I thought I was the only one who used nylon twine to secure my bands LOL. I use tabs as well ,but sense I don't shoot with tubes . I attach my tabs the opposite way you do ,but I never have to worry about friction ,because band is tied to the tab with nylon twine so my bands are always above. The fork ends and I never look my bands really!

Not sure where "gypsy tabs" comes from ... certainly "rabbit ears" is ethnically more neutral. Ah, yes ... shoe tongues. That was a major source for leather for pouches when I was a lad. Hope you are still shooting.

Did you just tie the bands with an overhand Knot, to firm the 1/2 double tubes?

+Steve Brettell Yes, that's right. Just a simple, overhand knot does a good job ... easy to do and holds without slipping.
      Cheers .... Charles

Thanks. I last made a slingshot in 1963. Cut it out of plywood, and used under tube rubber bands. Not high performance.
It took us the longest time to figure out how to attach the last end of the band (2 for the pouch, and 2 for the prongs) We got three hooked up, but the fourth really threw us.
Thanks for the videos. Great help and an interesting voice, for a You Tube change.

+Steve Brettell Well, these days we have a lot more choices for band material. Give it a try ... it is still just as much fun as it was in 1963!!
      Cheers .... Charles

Steve Brettell was learning from men your age in the 80's and blessed enough to still be learning from y'all. Thanks a bunch, sirs.
Bye the way there was not many band chkices in 80's either. Times are good to us slingers.
