I could definitely see why in a few other ways, as creating online games is enough of a feat to get working (esp if you've never done it before), and trying to repurpose the other Spider-Man games from a single player game *into* a multiplayer game would basically be like redeveloping the system from the ground up. Couple that with several different New Yorks and managing all the styles together, constantly trying to keep people playing with content updates and progression systems, making all the content not only good but work in a multiplayer setting AND for a studio that's only used to making things work in a single player setting as a one time experience, and you have a LOT of ways that it can be messed up. Not to mention all that content is probably expensive as hell to create so if it failed then it could fail hard. Too big of a risk.
I get the hesitation after Suicide Squad, but just from the trailer, it looks like a some of Rocksteady's shortcomings were solved (clean UI, similar fighting styles). Rather than abandoning the concept because someone else screwed up, LEARN from them and prove YOU can do it better!
it would be cool asf if they made it part of sm3 as online mode and have a separate story solo mode but also have the online be story based too

All great reasons! Better to focus on SM2 DLC and whatever’s next for this franchise:)
Sick video bro really good watch
Thanks man!
I didn’t know it was cancelled.. *sadness noises*
Never even got a chance 😭

That’s what I’m saying 😭 I’m ready to be hurt again
This game sounds like a dream come true, too bad.
It would’ve done crazy numbers, regardless of if it was good or not
This wouldve been amazing as a dlc for sm2 or a side mode for sm3, no microtransactions or any of that funny business.
