The Last Good Day

Somewhere around March 1st, 2013, Miss Shayla-Shayla was sitting in the window, enjoying the warm day and fresh air. She was a very, very shy little cat, and never had any desire to leave her nice, safe house, but she did like to look out the window and observe the world from a safe distance. At this point she was already extremely sick, but on this day it seemed like she still felt more or less okay. Even though she held on for another week or so, her health failed pretty quickly after this, and she died on March 10, 2013.
But on this day, it was fine. The sun was warm, and the breeze was fresh and smelled good, and there were interesting things outside to watch.
This was a good day.
This was my Shayla-Shayla, who I'll never forget.
