The truth will always come out eventually. When we presented the demos for our 2017 album „Swan Songs II“ to our record label Napalm Records, we also included a song called „Matt Bellamy“, Chris Harms’s profession of love to his idol, the singer from Muse.
However, Napalm Records rejected the song, saying „The music is okay, but the lyrics are silly. Instead of praising a big rock star, the song should cover the issue of self-reflection!“ So we heavy-heartedly rewrote the lyrics, which resulted in the song „My Better Me“ (see the official video here: • LORD OF THE LOST - My ... ). It’s not too bad either, but we thought it’s time for the whole truth nonetheless.
We proudly present the new LORD OF THE LOST video „Matt Bellamy“.
Please share this video as much as you possibly can, because it is our deepest wish for Matt Bellamy, to whom this song is dedicated, to see this piece of art himself.

Irgendwann kommt die Wahrheit immer ans Licht. Als wir für das 2017 erschienene Album „Swan Songs II“ unserem Label Napalm Records die Demos vorlegten, war auch ein Song namens „Matt Bellamy“ dabei, Chris Harms’ ganz persönliche Liebeserklärung an sein großes Vorbild, den Sänger von Muse.
Napalm Records lehnten das Demo mit dem Kommentar „Die Musik ist ganz nett, aber der Text ist albern. Anstatt einem großen Rockstar hinterherzurennen, sollte der Song eher ein wenig Selbstreflexion aufzeigen!“. Schweren Herzens haben wir dann den Text geändert, so entstand dann der Song „My Better Me“ (hier geht's zum offiziellen Video: • LORD OF THE LOST - My ... ). Der ist zwar auch nicht so übel geworden, aber wir denken, es ist jetzt einfach mal Zeit für die Wahrheit.

Mein Jugend Idol war, wie für viele andere wohl auch, Chester. Ich kenne dieses Gefühl, wenn man mit sich selbst nicht zufrieden ist und sein Leben eigentlich eher verflucht, weil man sich nie gut genug fühlt...
Mein Traum seit meiner Kindheit war es, zu singen. Mein Gesangsidol ist Floor Jansen - aber gleichzeitig möchte ich einfach nur ich selbst sein und niemanden kopieren, auch wenn ich wünschte, dass ich so singen könnte wie sie. Da mir aber immer wieder irgendwelche Steine in den Weg gelegt wurden, hatte ich nie die Möglichkeit, meinen Traum zu verwirklichen. Also habe ich versucht, ein normales Leben zu führen... Mittlerweile bin ich depressiv, aber in Heilung.
Liebe LOTLs - eure Songs gehen unter die Haut! "The Broken Ones" spricht mich dabei besonders stark an, aber auch die eigentliche Version von "My Better Me". Ihr gebt mir Kraft, durch eure Musik. Und Chris, deine Stimme ist unglaublich schön. Deine Persönlichkeit fasziniert (nicht nur mich).
Auch wenn es nur ein April-Scherz war: Wie könnte man wollen, dass du (oder ihr) jemand anderes bist/seid? Für mich die geilste Band in der Gothic-Szene! Freu mich auf München!
