At last, I fly a kite again!

- My 2,129th kite video. It was ten days since I'd flown a kite, which to me seems almost a lifetime, as I try to have kites in the air at least a couple of times a week. Our winter weather has been less cooperative than usual, but today I found a small window of opportunity and took advantage of it.

Ah! What an uplifting sight- from the snowdrops to the kites just willing to soar. The music made it a triple treat for me! We’re getting a lot of heat and not enough winds for good flying here in Ohio USA. You give us reason to hope- thanks, my friend!

It felt VERY long, Margaret, but unfortunately that's the way the weather is at this time of year, and so I just have to try to be patient!
Simple wonder! You give a real sense of being there on the beach with you. Great tie downs, look risky, but I imagine not so in the light wind.
There's a shortage of places to tie down to, after storms washed away most of the driftwood we'd been using, so I risked the "two on one" method and luckily had no tangles.
Two nice kites flown Jim...and of course I enjoy box type kites...thank you for sharing.

Looking great! Agree.... a few days without flying a kite....I start to get itchy. Lucky for me...been flying kite just about every other day! Keep the videos coming.
Good to know that you have plenty of wind there, Jim. It will be several months before our summer brings more regular on-shore winds, but in the meantime I just grab whatever chances I get. Have fun!

I would have liked to fly more kites, of course, but the gentle breeze lasted only a short time and then disappeared.
It looked like a summers day of flying but I know the winter reality would have been a rather cold breeze. I had forgotten all about the Flames Rokkaku. It looked impressive in that blue sky.
The frosty mornings are extending late into the day now, Carl. I see it's been very cold down your way, too. The Flames rokkaku is one of my oldest kites, but still flies well.
A good fly-day with these 2 colourful kites. Hope you will have more good weather.
I hope so too, but although we have some sunny (but cold) days at the moment, there is usually no wind to go with them. Things will probably not improve a lot until summer arrives.
@@JimNicholls how about filming your neighbourhood, town square, shops, market, parks etc when weather is not good for kite flying? The places might be boring to you but refreshing to your viewers.
@@SingaporeCityWalks I'm sure others can do that much better than I can. I've seen a number of good videos, mostly made by people who've recently settled here, and see everything in a new light.

Hallo aus norddeutschland. Habe ein paar Fragen. 1. Schön das man noch stabdrachen sieht. Aber das sind alles gekaufte. Baust du nicht selber, und kaufst du die alle ? Ich bau seit 30 Jahren selber. Hauptsächlich Klassiker. Codys. Sanyo, delta, kastendrachen, lenkdrachen. Bin aus Norddeutschland. Und selbst auf fanö sieht man nur noch stablose oft aus China.
I prefer kites with sticks, but I also have soft (inflatable) kites. I have made one or two kites, but I don't have a lot of skill, so I prefer to buy them. I am nearly 84 years old, so I don't think I will start making any more kites now.
Ah ok. Bin gerade 64 geworden. Und will meine Sammlung reduzieren. 4er flexi Foil Gespann. Grosse lenkdrachen. 3.5 m hohen sanyo. Schaff ich nicht mehr😂
I sold a lot of my more valuable kites a few years ago, but I still have far too many, and at my age I probably will not continue much longer..
