I've been looking into how to implement musics for my MC parkour map (wich would have a lot of musics) and you FINNALY gave a simple yet WORKING way to make sorts of music zones!
Just like detect if a player if in a zone and playsound it.(I'l test it more rn).

There were also some small issues in this video by the way, you should've mentioned the ability to make it in separated folders (what i mean is you dont have to use custom: and you can just use whatever you want as well as do something like custom:music.test)

awesome tutorial I'm a custom map creator (creating one for halloween) and wanted to add some custom music to it so I can hopefully help make the players hair stand on end. And no they're not be to many jump scares (maybe 1 or 2 but there will be build up to those)

So, is it that you have to see what Audio1 replaces in order to figure it all out? Because it feels like you're putting in Audio1 and Audio 2, but does it replace a specific sound? For example if I wanted to replace the sound of a door opening in Minecraft, is it a certain Audio#?
The Tutorial shows you just how to add new sounds. There is a different way of how to change the game's sounds!

Hey man I got a question. Is it possible to add 1 more folder for the directory of the sound files like this:
resourcepacks\assets\custom\soundgroup1\sounds
I was planning to organize the files
You can create a folder in the sounds folder like this:
resourcepacks\assets\custom\sounds\soundgroup1
then you need to add the path extension into the sounds.json file :
soundgroup1/soundfilename.ogg

Part of it works, but when I try to play the sound, it says "Expected whitespace to end one argument, but found trailing data". What does that mean?

I noticed that custom sounds can't be set to any coordinates.
You have to make a mono audio for 3D effect :)

At 3:10, you're talking about pack_format in 1.16.1, At the moment im playing 1.16.5. Do I have to change 5, to 6,?

would this work for 1.18? I put all of the files in their correct place, and copy and pasted the code correctly but the pack doesnt appear
Hmm the only thing that changed in 1.18 is the pack format (now its 8 instead of 7 in the pack.mcmeta file)

I didn't, idk how it works for you guys but the way i fixed it was me just adding tge folder path to the code so insted of typing voice1 i typed custom/voice1.
Got this working after a lot of trial and error but wanted to ask how long can the sounds be and can you add more than one it’s not seeming to work with more than one

@@ajx0207I think that what was happening to me was that i wasn’t getting rid of bits of text on documents, like their was lines that weren’t
showing but where there stopping the file changing into a different file
for example my json and mcpackmeta stayed as a text document because I hadn’t deleted some text leading to them being named wrong.
Then after that just make sure in the coding everything is copied perfectly.
If you’re on java 1.20 like me change the number to a 15 instead of whatever it was in this videp

vielleicht interessanter Hinweis. Das Spiel mag es nicht, wenn die .ogg Datein zu groß sind. Ich hatte es mit einer versucht die um die 19 MB groß war und diese hat das Spiel gekonnt nicht akzeptiert/ reingeladen.
Oh, interessant! Wir hatten tatsächlich noch nie Probleme damit. Du könntest aber noch versuchen, ob du es vielleicht mit Folgenden lösen kannst: minecraft.fandom.com/de/wiki/Sounddaten Suche da nach „preload“ und „stream“. Ist etwas weiter unten

It‘s simple to fix this error! Just change the number of „pack_format“ to 9 in the pack.mcmeta file. For a full list of the numbers and their meaning, you can search for „minecraft resourcepack pack format“

Only if they have your resource pack installed and use it. But you might look for the server resource pack, you can google it. Every player who joins the server will download it automatically

Ok adding a single sound works but as soon as i put down the line of code for multiple sounds EXAACTLY like you have it in the video and in your discord it just doesn't recognize any of the sounds. I have quite literally tried all I can think of trying to fix it and nothing works!

I am on version 1.18.1 and the pack won't show on the screen
If it doesn't show up, then you did something wrong in the pack.mcmeta. The only things I can imagine is a typo or you don't have your file endings shown so you named it pack.mcmeta.txt Make sure you enable it in the file explorer settings!

I don't know why, but i can't seem to be able to change the type of the text file. When i rename it, it literally renames it to that, and doesn't change the file type from txt to mcmeta

If you have a stereo audio you can use: /execute as @a at @s run playsound minecraft:music.creative ambient @s ~ ~ ~ 1 1
This will let the sound play, always at all players (@a). And if you move, the sound will "move" with you.

Instead of using the custom/sounds/... folder you use minecraft/sounds/...
You might want to look up the folder structure of the sounds and their names in minecraft here: www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/all-vanilla-sounds/files
But how to put the resource pack image?
you can create one by getting any square image and naming it pack.png. then just put that into the main folder and youre done :D
