- The Story of Aaron Livesy from Itv's soap opera Emmerdale.
Synopsis: On edge, a furious Chas tells Paddy it's his fault that Aaron tried to kill himself. The pair argue, before Cain intervenes them. As he does, Cain's stunned when Chas reveals that Aaron is gay.
At Aaron's bedside, Paddy refuses to accept responsibility for the suicide attempt but when Chas forces him to leave, Paddy's wracked with guilt. Will Aaron wake up and blame Paddy?
Also, the news of Aaron's suicide attempt has spread through the village and speculation is rife at why he would want to end his life.

........Once again, superb acting throughout......but specifically in this clip, Lucy Pargeter's performance, especially where she 'lets rip' in the last scene, ending with that final 'GET OUT!' Amazing. The actors are really pulling out all the stops for this storyline, and it shows...keep up the great work, all you guys at Emmerdale. Thanks.
The only thing I liked about his uncle is he telling how wrong Chas is.
@ciernun Tell me about it Chas is such a bad mum and blaming it on paddy isnt fair, hes brought aaron up more than chas did!
Wow, one of the many glaring problems i see with Chas is that saying you're his mom and actuallly being his mom are two very different things. Saying it repeatedly in the shrill voice of a self-centered cow doesn't make it so.
Lucy Pargeter is doing a brilliant job as Chas!! Most watchers loathe her!

Medically (in real life) there is no reason to think that Aaron will recover. He could die or live the rest of his life in a vegetative state. Chas's screaming and the ugly things she's saying over his bed diminish his chances. I'm surprised the staff haven't whisked her away. Of course, our hopes and the future of the show point toward Aaron's slow recovery. It's going to be very interesting to see what he does, if and when he recovers. I just ache to see Aaron become strong, kind, and happy!

I wonder if anyone has thought about contacting Jackson about Aaron's suicide attempt? Duh...
I would have thought that Paddy would have got in touch with him somehow. The writers are making a HUGE mistake if Jackson is not informed!
Even just lying there Danny Miller can still out act them all. Hopefully the writers know that while the ride so far has been thrilling and necessary, a lot of us would just switch off and head back to Germany, if Aaron doesn't pull through and get the chance to do boring things like falling in love, getting a mortgage and flirt with infidelity - just like everyone else.

When Aaron wakes up all he's going to want is Paddy, and he'll hate his mom for driving him away. It's so heart breaking for such a nice guy to be beaten up on by that monster of a mother! How were these two ever together?! I'm sure there was abuse, emotional, for the longest time. Poor paddy....

@frozenbaby2004 Yes, I'm sure you noticed her homophobic remark to Paddy about how Aaron might not have been gay, if ... I just hope Aaron continues to have as little to do with her as possible.
Thank you Cain! Tell that selfish slag she wasn't around when the going got rough. Left it up to Paddy. Now she's " I'm his mum' she doesn't know him. Paddy his been through hell and back for Aaron. Where the hell was she? Aaron knew what type of mum he had too, hence the fact he didn't want her to know about him.

@BikingWithColdWater I think we're saying similar things with very different wording. When I say Chas is not "a bad person," I'm making a distinction between immoral or evil vs. immature and unskillful. Because she is so self-centered, she does bad things (acts unskillfully) and creates suffering for herself and the people around her. I think we agree that she does this.

@alwaysuseless Parents need to get - in the coming out process, it is NOT about them, but their sons and daughters. Their kids feelings and resolutions. Simply birthing a child doesn't mean you have control their life's. They are fresh, new individuals with there own dreams and aspirations.
Many times parents do MORE damage than healing - because they DON'T listen with "clean" ears. They hear what they want to hear, and what THEY (the parents) want to become - a LEGACY.

@HigherC Agreed. I suspect the writers will give us some growth in Aaron's character, whatever that might be. We know that change usually occurs at a glacial pace on this show, and in that respect the story may be truer to real life than real life, so to speak. Most of what I ache for Aaron to have and be could take years, if it happens at all.
Can someone post the interview with Danny Miller? Those of us outside of the UK (like here in the States) can't view it on ITV's site because of the regional restrictions. I would very much like to hear what the actor has to say about his character and about this important storyline.

@dutchnukelover Chas is not being protective of anyone or anything except her own ego. She doesn't really care about anyone but herself. She is the sorriest excuse of a mother. According to her, when they found Aaron, his suicide attempt was something he did to her, and now it's something Paddy did to Aaron. We are being shown a very ugly side of her character. Oblivious to but driven by her own guilt, she lashes out with a vicious self-centeredness.
Does anyone have the interview with Danny, that they are talking about at the end? Please Please Please

@JuggernautRF Chas is not a bad person, but she is emotionally and spiritually stunted. Genuinely caring about anyone but herself is an experiment she hasn't had much interest in trying. Of course, there are reasons for that. There always are.

@frozenbaby2004 Exactly! People don't realize that what they say and the energy they put out can affect someone in a coma. Per usual, Chas is doing the worst thing she can to her son. I doubt that knowing this would even have much effect on her self-centered behavior. And thank God if and when he comes out of this, she can't legally force herself on her biological son!
Chas want to be the cneter of attention. Yelling and saying you're his mother over and over again doesn't make it true. yes you gave brith to Aaron, but it's Paddy who has been a parent to him. This is a prime example of why Aaron chose Paddy over her.
