Story
Lara embarks on a new journey in search of more artifacts from the past. Lara has spent the last few months tracking down the location of the undiscovered Tomb of Thutmose II. This has lead her back to Egypt, where she has discovered what remains of a lost civilization, and a pyramid she believes is the final resting place of the king who has, until now, been lost to the sands of time. She also has reason to believe there is an undiscovered connection with the lost city of Atlantis. Are there still mysterious treasures just waiting to be uncovered...?
Okay, so this is the debut of the author. I am not quite sure if he/she got some support on lighting. For the beginning it shocked me there's literally only darkness even if I've set the brightness to 2.0 it still looks dark. This is a must imrproved part. Also, there are way too many room which is huge, empty. The author can add more some objects to decorate some room. That would be a lot better. There are lots to improve, but it's decent level for debut release. It's a good start for him/her. I expect to see huge improvement for the next release if the story continues after the end of this level. 😉

Tomb Raider never gets old. The hidden passages are one of the best parts of the games.
building textures aged really well IMO
I love every version of Lara, but I have to admit, I kind of miss her cute little "ow!" from this era whenever she takes a hit. Thanks as always for sharing these playthroughs.

@@stevenPCGaming I thought I could just hang myself outside the opened gate and let the boulder roll above Lara harmlessly just like in the original TRs, and then I see her run over and died in the air miserably. Maybe this trick has been "fixed" in Tomb Editor.
What's more tricky is that the boulder wouldn't wait for you and if you managed to dodge it without having time to pull the lever it will block it along with the gate, forbidding you to proceed. How merciless.

Just curious, but I was wondering what setup you use to play these TRLE's i.e. do you use a controler/keyboard etc? I'm interested in getting a cheapish gaming laptop just to play TRLE's, but I'm a controler only player really and have no idea on what I would need to run them. Apologies for asking but I am 38 and not that technical minded when it comes to PC gaming 😂. Keep up the great vids buddy 👍
For all these years, I've been playing classic TR with keyboard. But it's okay if you wanna use controller. I think TR1X and TR2Main both have native controller support. As for TR3, TR4, and TR5 you may need to download some kind of program which is simliar to joytokey. It allows you to modify the keyboard buttons to your controller 😅

Looks good for a first-time map. Only complaint I have is that it has a bit too many empty spaces. Otherwise, an enjoyable one.
yeah exactly. The author needs to learn to reduce the size of a room. Otherwise it will still be huge but empty 😅

I really don't wanna sound overly negative and I just wanna make clear that it's not misunderstood. The level, game play wise, is looking fine.
Some of the spike traps are a bit fiendish and that one room with 3 enemies made me physically cringe. That room wasn't made up to test the player or get better at. It was literally designed to abuse game mechanics.
But now to the actual bad thing.
Everything looks so boring. You go into a hallway, it's all sandstone, next room, it's ONE SINGLE TILE (The room at 3:10 being the worst offender, it's just shrill and looks bad).
Again, nothing against the game play, it's fine. It's working and has some challenge and some nice, if basic, puzzle (Although, what is up with the keyhole at 15:55, that just looks not intended and barely working). But the visuals are ... what feels like an actual first time map.
If it's actually a first time map disregard my negativity. Everyone starts out small and imperfect, take my criticism instead as something to look at and improve.
In the description it is stated that this is the debut of the maker :) I also noticed that indeed it looks boxy and not the best, but for a debut, does not look too bad. It looks easy to make, I am trying to understand and learn how hard it is, and I must say it is not easy :P It is good feedback what you have provided in my opinion.
Yeah, it's true this is the author's debut level. Actually not just these you stated. the biggest concern is lightning. I even have to adjust the overall brightness to make the video look brighter 😅

I was thinking the overall level design has decent potential, like it has different dynamics to each area. It just needs tweaking and tidying up.
If it were a first time player, I imagine they'd get lost quite a bit. It was decent of the author to put in camera shots of the doors opening but to me I was asking, "great, but where is this door?"
Reducing the room size, adding more textures, sloping the rooms to make it less boxy, better placement of items (for example I'd expect to get the magnums far earlier to tackle the centaurs), fewer tedious activities such as the really long shimmy after the magnums pick up and moving the blocks a lot and more logic to puzzle solving e.g. the boulder room puzzle. Then you'd have a really excellent level!
But as I said, the design itself is really good and those are just my critiques. I understand how difficult it can be to design your own levels as I have tried myself.
Reducing the room size and adding the varity of textures are really what the author should improve. Hope to see it happens on the author's next relese 😮
I guess now it's clear who was the pharaoh that accepted Tihocan's offer and his Atlantean technology to built Sanctuary of Scion😆
