  • TEXTURE- CRETE Installation Guide
    1. DEGREASE - Degrease the concrete surface with 4 - 8 fluid ounces of Grease Away degreaser to one gallon of water and then rinse thoroughly. Repeat the process until there is no sign of water beading on the surface.
    2. ACID ETCH - Etch the concrete surface with 1 part muriatic acid to 5 parts water. Agitate the solution vigorously with a stiff broom and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until the surface has sandpaper like texture.
    3. MIX GROUT - Reduce the Spray-Deck resin by 50% with cold water (1 part resin to 1 part water). Then add half the prescribed amount of premixed resin to the bottom of a clean plastic 5-gallon pail. Also add the prescribed amount of color dispersion. “See Mix Ratio Chart”. Slowly spinning a paddle mixer in a half-inch drill, add a bag of Spray-Deck Grout while also adding Spray-Deck Resin until the proper consistency is achieved. Let the material sit 2-3 minutes and remix, adding more premix if desired.
    4. SLURRY-COAT - If the surface is damaged or not the desired grout line color it would then require a slurry coat. A slurry coat consists of approximately 6 quarts of premixed resin to one bag of Spray-Deck grout. Mix the material to a soupy pancake like consistency (see #3). Then trowel or squeegee the material over the surface as thin as possible not exceeding ¼”. After the material has cured long enough to walk on it with stocking feet, carefully scrape any ridges or high spots smooth. When slurry coating on hot sunny days, mist the surface with water before applying the slurry coat to help increase material working time. Note: No Puddles
    5. LAYOUT - Layout the desired tape or stencil pattern making sure it is flat and attached to the surface properly. Mask off all adjoining areas.
    6. SPRAY - Mix the Spray-Deck grout with 4 - 6 quarts of premixed resin depending on weather conditions (see #3). Set the compressor petcock to 15 - 20 psi and the orifice on the pattern pistol to the second to smallest. Pour the mixture into the hopper wearing spiked shoes then spray 100% of the concrete surface in a circular motion. Once one hundred percent of the surface is covered, a second coat is applied using 3 to 7 psi of air pressure. The second to largest orifice should be used covering 50 - 70% of the surface. Note: Keep the face-plate of the pattern pistol parallel with the concrete surface.
    7. KNOCKDOWN - Using a pool trowel and wearing spiked shoes knock down the material to the desired finish. Once the surface has partially set up, slowly remove the tape or stencil and thoroughly clean the stencil with water and a stiff broom. Note: Trowel in One Direction Only.
    8. SCRAPE - After the appropriate curing time, gently scrape the surface with an 18” floor scraper and then sweep the surface vigorously with a stiff bristled broom. At this point a high velocity blower should be used to remove any loose material left on the surface.
    9. SEAL - After a minimum of 24 hours of drying time seal the surface with Increte Clear Sealer. Apply the sealer with a heavy-duty roller frame and phenolic core roller cover. Roll in all directions without leaving any puddles. After the first coat of sealer is tack free apply a second coat, repeat if necessary.
These application instructions are only guideline, intended for use by Increte System applicators.
