I highly recommend checking out some of Poppy’s music. Her songs are weird af, but they go hard. “Bite Your Teeth” and “Scary Mask” are my personal favorites by her.

also poppy’s vocals sound BEAUTIFUL in metal and industrial songs, if you guys ever feel up to it, give dead flowers by HEALTH and poppy a listen. her screams are insane for how delicate her voice is.
There are some artists who have the voice for metal, but went pop for whatever reason. It's a weird take, but I think Katy Perry has a voice that would mesh well with a metal band.

Poppy is the artist who can do both light and heavy songs. I first heard her 'Girls In Bikinis' and thought she was just... okay. But then I stumbled upon 'I Disagree' and 'BLOODMONEY', and they immediately became my favorite songs by her :D
This song goes so hard live!! Noah joining her for harmonies and the screams is just perfection.

When I first listened to this song, Poppy's singing reminded me a lot of GLaDOS from the Portal games and then I watched the video and there are a lot of things in it that seem to be inspired by the games. Awesome song and very glad I got to see it live. It was absolutely amazing!

I went on a bit of a dive into Die Antwoord after I played Far Cry New Dawn & Fatty Boom Boom was stuck in my head since every bad guy outpost was blasting it from their speakers 🤣 I couldn't find a whole lot to get into, but the drums on that track are epic.
Die Antwoord Is acquired taste. But like all things they grow with some time. I disliked them some at first but later on in my life I find them to be interesting. Great review boys love me some Bad Omens... and Poppy seems interesting. Hope to see more of both. Peace be upon youall

Idk if anyone mentioned this, but they did this live and it was SO fucking intense and amazing. Poppy sounds intense and amazing love, along with bits and pieces of Noah in he live version, so good. 🤌🏼
Unfortunately Poppy's vocal were tracked on the live bserion, you could see her mouth movements couldn't keep up with the lyrics.

I swear, Poppy is the person that got me BACK into Heavy Metal, man. She had no business making this song the HEAVIEST banger.
Poppy is awesome. She went from straight Pop with songs like 'Moshi Moshi' to Metal with songs like 'X'
So many people were like “Noah isn’t in this song” ohhh but he is.
He is ALL OVER THIS lyrically and production wise. It just proves that Bad Omens is more than Noah (which I have always loved all of the band not just Noah) and I love it so much.
He’s in there. Very low , but he’s there. I didn’t notice until I listened to the live version.
There is also a clip of him you can hear at the very end. He's the one doing that yell in the background.
Noah wrote the song, and is singing in the background, and the rest of the band is playing the music. Yet most people just complain that they're not in it. 🤷
The sound is definitely Bad Omens, I could tell it right from the start. I was able to hear Noah's growling near the end of the chorus. After watching the Live version and seeing where Noah was singing, I went back and was able to pick out where/when he is backing in this song (you need pretty good sound equipment to be able to really hear him).
And yet people complain. 🤷

Please listen to poppy!!! She's so diverse, she started pop,then went metal, and now is making some fun experimental pop! I recommend "Eat" for her heavy music and "Flicker" from her most recent album
If you've played the game Portal, you'll notice that her voice sounds like Glados. Also, the scientist has a Aperture Science logo on his shirt, so this is definitely connected to the game Portal.
So Noah wrote and produced this song. Live he joins her to preform this on stange. It's definitely a treat and Sumarian actual released the live video themselves. You'll get your minds blown.
He CO-wrote it with Poppy and her collaborator Garrett Nicholson, but yeah, he did production solo.

Listened the day it came out and this song is a repeat banger. The music video has such a crazy good story in it with the lyrics. Worth a few repeat watchings to get the idea

You should listen to the live it’s slightly different but they added a little something at the beat drop that they didn’t incorporate in the actual song

@@jordansowle5034 well yeah the little growl but he did the flow through the most of the song too, he was pretty much a backing vocal in the live version (the one with the black dress/suit), the version is more impactful and badass I think?

I've read that 'VAN' is actually an AI program from within the Bad Omens comic book universe and that in the story she erases Bad Omens, hence why they're not in the song (no Noah vocals / not the focus of the music video), because she's taken over. I'm still reading so I haven't gotten that far in the story, but if true I think it's a really interesting take on the song. I love this version but the live version is amazing!! I can't un-hear Noah's growls in the gaps 🙂

My first thought with the golden apple imagery is that it is a reference to the apple in the Garden of Eden and, more specifically, how giving in to the pursuit of 'forbidden knowledge' can lead to the downfall of man.
In this case, the knowledge is related to AI and the search for answers via science and not religion (or basically suplanting spirituality with scientism).
Also makes me think of thought experiments like roko's basilisk and how it compares to pascal's wager.
For real world example, just search for a video of Geordie Rose talking about the dwave quantum computer. He literally says standing before the computer was like kneeling at the altar of an alien god (like lovcraftian 'old ones'). He doesn't even fully understand how quantum computing works. (Dwave is the quantum computer brand owned by both google and NASA).
Note, I haven't looked up any official song explanations from the artists. This is just where my mind went. 🍎

I'm so glad yall discovered Poppy! She's so different, and I love her. She's known for how robotic she can be. My faves of hers are Bloodmoney and Choke. Some other good ones are her cover of All the things she said, Spit, Her and many others. She's been classed in baby metal, but she does a lot of different styles

SO happy you guys finally got to this. there were so many fans that were LIVID about this song because there’s ZERO noah vocals. but to me, it’s like a huge middle finger to everyone who thinks the only talent he has is his voice, and this song also highlights the band which a lot of people forget is a crucial part of bad omens. folio (their drummer) went so hard on this, and i’m hoping people are able to see just how talented he, nick, jolly, and poppy are. 🙌🏻

Poppy is a crazy artist. I don't listen to her all the time, but I've kind of followed her since The Film Theorists did a video on her. There was some bad stuff that went down with the director/producer that was doing those videos for her, but it's cool that she took a real heavy turn after that.
I'd like to see some more Poppy reactions. She has some really interesting stuff.

Ok, so she's basically a pop artist, but her two latest albums have been VERY MUCH metal influenced, metal related media has talked about her a lot, she was nominated for a metal Grammy... She's huge, basically. I've been a metalhead for about 20 years and I think she's awesome!
She's dabbled in metal and electronic music before those albums as well.
A video called Every Single Genre Poppy has Performed gives a pretty good summary of her discography as a whole.

Song is awesomeeeee. Bad omens did all music, Noah did production as well as lyrics were written by him and jolly!! :) only thing not omens is vocals! Poppy was asked to come in for vocals after the entire song was written!! They both are under Sumerian so it worked out perfectly! Matt and folio talked about it on the downbeat pod :)
