I haven’t heard you talk about it but I’m pretty sure there will be no window in the safe room. You should install a tv inside the safe room and frame it like a window, Connect a camera located outside the home and it’ll almost be like looking out a window and help it not feel like a dungeon.
At the beginning of the video I love the expression on Erin's face as Josh is describing all that went into making the safe room. You can just see her facial expression changing as she is picturing in her mind all they went through. At the end to see the Doe and her babies looking up towards the home and then cut to all the sheep seemingly looking back at the deer. Your video story telling skills are Priceless!
When Erin started editing these they were good, she's got a great nature ascetic in her videography and music choice, which takes a lot of time by itself, she's a pro now! The whole family is wonderful!
i have been watching these guys since they were in the hundreds now they are in the millions and have never had a issue with their story telling they are an amzing couple but an even more amazing family hugss from Canada
Make sure your safe room door swings inward!!! You can be trapped by debris if it swings outward and boards or trees have fallen in front of it. I am amazed at how far one couple alone has come. You two are an AMAZING DUO! Congrats on the finishing of your safe room.
Erin you definitely have earned to sub contract out the dry wall!! You don’t even have to make it a Christmas present to yourself. For all of the hard work you have done you just deserve not to have to do drywall!❤
Having the bulk of the safe room in the rear view mirror is huge...both physically and mentally. Watching Elie swing on the gate at the end made me chuckle.
I'm amazed at the time and labor of the safe room. Some could say you guys have a little "Prepper" in your blood. Protecting your family is paramount in this day and age. Enjoy watching. You guys rock!
I labored for a mason crew back in the day…hated carrying those blocks around. But got used to it. I applaud Erin and Josh for tackling such a task as laboring and laying the block! ICF to the rescue on future builds!!!!!??
When it comes to construction and building especially your home you are the absolute best CZcams channel- no messing around etc and you know what you are doing- actually learn new info
There is nothing better than a wife who will help her husband with anything they build. Great to see a family working together for a common goal. Get those young boys involved in the build, they will learn so much, you have taken on a big project but glad your eating the Elephant one bite at a time. It will all be done soon and you can look back at all the physical labor to getter done. Thanks for sharing, your a great couple with a great family. I love to watch your progress, tell Mike Morgan to come over and build you a nice road into the new house without 90 corners.
I have admired and love to see y'alls videos and progress since almost from the beginning. I worked for an industry that stressed safety safety safety. I have seen how you trust every move but please please please wear a safety hard hat when necessary. Just a thought but prayers are always going y'alls way.
Very important with the storms you deal with, Florida has higher standards as well dealing with hurricanes. My parents shop was concrete and steel beam constructed, only the barred windows were blown out, we stayed there for a few days after Andrew swept through.
She can go into retirement until the ext project. I see a new barn being built (not right now) as the number of sheep means they've got to be running out of room.
Just a heads up, on your safe room, concrete and block is porous and moisture will migrate to cold surfaces. So in winter it will migrate outwards and in the summer when the inside is cooler, it reverses and migrates inward. Suggest you plan your room to be moisture tolerant and be able to capture it and remove it. While sealing the masonry will help, moisture will still need to be managed. If you choose drywall, use moisture resistant type. Hardieboard is already moisture proof and holds paint well. All the best to y’all.
My only complaint about your channel is wanting longer videos. It’s just so great to watch people following their dreams and having a great relationship to boot!!!! You guys rock.
You got it done and still LOVE each other probaly more now than ever . Your's is a dream family for sure ,I'm not implying it is all rose' s ,but whatever it is you guys do it together CONGRAT's
Hi Josh, Erin & family, so very glad the safe room concrete is done! Erin, you are a work horse! So glad the boys helped you clean up. It was a great treat for an early Saturday morning video. As always God bless and take care from your very long-time California subscriber 🙏 🤲
I'm with Josh, anything Rasberry is good for me! We've also been dealing with high heat here in my location - 24 straight days where temps have never dropped below triple digits. Erin and Josh, this build is simply monumental and I could not be more impressed by your tenacity, skills, committment and endurance to press on and get this done! Now that it is to this point, it's become easier to see visually what your plan actually is and it's very impressive. Kudos to you both for all you have acomplished and continue doing!! Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Holly Wow you two great job setting over 36,000 pounds of block plus the rebar and concrete you are far over 75,000 pounds for that Safe room. Bravo 👏👏🤘🏼🇺🇸
Always incredible watching your videos on the construction in your house and even watching the kids grow up. Time flies by and what an amazing family. Keep up the great work everyone
Holly Wow you two great job setting over 36,000 pounds of block plus the rebar and concrete you are far over 75,000 pounds for that Safe room. Bravo 🇺🇸
I can relax with the sigh of relief it is FINISHED.......Erin it's not a dungeon! and I'm sure it will be very pretty & nicely decorated & i can bet you will use it not only on emergency. Great job guys as always Love & Hugs x
The safe room ceiling/bedroom floor looks great. All the hard work, sweat and blood turned into a major milestone completed for the extension build. You all are amazing and it’s refreshing to see a family working together to achieve your dreams that you make happen through many hours, days and months of effort.
Very impressive, teamwork, everybody doing their share of what is needed. Now that the safehouse is ready to do the inside, you are consecrating on finishing the roof. Love from Mike. ❤
You were BEAMING while describing all you have been through building the safe room....and then getting to say that "it's done, cant believe it" Erin's eyes were those of a doe. I have never seen her look so gorgeous. Love you guys. Huge congrats. Gunna buy some LMNT today...( this channel is the only one I actually enjoy the ads). Until next time, 100% thanks
Hardest working husband and wife team anywhere!!! 🛠 The addition is not some simple design; especially adding the safe room (dungeon) into the mix.🏰 The kids are going to be so thrilled having their own new elevated rooms (with beautiful views) and their own bathroom! You all will be living in comfort and style by the end of the year. Kudos to to your creativity, ambitions, dedication and the results you are yielding throughout ALL your endeavors! 👏
The safe room> Ideas? You should make it a movie theatre. 6 super comfy recliner seating. On the sides, closed in storage full with all types of survival needs.
This is a big deal !!! You have reached the top of the Mountain & now sliding down the other side. I am SO happy for you. Keep going...all gravy now!! LOL xo
For a very long time prominent CZcamsrs were hawking that green concoction, and now it's the saline solution of sorts. Wonderful to have the safe room finished, except for the decorating. The house is really taking shape!
I remember 6ish years ago when I just started following, thinking "What happens if a Tornado comes?". I was worried. And Josh was the least comfortable on camera, but I wanted to say "What's the plan for the storm shelter?". But never did. Years went by with no mention of a safe room. Thankfully, he had a plan all along. I judged hastily. Awesome job. The Dream Safe Room. Looking forward to seeing the interior which is now probably dropped in priority, in favor of the house. But I'll wait. The 2 of you are a great example of how humans should be. And you are having an impact. Spiral Out. Keep Going.
I am so proud of you all and the kids you got to just sit back man and say man we did this all by ourselves just very impressive thanks for filming all this and sharing it with us I've been a builder most of my life and you cannot work at work a bunch of my workers I'm old now so😊
Erin, your movie making skills are wonderful. You are a master story teller. The lighting , camera work and music all combine to hook our senses and emotions. Basically... It's darn near impossible to stop watching your videos until they're over.

although you still have to pour the floor in the safe room . you guys have done a great job of doing the most brutal work that is on any job . mason is the most brutal of all and then all of the forming for concrete takes a lot of time and effort . you guys faced it all in true fashion . I take my hat off to you both . you learned new skills along the way . WELL DONE !
Great job Josh and Erin. Erin is such a hard worker and good momma and wife. You make a great team and you both work hard. And you live in such a beautiful place. And also have good kids it's good to see them helping you out. ❤
i was never good in math so my head explodes trying to figure out all the intersections in your roof rafters - amazing that you both can keep that clear in your heads to build it. I can't wait to see the addition finished - what a big step forward
Really glad that portion of the build is done. Next should be quicker n easier. There is time since you increased the sq ft of living space. To research a ecco masonary stove. Putting in will be pretty easy since already have a regular stove.
Guys! It's starting to look like a million dollar home! That will be a home you can be very proud of. Good on the both of you!!! The deer clips are priceless. Impressed to no ends, Me southern AZ.

Excellent progress. Now you can see the end. Great to see the boys in the project. I know they are there everyday but it is nice to see them.
You all amaze me with what you accomplish. One hard working family.
Here in Puerto Rico, we build the whole house like that safe room. You guys did an excellent job, that safe room is very well made.
Very important with the storms you deal with, Florida has higher standards as well dealing with hurricanes. My parents shop was concrete and steel beam constructed, only the barred windows were blown out, we stayed there for a few days after Andrew swept through.
What an accomplishment. Serious job. Now Erin can go into concrete retirement.
Can I get an AMEN
She can go into retirement until the ext project.

I think you mean stucco the outside walls?
You guys have to be one of the hardest working couples I have ever seen. Great Job!
And the Grammy awards goes to🎉 Josh🎉 & Erin + kids 🎉for being the most actively successful hard workers on CZcams platform .❤

It was good to see your safe room get done and those final rafters. You guys just about got it. Looking good. 👍❤️
" That's one ugly board" comment Erin made, reminded me of Elain on Seinfeld saying that's one ugly baby!
In our area, for more resistance at the corners, pillars are made of concrete with iron
Your property is so pretty …you two work so hard…love the house building…stay safe and healthy..😊❤️🇨🇦
