrument verses performing. I believe that is the difference and people can feel that in your playing.
Hey man this was great! I’ve always wanted to get into the head and thought process of a drummer that’s on the frontline of worship drumming. I know this prob felt clunky to you but that’s what happens on your first time doing anything in a “classroom” setting. You have the passion for it and as a teacher myself I understand how the process of learning how you want to say things comes easier and smoother the more you do it. It’s like personalized speech patterns that you can use to explain anything when you get the hang of it. God bless.
Love Timmy! Thanks for this!
This is my kind of drummer. As a drummer I am completely agree in all that he said. Great drummer! Very creative, great technique but at the same time very simplistic when it comes to explaining what he executed.I don’t really like when some drummers started to be super technical and make things looks like what they are doing is some kind rocket Science.
I like the video, where you play for Memphis drum shop on Zildjian 19” Z3 Trash Ride Cymbal. But! Where is this video?! 🥲🥲🥲 I really want to see him again 🤞🏻
Why put almost five minutes of title at the beginning?
Yes middle rack tom, we can hear you chill
1:15 its a little odd to hear the drummer, of arguably the most popular christian artist... say worship music is repetative and boring, and that makes him sad.... I couldnt agree more, but its strange to hear a guy in charge of trend setting in a way say this. be the change you want to be comes to mind.
I think you misunderstood. Worship is simple so that even though the music is done in excellence, the focus can remain on actually worshipping rather than a drum performance. This is perfect for what it is trying to achieve. However, in your personal practice time, your goal is on improving your drumming ability as a whole (yes, learning the songs you need to learn is part of it, but I'm talking about the other parts). When improving your drumming ability, simple is NOT the goal. Imagine this: When you're on a race track, you're not gonna want to drive a mini van, but for long trips with an entire family, you aren't going to want to drive a race car. One's not better than the other, they just accomplish a different purpose.
@@chicagoandnorthwestern868 He is the drummer for chris tomlin, popularity sets the trend, so i guess God is the answer to your rhetorical question? if every popular artist started wearing leppard print... guess what, it would be "in". he is that popular artist that sets the trend.
@@Spladoinkal the idea that "worship" is simple really sucks... i dont accept that. Workship is an expression of our affection towards the father, delcaration, etc... it doesn't HAVE to be simple... it just has been made simple for white american churches... i only bring in race as i dont see this in my friends predominatley black churchs... seems to be a culture thing that i would very much like to see change. frankly its also this way so its "radio safe.. its not this way in different cultures... we are the culture setters as the worship teams in our own dominons... the idea that worship should be done in a certain way is silly... its like music theory we learn the rules... and then the last thing we learn is to break all the rules...same concept.I like race cars on road trips. :) sounds like a much more fun road trip. but hey each to their own.
@@Jessticks2319 You're thinking too far into it. If you WANT to make songs that are more complex, make them. Just make sure the main purpose of those songs is actually worship not a music jam under the guise of singing to Jesus. I only explained why many songs are simpler.
@@Spladoinkal you have the last word sir . Agree to disagree.
Bubble gum mic😅
he's aight
edit: camera work is terrible
