Here's a more subtle version of the tune, as promised last year. Take a good look at the picture from the RE3Make trailer. The TV is running, so electricity is obviously there, and still Jill uses a lantern in the window. Any theories? Here's mine: Jill took that lantern from one of the Spencer Mansion's save rooms as a little souvenir.
Probably the same reason I use candles. It feels better.

@@SurvivalSpheres I don't know. Using the a lantern from the Spencer estate sounds like a good way to give yourself PTSD. Maybe she has it just incase the power goes out in her neighborhood.

As a fan of the series since 96, this is very, very well done! It captures the atmosphere expertly between the sound effects, the haunting synth and ominous scene of Jill in her apartment moments before Nemesis arrives.

I recently saw the new trailer, and it made me excited. As for my ideas, I am now thinking about more ideas on how a horror game with a humanoid bird will play out, even going as far as to create a new where the main character uses blue flames.
Edit: Also, on both games, lanterns are your only source of light, there is limited fuel for them, and most of the places are pretty dark.

Damn, this hits hard knowing how much potential was wasted with the remake. "If they only had the courage to use the source material", this would've been a smashing hit!
The books are seriously haunting and provide soooo much material, it would've made a brilliant horror game, but no use feeling remoursefull at this point....
New Resident Evil Save Room Music you are a really good composer and I dig this remix I picture Jill taking cover from Nemesis in a dark room only illuminated by the flame of a lighter, like how Claire's lighter lit those dark rooms on Code: Veronica X

Is it weird to give another feedback over a year after my original comment?
Just wanted to share this: I love the "Free from fear" version from the RE3 remake. Didn't play the original game, I know the original music, I'm just used to the remake version now.
BUT even though I think the song is perfect for the remake... I absolutely adore this version of the song right here. It indeed is more subtle and calm than the ingame version(s).
I wouldn't replace the ingame music by any means but if I had to choose which one I would like to listen to outside of the game just to relax... it would 100 % be this one.
Nothing is weird in our worlds :)

You know what, I've almost decided to put all covers out there as well. I've always been hesitant due to potential rights issues, but on Spotify there are all kinds of covers with millions upon millions of plays... and nobody seems to care. Maybe a small fish like me doesn't need to worry for earning 10 cents more per month without harming anymore financially. What do you think?
