Suspend Fishing Summer Catfish (NOT ALWAYS Bottom Feeders)

- This is one of the most important lessons you can learn about catching catfish. I headed out on a super hot summer day with hot water temps to catch some channel catfish. I found these summer channel catfish suspended in deep water feeding way up in the water column and off the bottom despite the fact there were tons of catfish on my fish finder on the bottom of the lake I was catching fish 10-16 feet up of the bottom.
Many people misunderstand catfish and think they're just bottom feeders and only feed at or near the bottom of the lake or river and that's wrong. They'll feed anywhere in the water column that they find food even on the top of the water or just below it.
In this week's video, I walk through some important tips on locating and catching summer catfish or when catfish are suspended and how you can load the boat and catch tons more fish.

Does that CJs stay on a bare treble for awhile? I use sonnys (now triple s) and it seems that if I don’t get a bite in 10-15 minutes I need to re-bait.
