Hi, I just found your channel! I live in Wilmington. I just bought a 1972 StarCraft Sea Scamp v Hull for my birthday. My husband is rebuilding a boat motor for me to learn on. I love fishing for bass! I mainly have fished just the Kankakee river due to it being one house away from where we live. I want to go out to Heidecke lake this spring, never been there. I'm going to check into our lures andI subscribed to your channel too!

Hey I just found your channel, nice work on the videos. I am looking to get a tracker 175 like yours to take on Heidecke and Braidwood and I noticed you had (3) people on your boat. How was it fishing with (3) people. Do you have the 60hp or the 75hp motor? Everywhere I read says to get the 75hp but there are not a lot of used ones for sale with the 75. If you ocassionaly run (3) people with a 60hp i'd feel comofortable getting one as well.
60hp and it’s easy to fish with 3 people on that boat. Plenty of space.

I don't remember ever being that close to the bridge going under. Is the water level high?
Jim Webb it’s honestly been high for a long time. Almost the entire season last year noone could get under it. It was in the red zone when we went.

Would you say this place is worth bank fishing? 3 hour drive for me, but I’m trying to see if it’s even worth it if I can bank fish there.
Bank fishing can be great. The lake is hit or miss. Also check wind conditions in the area before going. I’d recommend bringing a bike. It’ll help you get to spots not over fished.
Like he said, check wind conditions, its a very open lake and its hard to cast out far enough with high winds. Come here often to bank fish and ive caught at least one fish every time. I normally just bottom fish using medium sized minnows and leeches. I normally get drum, catfish, and carp, but i have caught small mouth and walleye using this method
Only bank fished there once. Didn't have much luck. The place is HUGE. Saw some smart anglers using bikes to get around.
Bank fishing sucks!
