Yes the small tides are easier to fish as you seem to know but you can get away on a medium at a push. In this video I fished a 7.6m tide Swansea in the arrowsmiths book to give you an idea 👍🏼
never heard of a rag worm farm, many years ago i used to dig king rag from anglsey . some worms were 2 foot long. i bet the beach has had its heart dug out by now
I park west the end of - Loughor foundry, Gwydr place, Loughor. SA4 6TW. That’s the closest address I can find. I park by an old roundabout at a dead end and walk over the bank and I’m there 👍🏼

A gentle strike doesn’t harm but as long as your hooks are very sharp you should hook most flounders by winding in at a steady pace. They usually take the hook well in to their mouths and rarely come off. Thanks for watching!
Yes Paul it’s pretty easy. If you can find the loughor boating club there’s a a lane that goes past it and ends up by an old roundabout that’s a dead end. Just park by the roundabout taking care not to block any resident access. Then you walk up and over the sea wall and choose your spot. Any problems finding it don’t be shy to ask more questions 👍🏼🎣
It was mono line is this video. I know of anglers who spin at low water using flying-cs or similar but there’s something nice about chilling out, sitting on the box with a flask of coffee and watching the rods rattle!
We generally fish the muddy estuaries in the depths of winter because the cold seems to put the crab off. They’ll never all stop pinching your bait but between November and February as long as there have been plenty of frosts your baits will get a good soak. Regular casts are a must also. We target flounder on the surf beaches any other time of year partly to avoid the crabs elsewhere. Thanks for watching James
In South Wales flounder can be caught all year but they seem to be more prolific in the estuaries in autumn and winter. In the spring and summer you find more on the clean Sandy beaches (see our surf fishing video for bass and flounder). Now (January) I would expect them to still be in the estuaries in decent numbers. I’m not sure sorry mate. I bought this around 5 years ago at a guess. I hope you find one because they are a brilliant tripod. Also if you fish at night try to get the glow in the dark fittings which make it much easier to find your stand

This method was ok 40 years ago. Far better to fish quiver tip leger in the edge with6-8 lb line, size 12 hook, 1 oz lead and few head hooked creeper (maddies). In other words coarse fishing method.
Hi Paul, thanks for watching, I can see the fun in that method it’s always nice to scale down to the lightest tackle possible to catch fish for a sporting reason but the possibility of weed tide and wind could make fishing that light very difficult if not impossible. I would hate to make the efforts and not being able to fish because my tackle was too light for the conditions. All the best and tight lines.

We like to keep it pretty simple. We prioritise quality bait, hooks and we try to be in the right place at the right time 👍🏼

We go to Dragon Baits which is a Rag Worm Farm near Aberavon. Some anglers prefer wild worm but we have done very well on the farmed stuff 👍🏼
