So well matched, instruments, strong musical personalities creating a strong ensemble personality, ideal for these Haydn op 50 quartets. Thoroughly enjoyed every bar! Couldn't be better.

…and bravissimi if you wish to applaud more than just one player.

This new fashion of "standing quartets" ruins the idea of quartet as an intimate union of public and four musicians but creates instead four disconnected soloists.

Not sure that it is such a new idea, I first heard and saw a Haydn quartet on BBC TV in the 80's, the Lindsays. These seem fairly well connected to me, can you can play it otherwise?

I like the standing up positions. Why? Because there seems to be more equality between the players. Every part has something important to say The first violin is no longer the boss.

@@hugovlugter Hi, not sure that was what the original comment meant, I thought standing as in " here we are this what we do ". Your idea may make more sense.

It’s perhaps better to contribute a comment that shows some knowledge of historical precedent than one based on rather limited personal preference.
