The first single, “Matter + Time”, from Numa Gama’s up-and-coming album, A Spectral Turn, channels inspiration from Donna Haraway’s seminal post-human feminist essay “A Cyborg Manifesto”. Emerging amidst textured ambient layers and nuanced IDM syncopated rhythms, Numa Gama's voice embodies a distinct hybrid of human and machine, narrating the transformative coming-of-age stories of a cyborg trans-woman.
The first-ever collaboration between a Brazillian artist and Beijing label, bié Records, through which the album will be digitally and physically released on Jan. 31st, 2024.
