Well done Brian. I have memories of your trying to fit the stairs around the post... Your skill level has skyrocketed ...
Thanks so much!!
Wow! You two did a great job and made it look easy at the same time. What a change.
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous! What a beautiful home! You two have done such a great job, I wish I had your taste (and talent!)
The flooring looks amazing, another job well done❤
Thank you so much!
Good job guys, looks so good! A wooden floor makes a home cozy and alive. Love it! :)
Thanks so much! 😊
You had me at Bamboo! A room with a many functions, Very nice guys it looks Amazing. Thanks for Sharing...
Thanks for watching!
The trim I did around our floor was just Pine that I routed the upper Edge to a design that I liked and then I took the propane blowtorch to the pieces and burn them and then lightly sanded them down
Sounds beautiful!
Still love that staircase!
Thanks!!
The flooring looks amazing and really makes the basement part off the house. I've done a number of laminated floors and it has its challenges but results are amazing. Enjoy the Journey - Cheers
I totally agree! This one was so easy- the tongue and groove were waxed and it fit together so snugly.
Your staircase where it's round the way that I did it to cover the gaps and to kind of make it look neat I used old fashioned rope and laid it down along that edge and glued it down.
Cool!
last big job done. great work. now on to the addition!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great job on the floor, it looks amazing 👏.
Thanks so much! 😊
I have used a diamond blade to grind down high spots on my concrete floor before but the dust was terrible. That grinder/vacuum tool looks amazing.
I like to use some longer hoses with the vacuum so that I can have the vac outside. Makes it lots quieter. Plus I use a dust separator so the vac filter doesn't fill up with the cement dust.
Floor looks super nice. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! Yes we were surprised how well the vacuum grinder worked. It wasn’t dust free but definitely manageable. The drawback was you had to empty the vacuum of dust ever few feet- the filter clogged up quickly
@@ColoradoMountainLiving Using a dust separator cuts down, but doesn't elimante the dust getting to the shop vac and clogging the filter. My solution is to dedicate an old shop vac to use with the dust separator, always have it outside, and remove the filter. Fine dust, such as drywall dust, still gets through so I just let it blow outside and then wet down the area when done.
You two have done such a great job, it looks amazing
Thanks so much!
👍 Good choice, looks great. That grinder/vacuum never crossed my mind, cool tool. Maybe you could glue some "transitional" trim to that floating portion in the work area for them toes, ouch! Sliding barn door is just the ticket behind that killer stairway.
Thanks so much. Bryan already stepped on the floating edge 😆. Maybe a piece of quarter round
@@ColoradoMountainLiving I'd go even more of a "ramp" than that, he could fashion some himself if the big box stores don't have it. I'd be stubbing my toes constantly, I wonder if you could grind an angled edge on the flooring plank it's self and maybe paint it afterwards to match. Good luck.
He suggested running the edges through a router
@@ColoradoMountainLiving 👍
Nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Basement looks great! Good job
Thank you! Cheers!
Outstanding... LOVE IT.... EXCEPTIONAL JOB.
Thank you very much!
I like it.
Thanks!!
Looks really good but I would have kept the concrete and done decorative epoxy or what I have in my basement which is a polyurethane floor paint. Those coatings are self leveling so it would have leveled your floor and filled in the expansion joints.
We wanted to do that but it was too impractical and 3x as expensive.
@@ColoradoMountainLiving how so?
Is that flooring waterproof for wet and snowy boots and dogs
yes- we will also add door mats and use a mop if needed.
This video gives me PTSD from doing the flooring in my mother's house
hahahaha
Nice job guys
Thanks so much!!
