- Hey everybody! We have more lucky bags to open and this time we are opening food lucky bags. There's no food in the lucky bags but they are lucky bags from popular food places here in Japan.

Wow the donut one is great value if you get 30 $1.60 donuts for $30, you’re saving $18 plus getting all the extra goodies! Wish we had these in the UK!

It's only one Arch because originally McDonald's only had one Arch.
Chrissi L It’s called the Golden Arches, two arches. There were one arch each side of the McDonald’s buildings. The M, looks like two arches, that’s why it’s called the Golden Arches, plural.
@@JMarieCAlove I took me 2 seconds of googling to know that the term, "Golden Arches" wasn't introduced til 1953, and wasn't replaced as the logo until 1962. "The original mascot of McDonald's was a chef hat on top of a hamburger who was referred to as "Speedee". In 1962, the Golden Arches replaced Speedee as the universal mascot."
Whereas Chrissi said that it was only one arch, it was actually the Speedee mascot that would be in front of one arch (as seen on the tote), and the second arch would be across to it, on the opposite side of the roof. It also took like 2 seconds to google it (see: old mcdonalds on google image).

I'm pretty sure it's only a single arch because the original logo/arch was that way and not because of their collab. Either way, still super cool!
I googled Carl's Jr Japan menu and guessing what sandwich and size of fries and drink are allowed on the coupon, I came up with 4650 yen for all 3 combo tickets. Assuming tax would be applied and covered by the coupons then there is your 5000 yen. The Famous Star is 560 yen. So you got probably 2000 yen and the little holder free. Not too bad but when you are use to more through merchandise items it does seem a little lacking. I think the plastic wallet you got with the coupons could make a nice coupon keeper for a lot of coupons.
PS these figures are just estimates based on the website prices and my assumption of additional tax.

I like the McD timer. In the US they don't make much merchandise probably because of strict laws on fast food promotions/advertisements.
The first Pokemon blanket you opened was my favorite, but everything you opened was cool! 💙
I'm gonna need a video on the downside to living in Japan. Everything you do makes it look so good, there must be negatives (other than car park charges!). I wish I could afford to fly out for a few weeks to see it all for myself. 🙂🐸
To me the downside was how crowded it was in Tokyo. It's why I liked northern Japan much better. It was green and open but less to do and you travel farther to get to things. Like anything else, once you're used to everything, it's much easier.
This is very true, Leslie! I forgot because like Nancy, I lived on military base. I worked and was “paid to live there”, pretty much. I could afford a lot more. Everything is very expensive. Although it is very close, the exchange rate was around 100 yen = .90 on average. Very, very good point!
Good advice, thanks guys. One friend of mine visited for work last year, he spent a lot of time in meetings and came home complaining that all he ever saw from the train windows was concrete! I know that further out of the cities is beautiful but there's no telling some people!

Meh....the only one I liked was the Mister Donut.
The Mc Donalds was so-so.
Hardees is expensive here too. That's why my family don't eat there often. A family of 5 eating there is atleast 50 bucks a pop.

It is still not free. you pay for stuff that you normally wouldn't have bought. It's like saying you saved money by getting discount candy that we have at the check out in the supermarket. with coupons it's even worse because these places make sure you will spend more for getting food there. and you get discounts on merchandise stuff that are never 100% worth it. Something is only free if you put your money in stocks and/ or savings and you got extra money from the bank because of interest rates and if you already wanted to get something and you get something extra with it. i think that is what Amy meant.

So a Japanese couple moved to California way back when ( not sure) and the wife loved donuts and never had one til they came to America so the husband opened up a donut shop and it is called mr. donut they are located in Glendora California saw it on food network

With the items in the McDonald's and Baskin Robin's Lucky Bags, they're essentially buying ad space in your house and among your belongings...

Carl’s Jr. would give you the worms. I gotten worms from the Carl’s Jr.’s that’s at Santa Treasa Square on Barnel Rd and Santa Treasa Blvd twice as a teenager. I grew up in the Baldwin Elementary School neighborhood because my mother a school bus driver for Oak Grove School District for years and she now retired after nearly 3 decades.

The original McDonald's sign only had one arch, so the design on the bag and towel are meant to reference that.
3 of those free combo tickets, if you get the most expensive sandwich on the menu, saved you ~$25 alone. So it’s a good deal for sure! Take it from a Hardee’s employee.
Side note, not sure if the coupons will work how they do here, but you may be able to get two discounts per coupon, which would make the $50 value make sense.

Not a fan of the mcdonalds one this year the nico design is very plain and boring but I do get they are trying to do a original mcdonalds design but it could of been a lot better.
