Great video as always Neil very clear and informative , only thing missing is the remedy! Can you just use a salt neutralizer or do have to hack it all off and start a fresh?

Hi Neil, I agree with Phil, we need your remedy in this. As I haven’t wandered around the property myself or had the full tour from yourself I can’t say for sure but I heard party wall from you and that it happens during a period of high humidity. From this I’m assuming you think it’s condensation related and should be fixed through adequate ventilation and keeping relative humidity to a reasonable level to prevent moisture settling on the wall. I can’t tell from the video though whether it’s just the party wall it happens with. Getting rid of all the salts will help as it’ll prevent that being where the moisture goes but if the moisture was ejected from the property it wouldn’t want to settle anywhere also. Unless it’s the neighbours fault which I’ve not seen yet personally.

You’re always going to get a high reading when there’s salts as they’re hygroscopic.

capilliary action sucks water out the ground and up the walls causing unsightly damp patches that can lead to fungus and mold in your house

@@martnava1661 yea it was a joke. Put a brick half in water and see how far water is sucked up.
