A little story for you that I wrote.
I look through the fridge looking for some ham for my sandwich. My guy best friend was tucking in a baby I had, but the man who had blessed me with the kid had ran away the next day. It hadnt hurt. But it was hard taking care of the baby. He was just 2 months old. I place mayonnaise onto a slice of bread. I had low hopes of finding a man to help me raise him and who would marry a woman who had a child. My guy best friend had decided to live with me and help. I feel a hand on my hand as I realize that I had my hand on an open knife. A butter knife. My guy best friend looks down at me. I turn to look at him.
"Did he finally fall asleep?" I ask as I grab the knife gently spreading the mayonnaise.
He smirks taking the knife from my hand and spreading it himself. "Yeah, I just talked him to sleep."
"How did you do that?" I take the knife back and throw it in the sink.
He chuckles softly. "I said a few things."
"You better not have cussed around him or so help me-"
He laughs a bit louder. "No, just..." he brings his hand to my cheek. "Just describing the girl in front of me as a princess."
My cheeks heat up. "A princess?"
He looks at my lips then to my eyes. "A Goddess."
I smile slowly. "That would bore me to be completely honest."
He has a straight face now. He narrows his eyes.
"Im joking. You know though. Id love to hear it all word for word." I pick my sandwich up but he takes a bite out of it. I pinch his arm.
"That is mine!" I sneer.
"And you are mine." He wraps his arms around my waist. "You still got a little baby bump, its cute."
And this. Was the first time I knew I had fallen for someone without touching and making out. My lips curved up. "Youll regret your decision."
"I doubt it. I made it 7 years ago."
I kiss him gently as we stand there. The sandwich dropping from my hands hitting the table then the floor. My hands grasp his hair gently.
