Tears of dreams: just try to upgrade something you don't have enough materials for and it'll ask if you want to dip into the tears of dreams
1 tier of dream is equal to 1 of the green (lowest level) of the trace material - so if you use it to make a purple trace material it will equal 9 tears.
Mage: "I'd feel very uncomfortable calling her pretty"

Yes, silver wolf is one, if not the best, teammate for Acheron. All of her actions apply a debuff (even basic attacks) and her defense shred, albeit single target, is the highest in the game. This is very helpful especially in a wave of one elite with mobs. Acheron's crimson knot and SW's def shred can easily cheese out the elite mob.
Herta's puppets are apparently made to look like she did when she was younger. As far as I know, we haven't actually met the real Herta before, so who knows what she actually looks like

Arlan is just in an unfortunate situation - apparently in the game's beta, Arlan was very strong. But with changes, by the game's launch, Arlan ended up being one of the harder units to build around and even harder to justify building due to lower damage numbers. Not to mention, with Jing Yuan's release in 1.0 and Kafka's release in 1.2, he got outscaled very quickly as a damage dealer. Didn't help that he got very little screentime, and most of it during the tutorial where we're processing a lot of other information simultaneously.

Those Tears can be used when you try to upgrade a trace but don't have enough specific materials. If you have enough Tears of Dreams it will offer to use those when you click to upgrade a trace. They can also be used in a similar way when ascending light cones
Memory bubbles are basically like short science fiction stories. To be able to activate them you need to talk to a specific Herta puppet somewhere on the station, she will explain how to use them. I think she is chilling in the Storage zone somewhere.
Man, Screwllum is the best. I really hope he becomes playable someday.
In case you didn't catch Silver Wolf's skill, her weakness implant enables her to implant an ELEMENTAL WEAKNESS from one of your team into the enemy (if they didn't have that weakness). So if you're fighting a boss with Fire, Quantum, and Physical weaknesses and you have Acheron in your team, you can use Silver Wolf to put Lightning Weakness on to the boss, making it have FIre, Quantum, Physycal, AND Lighting weaknesses.
funny how his Silver Wolf missed two weakness implants in a row lol how much effect hit rate she got in that quest?

Most of your interactions with Asta will come from initially talking to other people on the space station; she's basically holding everybody together. Almost every single minor quest there (including a few things that aren't as blatantly obvious as quests, like attempting to locate and identify the office you will never see Asta using) will end up involving her. Do enough and you will start getting invited to temporary group chats that get formed either to address oncoming problems the space station will be dealing with or to vent about Asta: either way there are good odds either she initially created the group chat or was invited as an anonymous member. She does not know everybody's secrets (there are nosier people around), but knows everybody in general and has a good grasp on the basic social issues space station life causes, how people deal with it, and how to tell if somebody on the space station is behaving irrationally.
I thought i'd write out a comment explaining some of the jargon and slang commonly used in the Star Rail community, just so you are able to understand some of it.
CC: (short for crow control) This is the family of debuffs that prevent a character from acting, being Freeze, Imprison, and Entangle.
Cleanse: any skill or ability that a Unit has that can remove 1 debuff (it prioritizes CC debuffs)
Strip: any ability that can remove an Enemy Buff
E0-6/S0-6: E means how many Eidolons your character has, and S0 means without their Signature Lightcone. S1 measn you have their Signature Cone, and and number above that has to do with its Superimposition.

You're right. Silver Wolf is one of the best teammates for Acheron. She is Nihility, and she applies debuffs. When I use Acheron I typically put Silver Wolf and Pela in the team besides her, and this composition works really well.
Herta and Screwllum are two of my favorite characters in the game, every interaction we've been able to have with them has been amazing and unique.
Screwllum's answer about the meaning behind the universe is actually something I've adjusted and used for someone irl. You may be surprised how profound such a simple statement is to so many grown people.
Companion missions are a part of the main narrative. Game expects you to know what happened during those quests as you progress through the story. You meet characters for the first time, important things happen, and a lot of context is explained. Specifically the next planet ties a bunch of loose ends through companion missions.
By the way mage, there is an achievement for talking to every herta doll in the space station. Also when you interact with the rating pistol every character has a different score for them and the character called jingliu has an achievement for interacting with the rating pistol
Also about Clara, she is a dps which wants to get hit as much as possible and the enemies not to get broken since highest part of her damage comes from her follow ups. Speed buffs are wasted and bad for her and she would rather use atk boots and stack lots of atk on her.
Hanya and Asta are bad for her as they have lots of speed buffs, Claras best buffer is tingyung and the other teammate is pela as she does defense reduction. Lynx is really good for her as lynx increases taunt value of destruction characters and makes Clara get hit more.
Also about her kit, when clara hits an enemy with a follow up she marks it with a mark which increases the physical damage dealt against that enemy. When you use her skill she removes those marks so spamming her basic attacks are better than skill when not needed. Her trace level up priority is Talent > Ultimate > Basic attack > Skill.
Tingyung is her best buffer as she fills 50 energy for her and Clara is a dps which wants to always have up time on their ultimate effect which lasts 2 follow up attacks. Relic main stats she wants would be: Body; Crit damage or Rate, Boots: Atk, Orb: Physical or Atk (whichever has better sub stats), Rope: Atk. And as you know hands and hat always have the same main stats
dang SW companion mission, i really love her, always add her on my team especially with acheron now
You can actually examine the curios on display, and the game gives amusing descriptions. Also, among them there are a few Easter eggs: default wind glider from Genshin, Himeko's shattered blade from Honkai Impact 3rd, house of cards from Tears of Themis (I haven't played that one, so I have no idea about its significance to the lore). Fun fact: if you examine the shattered blade as Himeko you get alternate description (even though she isn't the same Himeko as the one whose blade it was).
I'd like to see you play through the main story, but I absolutely LOVE to see you play companion missions. A lot of them are simply great, and some of them are quite important for the future plot. So yeah, can't wait to see more.
Screwllum does have a magnificent design. And a really sweet personality. Will always love this quest for introducing such a cool character. And this quest made me love Herta even more than before.
Also all of those Silver Mouse jokes were great, enjoyed every one of them.
The companion quests are some of my favorites. Be sure to check in on the Express after you do them :)
Some people don't do companion missions at all or skip them for later (after going to next planets) but honestly they are meant to be done alongside main missions on certain locations to fill you with a background story of characters and places. Don't worry they are not boring at all. Some of them are more chill, some of them have huge lore drops. All of them are worth doing anyway and I enjoy seeing your reactions to the plot.
Just a news for you. This week on Friday around 12/13 EU time there will be livestream introducing upcoming 2.2 update. Probably too many spoilers from the latest mission for you to watch but remember there will be redemption codes to claim 300 jades and other goodies only valid for a few hours (usually it's less then 24h). However they will introduce how new banners will look like including what specific 4* they will have (with Robin and Boothill). Also this week there are new characters drip marketing. Roughly 2 months before official release, Hoyo posts an introduction to upcoming characters on their social media. One was already posted today (however it's GIGANTIC story spoiler to be honest and if you come across it it's really a pity bc it was a major plot twist... A lot of people got spoiled about it even before the main mission was released by some random leaks that people kept spreading around in their Twitch chats so do be careful!).
However there are predictions who they might introduce tomorrow and on Thursday (1 character per day) and Screwllum is actually one of the predictions 🎉🎉 Love him as a character, Genius Society members are interesting and unique in the story. Well we will see tomorrow and on Thursday whether or not Screwllum will join us soon!

The side quests are the interesting part. More background story is always nice plus you get to see how the characters interact with each other more.
Fun fact, the trailblazer bat are one of the Herta missing curio, we don't know what it does but it's going to be important I'm sure.
you can see Screwlum portrait is different than the one we meet, maybe that would be the 5* version of him, they definitely reserved a 5* version of Herta because lore wise we never see the real herta only her proxy

Also Mage, you know you can use the rating pistol. I thought you'd at least try it once after so much build up from others but I was wrong. Anyway, the gun rates whoever you have active. You get an achievement if you can find the highest rated character

Yeah, The TrailBlaze Mission(the Main story), Companion Quests, Etc, Takes Mostly 1-2 Hours To Complete, The Newest Trailblaze Mission taking 6-8 hours to complete without stopping... So you'll have a wild ride with each quests
Nice, I love this quest. Silver Wolf and the Genius Society are some of my favorite characters. Also you noticed that her hair also twirls like Bronya's it's cause she is her. She's based off an alternate universe variant of Bronya!
Also late congrats on pulling Clara! As a day 1 Clara main, she's been one of my favorite characters to use in all types of content.

Unironically a great team.
Much of the endgame is focused around having 1 Sustain (Healer/Shielder), 2 Damage amplifiers (Harmony/Nihility) and your choice of damage dealer. Which is exactly what you stuffed in there.
Lynx is also the most 'Clara'-friendly support. Increasing Clara's taunt value to make her get hit more.
The only downside of this team is that Clara doesn't want too much speed- something which Hanya and Asta give out lots of. But hey, they still make her hit harder than several hundred trucks, anyway.
as a small note in case someone hasn't mentioned it - since you're getting so many servals, haha - once you have a character at E6 and you pull them, you get starglitter exactly equal to one ticket in the star glitter store. You can trade it for a ticket to get another pull, or save it to buy anything in that store.

The Punklorde hackers (and Aha, if his real version is as perceptive as his Simulated Universe copy) are probably among the few people in SR that know they're living in a literal video game. I love how meta that is.

As much as I want to see you get Aventurine, because he's such a good character, better save up those Jades because the next few characters without spoiling are a fun bunch
For assignments it’s best to do the exp and credits and also for the fourth option the crafting materials on the very bottom. Those materials are for the technique point packs for Acheron . Love the series man 🫶
There is a very important Orange mission that unlocks on the space station after progressing the story a little bit. You don't have to go to the next planet for it yet. It unlocks Acheron's trace.
Im not sure if people have mentioned(And I cannot actually confirm this or not) but apparently Position 1 is more likely to be attacked so having your "Tank" in that spot means they will probably be hit more. So having Fire MC or Clara in there would make them be targeted more.
I was screaming at the screen, "Talk to the rating pistol, talk to the rating pistol!" as you were teasing me by approaching it and making the interact prompt appear multiple times, only to then run away without using it.
The tears will just automatically prompt you if you want to use them if you are short on the trace materials. They will work for Light Cone upgrades as well. Oh I LIKE Arlan, his "hate" comes mostly from people either find him a) boring or b) his kit is.. pretty bad. But I like him well enough as a character, even if he is pretty straightforward, but he is one of the few I haven't leveled up.
Random bit of info: Serval, Gepard and Lynx are all siblings! Also, they're all named after cats hehe

I dunno which Star Ocean games you have played but whenever I play Simulated Universe, it always reminds me of Star Ocean 3's plot. With how meta HSR is at times, it's very possible that it takes a similar route.

Those special trace materials you get from the BP can be used when you have insufficient trace materials for a chracater. For example you need 6 to upgrade someone but you don’t have enough, then it shows you the option to use those
About Hook's companion quest (the one with Julian asking you for help): The quest is actually in 2 parts. So it's basically just 2 short (half an hour each) quests. Feel free to organise the next episodes using this info.
Personally, i believe advancing the main story is gonna be better, especially since the game doesn't exactly care about spoilers lol. Just do the main story when you have time or feel like it, and in days where you can't bring yourself to play through it, or don't have enough time, do some companion quests.
Besides, the game itself has a timeline that you can check from the quest menu, so you don't have to worry about getting confused.

Some quests have a lot of misdirections that makes them complicated to understand as you read. Only at the end you can really grasp what they wanted to do. This only gets harder as the story progresses, I dare say I might not understand even half of the plot for the planet we're currently in (Penacony)... 😧

I think you learn a lot about the world and side characters by doing side quests. Theres only a few I've not done so far, primarily ones that have several phases of the same task. So do as many as you want!

As much as i want you to catch up on the story, please don't rush and just do quests that you feel like doing. I love this kind of gameplay so far, coz back then i literally speed run the game in fomo, and i end up missing all the fun things on some quests. Love the vid as always!!!
I hope arlan would have his redemption arc something (story quest or even 5 star upgrade maybe????) i feel bad a lot people are benching him (as a playable character)
Slowly watching your content after some break, 13 episods missing :0 . I don't know if you still like Clara, but yeah she's one of my favourite, I like her gameplay a lot
you can't toggle battle speed during ultimate (maybe all?) animations; just wait until your turn and it should always work during that idle time
and fun side note: Silver Wolf's ult dialogue changes with the game speed (she's either bored that her rhythm game is too easy or excited to play on double time)
oh I know, but I've definitely had instances when it wouldn't let me use a skill or change speed during idle, weird!

Oh, don't worry about your pacing. Most character stories are pretty good. If they are not traumatizing, then they are cute or funny, and it's a great way to get to know characters. Some character stories are extremely important, though. For example on the next planet most of them are must do because for some reason Hoyo took a chunk out of the main story and split it into several character quests and even a couple of blue quests. And without them the whole thing will be very confusing and Fate's atlas won't be helping you with figuring the correct order. I'll try my best to keep up with your playthrough and point out when and what to start if you are interested, of course.

I would recommend doing the rest of the Belabog companion missions before going to the next planet, but it's not a big deal if you do them later.
I disagree. I think it would be better if he does them whenever he likes so that there's always a reason to come back to Belabog instead of it becoming just a planet with nothing to do.
@@xldxir Doing them whenever he wants to is the biggest priority, but there is always more to do in Belabog; be it trailblaze continuance missions, secondary blue quests, secret quests that don't have markers, exploration, and the numerous events (both old and new that we will surely get) like the boxing or the museum one

Leveling characters is really ok (till 60), since u get free tickets, but I strongly advice not to waste materials on traces, especially on Dan Heng. Better use the same materials for Dr.Ratio, they r both hunt characters and Ratio is follow-up attack power house at the moment (very similar to Acheron, he loves debuffs on enemies), he is great if u dont have DHIL and if u want to wrestle end game at some point Dr.Ratio>Dan Heng, Most of the wind weak bosses r also weak to imaginary or lightning (Dr.Ratio and Acheron can cover that)
I just don't really find Dr Ratio that cool visually, so i've no current plans to use him!
@@magemasher22 Good for you. He IS strong, but you can't go wrong with using characters you like over characters that are "meta". I can't speak for everyone, obviously, but I personally have more fun using characters I care about over characters that are simply "the strongest".

I would have liked if you could have read all the dialogue, one even has like what Screwlum thinks of you, that said, I would do the other companion missions, because each area has some, and not only that, but new ones spawn in old areas after doing more, if you think you have too much to do you have NO IDEA how many quests you can spawn and Nat's as well as Serval's, Hook's and Clara's have part 2 and they need you to do part 1 and wait until next daily reset to get part 2 to spawn...
I'm just going to do them as and when i feel like it, I'm in no way gonna be able to do and see EVERYTHING in the game haha but I'm having fun
