    Honestly it’s interesting how in the first film Ransom was this really intelligent guy who thought of intricate ways to kill people and cover his tracks while allowing someone else to be the prime suspect while Miles is a vainglorious buffoon who’s ideas were all stolen from others and tries to hide in plane sight and misdirects, acting like he’s only possibly intelligent but secretly not knowing a thing. One can argue the reason she didn’t raise her hand is because like Helen, Peg is set with her word (an assistant’s) against powerful people’s (the disrupters/shitheads). Helen didn’t even face her when asking the others to step up, (only Birdy) because she knew Peg had almost nothing to do with the whole situation to have any significance to Miles’ downfall.

      Because Miles lied, claiming that the glass was meant for him. If someone was trying to kill Miles then there would have to be actual poison in the glass since he's not allergic to pineapple.
      Of course, because Miles is an idiot, he didn't consider that as soon as the police test the cup to see what kind of poison it was, all they'll find is whisky and pineapple juice implying that nobody tried to kill Miles and likely that Duke was the target. Blanc was thinking ahead, not realising at first that Miles is an idiot.

    • @jacobmonks3722
      @jacobmonks3722 Před rokem +5

      A lot of people are annoyed that it was so obvious apparently. I find the movie enjoyable regardless because the performances and scenery are still stunning, among some other reasons that I'll talk about more at length below, but due to the fact that all of the "clues" are just right in your face, I can kind of see why people think it's boring and/or stupid.
      Though I'd argue the fact that it's stupid is entirely the point. Glass Onion is not a whodunit, it's a satire of the whodunit. Rather than force you to pay attention to every detail like a traditional murder mystery, the movie tries to take advantage of the viewer's hightened attention to make you think of almost completely unrelated things to distract you from the fact that the killer is incredibly obvious. If the viewer just so happened to see Miles handing Duke the glass, then they are already aware of who the killer is and their engagement in the movie should be in how it is revealed to the characters, i.e. dramatic irony. You could argue it takes too long to get to the point, that's totally respectable, but I find it odd to criticize the movie for being too simple and dumb when that's exactly what the movie is trying to do, so you are inadvertently saying the movie did a good job.

And why did Miles allowed Blanc (best detective ever) to stay at the island, knowing that either the woman he tried to kill or her sister were there and would certainly tell the whole plot to Blanc himself? And also knowing that one of the two sisters was certainly who sent the box invite to Blanc?Miles actions after Duke told him she was dead make more sense. This is such an idiotic movie. The first one was so good. It fooled us with scenes where we missed clues and when we rewind the movie, we feel stupid for not seeing it before. But this movie just has two alternative scenes most of the time. For instance: One where he puts the glass on the table in the flashback and the other one, where he hands him the glas. And even more insulting was the scene where Bautistas character watches his girlfriend having an "afair". He´s being watched by Craigs character and only him. But later we see the exact same shot but Craigs character is not alone anymore just so the movie can say "see. You missed that part!". The movie just pretends to be smarter then you and when you ask "Wait wasn´t he alone?" or "Wait didn´t her hand him the glas?" and then the movie just lies and shows you a scene that didn´t actually happen. And it does it all the time. This is not a smart movie. It´s like somebody who pretends to be smart because he uses complicated sounding words that make you feel stupid, because you don´t know them. But the words are just made up and make no sense. Like this movie. It feels like a first draft and not a finished script.
