Tomoa is 5'7'' - 170cm Meichi is 6'2'' - 190cm SORRY YA'LL METRIC SYSTEM IS HARD WHEN YOU'RE AN AMERICAN LOL. Feel free to roast me on my instagram instagram.com/professorok/
I really liked the "what makes Nathaniel Coleman so good?" video, I think a "what makes Adam Ondra so good?" and a "what makes tomoa narasaki so good?" would be great. I'd also love an outdoor beta break video based on Drew Rauna, particular his ascent of "creature from the black lagoon" where he managed to skip an infamous kneebar - that would be dope too. Love your videos man!
Thanks so much for watching the other videos I have, I definitely have some videos lined up for those athletes in the future. I just moved across state lines so I've been pretty busy but I'll work on those videos in the future!
What an absolute beast, and he has such a fantastic brother to look up to and learn from! These guys will keep going far! I hadn't heard of Meichi until now, can't wait to see him crush international podiums.
can we find a beta break from a famous outdoor climb where there is a generally accepted beta? for example has someone found a way to static rainbow rocket? or dyno a famous slab problem?
Shout out for the tall peeps! Always interesting to see a video break down how to use height to your advantage. That slow transition and jump at the end was awesome.
Love this video! As a tall climber (6'3"), some will attribute my successes to my height/wingspan. In reality, having a taller/longer body composition forces longer people to climb in unique ways to the styles of traditionally sized climbers, and very often can have limitations. I find myself having to get very creative with my footwork and body position/tension (particularly when the terrain gets very overhanging) and trying to find new beta when faced with a sequence that's too scrunched for my body to fit in. Thanks for not saying, "he's just really tall!"
Yeah, I'm 6'7" and it has its ups and downs. Often I can skip holds, which is great, but I can get really stuck trying to deal with a tight space. Sometimes I just literally can't move out of a position to the next hold if I follow the intended beta.
5:51 - if it counts, the Narasaki brothers were in the combined finals at the 2019 World Championships in Hachioji together. They also raced against each other in both the combined speed qualifiers (qualifers are time based but still) and finals :)
Just wanted to say that I found your channel by chance, and love it. I hate climbing whether it be up a tree or rock climbing and I can't fathom the idea of bouldering and have had no interest in watching/engaging with the competitions but am finding this series really interesting.
Thanks for your super nice content! Entertaining as well as interesting, always a pleasure to watch! Keep crushing it :-) And greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
Great video. I am really not a big fan of the modern climbing style. Are there any good videos that explain when and why bouldering changed to this jumpy parkour like sport?
it's a pretty easy answer, climbing competitions used to be extremely small in viewership due to their limited audience reach. You have to be a climber in order to understand the difficulty of old school climbs. They realized they needed to adapt to something more visually impressive that would be able to make competitions more interesting, so adopted a mix of old school climbing and parkour style movements.
@@TornadoGod1 I think it also has to do with the fact that dynos and parkour-ish moves are almost the only ones that a climber can "learn" to do in 4 minutes. Pure strength moves are more often "do or don't", and in some cases you would only see everyone flashing the boulder or failling attempt after attempt, wich is kinda boring even to a climber audience.
Hey just noticed that you say that Tomoa Narasaki is 5,7 ft or 1,77m , that's a small error 5,7 is more like 1,73m, but then you say that is brother should be around 6 ft or 2m, and that is a pretty big problem since 6ft is approximately 1,83m, meaning there is almost a half foot of discrepency, 2m meters being approximately 6,7ft. just wanted you to know
6 feet is not 2 meters wtf did you smoke? Might use 5 seconds to google if you make a yt video right💀. Looking at the photo were they stand next to each other Meichi seems to be 6‘2 solid
@@AlbertOkay Oh, ok, thanks! It blends in perfectly with the way, especially on a small phone screen. It made the route look impossible at first glance.

Nah it's not imperial is just stupid. I'll attest as a fellow American
Friggin' imperial system...
I'm an American, too.
6'2" is 188cm (the difference is almost an inch)
Gonna roast you right here right now! Well... I've no clue what 6'2'' means so actually I forgive you. Nice video once again! :D
@@Kyllleur 6 feet, 2 inches
Tomoa dynoing back and forth to find the right position is pretty dope
Tomoa: *Jumps around like gravity is just a recommendation*
Meichi: *casually g r a b s*
This is the same reason I always love it when Jan Hojer is in the same final as Tomoa. :) Meichi's a beast.
Such a contrast between all of them I love it!
@@AlbertOkay I love that this sport doesn't particularly have an optimized body type. :D

Yes the Nathaniel Coleman video was so good, I'd love more of those deep dives into a single climber and their style!

it’d be really cool to see a break down and analysis of Magnus Midtbo’s style since there is so much content. Love the video btw!
Definitely have something special in the works for Magnus!

He's so smooth!
Would love a video on that indeed.

Easy there brother it’s 6’5
@@tonyluvbalony6837 nope they're right, it's 6'7

Being tall is difficult sometimes! People think that they can always just reach things but sometimes it's not that easy!
Awesome vid as always!! This is extremely random but your voiceovers are the best :-)
THANK YOU
This chanel has the best climbing videos, by far!!!
