"beautiful, pleasant, well rounded", but entry level" ... For me, it's the same as with cigars, watches etc: It doesn't always have to be a expensive Davidoff or a Patek. For me, the perfect summer whiskey with a freshly squeezed orange juice. Gentle but effective ;). And by the way, I find the design of the bottle, the label (and also the closure, compared to for ex. the "Nikka from the barrel") very cool. Conclusion: You get what you see and you will love it ! Cheers

Great review and great industry information, as usual. Thanks, Ben.

Quite a light refreshing whisky this one, very inoffensive, almost like it's made as an entry level whisky. Probably good to share with someone that hasn't tried whisky before. Pretty good price on this too so you wouldnt mind sharing it around!

Very floral and light whisky. I have a bottle since January - it is easy to drink and is good for every day dram. A good start if you are going to make a few more drams from other distilleries. ;)

I didn't see it here locally, I'll have to ask for it and give it a try.

The founder, Mr. Taketsuru married Lita, a Scottish lady when he studied whisky in Scotland. She was a local person, introduced by Lita's sister who studied at the same university as Mr. Taketsuru attended.

Very very long after taste...it burns your mouth....it must be the peat....
    Nose very nice smooth indeed.
Taste....strong, citrusy, sweetish but not something special. and it feels like it reminds me something of an irish. I dont know, but thats what im getting. It has that triple distilled feeling in it.

Japanese whiskeys have never impressed me but hey, not every culture can be great at everything! I drive a Japanese car though and I love it. Haha
