I remember watching Ninja Warrior in high school to pass the time, and Mr. Nagano was one of my top favorites on the show. I hope all contestants are doing good years after the show.
The show is still going (just nothing past 34 has been dubbed over here), and not only that, Nagano recently came *back* to compete again. course is sadly getting stale but the competition remains entertaining.
It only became “quaint” after time passed and people figured out what techniques actually work. Don’t forget people had to fail in order to rule out all the ineffective methods. That’s why the people who figured it out first get more respect than the people who did it later on. The first ones actually showed you HOW to do it.

Had the time limit stayed at 45 seconds, Nagano would've achieved kanzenseiha a second time. It feels like Nagano was robbed a second kanzenseiha in my opinion.
TOTALLY AGREE!!! They’re supposed to introduce major changes only after someone achieves Kanzenseiha, the time was shortened to 40 seconds only because of a “close call”…..I will never forgive ninja warrior for robbing nagano of a second title!

This was such bullshit!!! The year before the final stage had a time limit of 45 seconds and it was only shortened to 40 because of a semi close call…..had that close call not happened nagano would have 2 titles! It’s heartbreaking!

I miss watching Japanese Ninja Warrior. My dad and I loved seeing Makoto perform.
The original is so much better than the American version, but that seems to always be the case
American version ruined what the Japanese version was all about.
