Watch dogs 2 went in a completely new direction after Watch dogs 1 got critically slaughtered and the general consensus was that Watch dogs 1 was not what was advertised and was just an average typical Ubisoft game.
Todays video we are checking out Watch dogs 2 in 2022 to find out if Watch Dogs 2 is really worth buying in 2022 after years of updates and patches and to see if the positives and negatives of Watch Dogs 2 still exist in 2022.

I really liked WD 2. Causing chaos and the NPC reactions to it was really fun. Legion was soulless.
Legion was truly awful
I liked that they tried to do something new with the controllable characters but it failed so badly. It’s a shame really

This was my first open world game ever had so much fun with it and made me enjoy GTA even more. Highly underrated and Such a great Story + Characters
While I disagree on characters I do think it’s underrated

I bought this game used from gamestop because I just wanted to play a game based on my favorite city, San Francisco. That was back then in 2019 and its 2022, almost 2023, but im still playing it. This game got me through the worst of the covid pandemic. Im a nurse btw. Whats funny is, I dont even do the missions, I just do the online game where i run from hunters. Thats always fun.
This game got me through the hard times and I appreciate it for that. The open world and the exploration brought me in another world. The story was mid but that’s not what I play it for
Relate to this heavily my dude 💪 game came into my life at a good time
I really liked this game! I thought it was also more immersive and better connected to it's setting/location in Silicon Valley than the first game. Interesting change in the storyline also.
Watch Dogs 1 was more dark and gritty, whereas this one was more outgoing and had more of a humour side to it.

WD2 was one of my first games i would definitely buy it again. but once you’ve done everything there’s not much to do other than make money unless you have friends you can do challenges. story mode or playing solo would get boring once you finish the game.

I think it's a bit lame how people put down Ubisoft. Honestly, I think their games are a lot better than nearly anything else on the market. I feel like people don't feel cool or genuine unless they put down the obviously popular titles and prop up the niche ones. It's the reason people will gush over Dark Souls 1 and mention Elden Ring in passing. A solid game is a solid game. And the sales numbers alone shows you that most people like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. Ghost Recon as well
Oh yeah I’m not saying people don’t like them but they just make the same game over and over again. They rarely innovate and there AI systems are usually awful.
I’m happy other people enjoy them and I enjoy a lot of the older games like the og assassins creed splinter cell ghost recon games but I just don’t like them all that much anymore.
Plus the ridiculous amount of microtransactions they force into there singleplayer games
I have a few games of them like several Far Cry, AC, Ghost Recon and while they are diferent there's undeniably a formula to them. I think that's what most people criticize, at least I do.
Ubisoft's games are boring and uninspired, they've given me gaming burnout more than once. With the exception of Rayman and Splinter Cell, I'm never touching their shitty products again.
WD1 had best tone and protagonist in the series, they should have kept it dark.
Wildlands is cool to .. but hard to finish .. its all the same missions
The world around you is so immersive, not too repetitive.. The hacking is the best mechanic outside of any other traditional shoot to kill games.... Plenty of mini things to do... Co op is just great.. Good game in overall... Too bad main story is weird but hey its a different take than the first game so I get it
Watxh dogs 2’s story was amazing you need to play it again because the characters were just perfectly written. The story is so amazing
I was just playing this early today lol. Due to Ubisoft rushing legion out the door and it’s shit sales/reception(which is deserves). I most likely won’t have another WD game for awhile. Oh well 2 is probably the best in the series
I honestly prefer the atmosphere and open world of WD1, but WD2 definitely makes the right improvements in overall gameplay.

I personally enjoyed the first one so much more than the second. The overall vibe is different even though you can do more in the second, but the story overall was not memorable for me.
The first and second definitely split the fans I think
I enjoyed the story of the 1st way more, it had more stakes and felt more mature but I prefer the second for gameplay overall although watch dogs 1 had better gunplay imo
First game got a lot of hate for no reason and it's definitely better than the sequel
Watch dogs 2 was so cringy that I quit playing it after the first hour. After a while I tried it again and eventually forced myself to finish it. Amazing gameplay but the characters and story was incredibly annoying immature
I think does worth buy the Watch Dogs 2. San Francisco map is beautiful and many vehicles. I love cars.

Out of the 3 games so far WD2 was the best. But in this case it means a good game and nothing more.

@@JacksGameReviews I would not call it a disaster. But mostly average to from time to time OK.
I got ultimate edition for 25eur (instead of day one 100eur) and I would say even with all additional content not really worth the price I paid.
The problem with legion is less systemic game than WD2 and they half baked the system play as anyone. There should be more specialization for agents and limiting what they can use to their specialization.
In my case elite hacker agent plus cargo dron (over powered af) and I only in few moments in the game when I was forced to change the agent or I expected gun fight I was changing it to other agents (mostly the ones that came with ultimate edition to give them a chance).
This is the problem with choice. You optimize your time with the game and fun. Which means that one player might want to have army of retired people, and the other will use overpower character.
There is too little variation in missions to make them more agent specific. And made agents feel unique (like limiting overpowered cargo dron to be only used by construction site workers).
A simple test to compare the two is find NPC and start following them.
Also just want around the city and check how many "random" things are happening.
The San Francisco was creating better impression of living city. On the other hand London was under martial state so it forced some changed which negatively impacted the game and reduced the number of systems that should interact with each other.

Yeah I played both games one after the other and the second game punishes you if you try a run threw it like adin would. I remember going in for cash bag there was only like three enemies and all of sudden I had 20 gang members spawning in.
Absolutely to this day this game is one of the best open world experiences I’ve ever played

Yeah WD1 story was better imo and was easier to follow. People say gameplay in WD2 was better but I still say WD1 excels in that too.

I think the game is actually pretty great, first and foremost, it is a fun game, it's a bit hard to get into at first, but when you do, it's extremely fun. I think the story isnt that great but that's fine
I am a fan of the 1st game and I do own the 2nd but combat just feels very light/not impactful. It's missing the punch IMO

The gun play has definitely been nerfed, but I still like WD 2'S hacking and "stealth" (the stealth is still pretty simple but its an improvement) but I kinda see a WD remaster with the hacking of WD 2 and the handling of legion.
How is your FOV so high? is there a way to do it on PS4?
I had so much fun with WD 2 (even after I completed everything) I still played it, I'm not sure why I still played it but it was fun and thats what matters right?

Best WD game in the series imo. Second favorite is WD 1. WD2 is my favorite mostly bcoz it was a remarkable improvement over WD1 and I liked WD1 following which WD became one of my favorite video game franchises. Least favorite is Legion. Honestly, I was quite excited about WD Legion when it was first announced, but it didn't turn out to be as expected, although its not too shabby by itself.
I love WD2 although I don't play it no more. There's so many different ways you can troll other players as a hacker or a victim. Great times! haha. WDL most definitely went in the wrong direction for me. A really good upgrade with WD2 with a similar map would have been fine with me.
I have mix reviw of this game. I like the progression skill system on wd 1. But on wd 2 it's lot easier than before. Most of the skill already included. I was feel kinda reward after getting explosion pipe thingy in wd 1
Thank you for the video and the review. I bought Watch Dogs Legion and I'm really enjoying it. I've played thru all of the Fry Cry series and liked them. WD and WD2 is on sale on Steam until the 9th for 12 buck for both. I may pick them up. How bad could they be for 12 bucks? :)
Answer? Really, really bad. If you enjoyed WDL, don't expect it to be anything like the original. At least in my opinion. It's not the story line, I liked it, it's not crashing, mine did not. It's the stupid combat system and the game spawning in enemies behind you after you cleaned them out. You pull out your gun to fight guys that are shooting you and you have 3 police cars magically show up, also trying to kill you. You can't aim correctly after the first shot, so you can't win, just put your gun away and run.
Don't get me started on the crappy driving physics. I guess by the time they got to WDL, they had the bugs figured out. Shame. I really wanted to like the game.
When you said the some characters die there is no change and that still make jokes, let not forget when Horatio died because of 3 specific gang members apart of a special gang, Marcus went and rained hell on all 3, they even had a part where they were using his desk as a memorial, the only reason why things didn't go any further than that, is probably because they knew Horatio wouldn't want them to sit in sadness he, he would want them to continue to lift each other up through dark times and to take care of the threat no matter what fr, I wish he stayed longer though, he should've gotten more camera time with Marcus

Did we play same game? Everything is crap in WD2. Everything is like from cheap plastic. There is now weight in cars, weapons, walking. It's clunky and boring a-f. It's not worth "free" price tag and you are telling people to pay $20 for this?
Maybe physics isnt great, but its defo not as bad as you said. Game is fun and immersive. There a lot of things to do so it isnt imo boring. Objectively its 10x more fun than any gta.

Dont get this game in the last mission "motherload" when you play as wrench it could glitch and you cant continue cuz the mission will keep resetting
1:53 dedsec is still that threat though lmao the only thing is that dedsec isn’t one whole group they all have different groups in different parts of the world so naturally the different people would act independently from each other
The concept always seemed intriguing but Ubisoft is a major red flag, maybe under a more competent developer this series could have been something special.
I like watch dogs 2, but its horribly optimized on the PC. My rx 6800M gaming laptop struggled to run it, and it crashed fairly often with AMDs newest drivers
Yes this game is still amazing in 2022 I just started it playing it again for the platinum trophy.
Right now on Steam they have Gold edition for under 20 USD.

Opinions and everything...I don't think Watch Dogs Legion is bad at all. Most people who complain about it lack any real imagination to be able to create their own hero. But the controls, level design are very good.

The characters and story took me out of the experience. The gameplay was good, but I couldn't finish it. Marcus felt like the villain in the story. They cause so much destruction because rich people bad.
I think there was a lot of potential to make wdl a good game.

As someone who absolutly loves the first Watch Dogs, I hated this game. Every thing in this game is a downgrade from the last. It was so bad I didn't even finish it

i got legion it is fun but it isn't really realistic that is something i don't like about it but i am thinking of buying watch dogs 2
@@bodhie1162 i got watch dogs 2. I would recommend it, the map feels alive, u can hack many things, unlock nice abilities, online is fun and has many gamemodes, it is more realistic, cool weapons, nice clothing to buy. (I havent gotten a lot into the story mode)

I did prefer the darker tone of WD1, WD2 did some good things mechanically to improve from the first but Marcus was just bland and Aiden Pierce was like the Punisher, not a bad game just not for me, less said about Legion the better, although Bloodlines dlc made me buy it, I work at Motive, my days are numbered though because I refuse to fill in the book that was 'how to recognise your unconscious bias', sooner I get my pay off I can go start my own dev team, sick of woke, 20% of our team were workshy diversity hires that dragged us back, I spent 2.5 months correcting bad lazy slow made code, I am sorry we let you down with optimisation on PC, patch is coming but months away, working on DS2, literally just starting so nothing big but now they want Isaac to be bi and have a boyfriend, I only joined because they said it wouldn't change much from source and I'm a big DS fan, EA are vermin, wokeism is ruining gaming, I'm all for equality but talent should always be the priority no matter what someone looks like, we have a diverse team already but we are getting told "too many wuh...wuh...wuhite males" literally, that's bloody racist in of itself, 100 of my peers are coming with me and we've started developing a game on U5 on our spare time, once we get full-time we will have a full game with no mtx and hopefully no patches needed, when we ship a game it should work as advertised but I'm telling you all we are getting slowed down by diversity hires, wish I was joking and everyone here who works for a living of all races, genders and orientations will tell you the same thing, EA shoved this 'diversity and inclusion manager' (DIM, fits her) and she is just vile, knows nothing about gaming in general let alone developing, if we were at 100% Deadspace would have been 4k 30fps with rtx on PS5 and SX, with enhanced SSR 60fps mode, Series S would have been 1440p 30fps with essr, 720-1080p scaling at 60fps with less effects, PC would have been properly optimised, now I'm working again 7 days a week 12-16hr shifts, I'm sick of it as the DH just clock out at 18:00hrs while we are here to 23:00hrs. Edit - Apoligies for rant.

Man idk I’ve been playing on and off for like 4 hours (20mins at a time) and I’m only on mission 3 the game just can’t pull me in to care the story seems dumb the characters make me want to put it down every time they talk to me and the missions them selfs don’t make me care about them 🤧 when the mission icon comes up it’s so small so I can’t tell if it’s a actual main line mission or some side quest even tho the main story feels like a boring side quest.
Fighting the cops feels dumb the AI is slow but deadly so u can have a lil fun with that … hacking feels pointless when I can just shoot u …it’s just a Great Value GTA
Oh and the main Character is a huge Dork ( I know he’s a hacker but Damn is he lame to play ass)
