Ive been a Lunin supporter for 2 years, swearing he was becoming an amazing keeper. It's always tough seeing young players we have just not get minutes due to the rest of the talent we have, but when Lunin got his chance I knew he'd take it. This isn't a sudden burst of brilliance, he's just this incredible. He has saved almost half of the penalties he's faced in his career, and correct me if I'm wrong but of all the normal time pens we've conceded he's saved all but 1
I have to say he is one of the most underrated goalkeepers currently. His first important match that he fully played after a long time was against Man City. In the 2nd leg against Man City he had 33 saves and only conceded 1 goal!
Not just that, but he has been heroic all year. Despite some defensive injuries midway through the season we seem to be conceding even less largely cause of Lunin. And in big games he has been heroic.
Reminds me of Navas, undersized but quick and skillful. Always doubted but always delivered. If Lunin turns out to be 70% or what Navas was that would be a major success for him and the club
If i remember correctly navas was older when he made a breakthrough in 2014 fifa world cup. I think talent wise, lunin has a higher ceiling than navas.

Courtois is an amazing keeper in the 5 games he plays each season Side note: but Ukraine looks to become the next one stop shop for young GKs as Germany only really has Seimen, Italy has Donnaruma but he’s expensive, and France has Chevalier but he’s not been developing too too well, whilst Ukraine has got Trubin, Lunin, and Shnurko. All are developing well in high tier football (Benfica, Madrid, and AZ respectively)
What I picked up on watching the game was when extra time was up he went straight to the goalkeeping coach and looked at player tendencies. Whereas Ederson was just walking around the pitch talking to his teamates.
