- Burna Boy Live Performance Jamaica 🇯🇲 Scores of patrons pour into National Stadium for Burna Boy Live
At 7 p.m., music is blasting through the National Stadium, where African giant Burna Boy is expected to perform later tonight. Scores of patrons are still pouring into the event space in hopes of capturing the best seats.
According to Tamarsha Flemming, a supervisor with First In Line Entertainment Limited, the official event ticket company, patrons have been lined up since early afternoon to secure the best spots to see the stage.
"People started coming in at 2 p.m., but the gates officially opened at 4 p.m. At first, because of the crowd, it was rough, but now things are going smoothly. We have a supervisor at every entrance to ensure that there is no piling up," she told The Gleaner.
Burna Boy is set to perform in Jamaica for the first time alongside homegrown artistes Lila Iké and Popcaan.
The event is promoted by Duke Concept, Twisted Entertainment, Fete Kingdom, Sho Entertainment, and Solid Agency Company.
Flemming also advised that there would be no re-entry into the venue once patrons were already inside. No tickets are being sold at the gate, but they can be accessed at National Heroes Circle.
Rayon Burns from Kingston arrived at 6 p.m. with his VIP ticket. Though admitting he only knows three Burna Boy songs, he is excited to see what will happen.
"I really want to see Burna Boy perform, to be honest. He is a fresh new artiste, and I want to see what he brings," said Burns.
Following concerns about the venue's layout, he also shared he is happy with the new format.
"They did a good job because VIP is central where they wanted, but [the] general has all the seats, so they could have done better with that," he continued.
Shayanne Hylton, who is seated in general, is already having a great time.
"In the general section, the vibe is nice, and we can see. I mean, for the price of the ticket, you get the monies worth so far," she said.
As a Nigerian, I will simply call this a family reunion. The ancestors, are not sleeping.
Well said!💖

Damn! The ancestors are happy! Mama Africa is happy
He said he come from a place in Nigeria but he is Jamaican, then he tell them you are Nigerian. Real family reunion meh links! They tried to separate us and mek we forget who we are, but through music and self awareness, we will never forget! Them chains could never hold we down just held us together!

You may not know how dancehall influenced African music in the 90s
@@nmg1909 I know! I'm jamaican born and bred .
He has just fully established himself as an artist to be reckoned with & respect. For an African artist to get this type of reception in Jamaica IN 2022 ? Watch out .

Burna is an Afrobeats artiste not dancehall
@@Robio_scorpio yes, but ppl mistake him for a dancehall artist because he has a dancehall flavour. Even he spoke about the influence.
Real talk mi g.
@@Robio_scorpio Afrobeats have dancehall beats in it also. It's a combination of various beats from other cultures culminating with the African flare.

Notice how Jamaican artists always stopping the music to do whatever, but the old legends never did that: Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Garnett Silk, they perform their songs. Look at the difference in performance here and the crowd's reaction when Burna Boy perform with Popcaan vs Popcaan performing solo.

I LOVE Burna Boy!! I’m a Jamaican living in NYC and I’m soooo thrilled with his reception in JA. You don’t understand - Jamaican is reggae and dancehall country so for him to get this reception, you already know! I went to his sold out show at MSG and it was EPIC!!
Exactly what I was thinking. Basically the entire Caribbean has accepted him and he more than loves them. I'm Nigerian and I can definitely say he gets more love from the entire Caribbean than even his home country
Mehn am envious of everyone that went that msg show 🥲
@@doziem04 Well I'm from Puerto Rico and I haven't heard of him coming here don't even mentioned in tv. Here main genre is reguetton very different. 😢

Glad to see Afrobeats Artistes getting love in Jamaica. We do the same to Dancehall and reggae artistes in Africa too.
Mi Jamaicans never disappoint, in my opinion, Jamaica energy a di best out of all his Caribbean tour. I love Burna Boy’s songs from 2018 .

Jamaica always promote Africa before apartheid in SA to now 2022! with music food art and travel and many Jamaicans live in many African countries! Bob now Rita have a whole compound there for years and many revolutionaries sought refuge there. Listen to Peter Tosh music wished he had moved there for a while🌴 but he was loyal to his country😒🌴🎶🎵 Next gen Aficans discoverJamaica but its known globally📚⏰✌
Jamaicans are Africans who got there through slave trade. You are Africans.
It was an amazing experience despite the technical issues! Priceless 🇯🇲🇳🇬 ❤️💚🖤

He has an amazing stage presence and he's a great performer.

Repping for the motherland. Africa unite.
African Giant burna boy🔥🔥🔥
It’s awesome to see 🇳🇬 & 🇯🇲 do this🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Nice to hear Jamaicans sing along in Nigerian Lingo. I wish Africa spoke one language, so that Africa and her children in diaspora can talk as one. Unfortunately, Nigeria alone speaks about 120 languages. So, you could have 120 people from Nigeria, and they don't understand each other. So, we are compelled to speak English or Pidgin.
fi a million years now😂😂😂Dancehall/reggae artistes fill up venues and stadiums(Sizzla in The Gambia) all across African countries when they tour Africa, and crowds chant back their lyrics even with little to no comprehension of Jamaican Patois and it's many slang words, while still holding a vybz...so it's not too much to say that by that very same reasoning/logic it was only right for jamaicans to show up in their numbers for a grammy winning Nigerian🇳🇬 artiste(with a bountyfull catalogue of hits)and gwan enjoy di vibes.
WOW, this is the very best reasoning for the amazing reception Burna Boy is receiving , nuff year nuff Jamaican artiste grew massive crowds in African shows so yes it's quite natural to reciprocate.
BOOM!!!!

Beautiful performance, thanks for making Jamaica, one of your choice to perform. Jah guide, one love.
The difference is that the artist perform his song on stage and do less jumping around. Jamaican artists would be better off internationally if they did the same. Can't wait for Lila Ike to perform her songs, because there will be no stopping her. Her song's already featured in the movie Riches, an Amazon Original.

This man has the Jamaican showmanship! that is Fromm his reggae dancehall influence!
No influence whatsoever. Dancehall is also an origin from Africa and Nigeria has more than 20 genre of sounds. There is no influence at all. Even this is Afrobeat and just one from many sounds in Nigeria
@@olulu4862 I can say if we are to go by genres, Nigeria has more than 30 genre not 20.
Nigeria is a birth place of what humans call music.
