Our First (and last?) Visit to LEGOLAND New York

- We visit LEGOLAND New York so you don't have to. I give a tour of the park and show what to expect when you visit. In short, it's an overpriced, overcrowded park that is only saved by the charm of the LEGO branding.

Our updated video where we had a much better experience on a much less busier day: czcams.com/video/xvwu7ALjG5I/video.htmlsi=fPN4n9lkfO2heLDj
This is basically all amusement parks. Wait in line for an hour just for a 3 minute ride.
they never used to be that bad not that i remember anyway of course i always rode the popular ones early or only if i seen a short line but i think its gotten far worse with Technology and better reliable vehicles people can travel farther and more
I went to LEGOLAND California as a kid. Even then, I realized that the rides were not the reason to go, it was all the other attractions and to see all the amazing LEGO builds. I absolutely loved the LEGO cities they had built.
Yup…your description of this experience in 'Missing Pieces' was spot on. Cue screaming child and creepy circus music. Run… run for the hills!
Looks like a great time! It’s neat to see what the NY LEGOLAND park is like. I got to go to the Florida LEGOLAND way back in early 2020 and had a blast! Seeing your experience here makes me want to check out the NY park if I ever make it up there 😀
It’s not a trip to lego land without some sets to bring back home
Loved the cityscapes/architecture. Very cool.
They must not have gotten free tickets to “review” the park lol
Wow what amazing time! Sucks it was crowded. The LEGO built displays were fantastic! Glad you guys had a decent time. Excellent video my friend. 👍👍
I'm glad you had a ok time👍, LOVE you guys ❤❤❤
We took our twins to LEGOLAND in Carlsbad, California a couple of times (we live near San Francisco). We went mostly for the attractions and to see all of the amazing builds. We only went on one minor small roller coaster. I agree with a number of the comments for this vid … if it’s “rides” you want … go to a Six Flags or a Disney resort!
Despite the long lines, it seems like a really cool place with lots of fun activities. Wait until school starts and then let Clark skip a day and take him again while other kids are in school.
Don’t skip school!
@@larisalara6544 yes yes yes skip school. I’ve been doing school for 7 years and I can say this the fact 98 precent of what you learn is a waste is true.it’s a hole waste of your childhood
@@FrankHorigan What if there’s a field trip that day?
if their school had a class scheuldle that you got on monday that i used to have in my elementary school see if theres a day where its not too important go on that day
We didn't really like lego land in Florida either .it was way to expensive for what you got. The lines are even longer , like Disney long.
11:32 I’m 100% going on that, also 18$ FOR A CUP? And 8 dollars for a refill I’m just in shock lol.
It's $18 to drink for that day all you can drink. Then $8 to "recharge" the cup on an additional day.
After watching this video and seeing your experience with the park I’m rethinking about going there and going to six flags instead 😂
Go on a Monday or Tuesday so it isn’t ain’t that packed
Six flags was extremely packed the day i went there, the entrance line wait was definitely going to be over 2 hours, we had to leave too, it’s pretty hard going to any amusement parks atm xd
I’m just saying that if you want to go on rides your gonna have to wait in line
yep
Imagine going to an amusement park and having to wait in line? Who would have ever heard of such a thing. But in all honesty that park does look like it needs some work. Maybe more thrill rides. The LEGOLAND in California looks a lot better than that place.
@@extreme4157 i think it is because it’s so new.
@@extreme4157 The cali park is way better
Wait your meant to wait in line..?
You should go to the lego discovery center in Philly it’s basically a smaller version of legoland that’s indoors and has far less people.
Hope you get to go back and check out the hotel and the park again during a less busy time. Great video sir!
My experience on Legoland was actually great! You can get something that you can use to skip lines (I don't remember what it was called). So you can ride whatever you want, without waiting in a line for an hour 😃
I had a wonderful experience in Legoland in New York. We were there early on a Friday and Saturday and didn’t have to wait longer than 5-10 minutes. Most of the time, it was less than 10 minutes. The longest we had to wait was 15 minutes.
I went to LEGOLAND California around 4 years ago. The rides were pretty garbage (besides the dragon coaster). The lines were decently long but not as bad as it was for you. But the aesthetics of the park were outstanding. All of the Lego details, builds, and especially Miniland were truly amazing and made the visit worthwhile for me
Clark man is the only kid under 10 that has gone to lego land and didn’t cry through the whole trip
I love your videos so much bricks world
Imagine, lines at a brand new amusement park in the summer.. Shocking
Yes thank you! Like I can’t believe that’s even something they are complaining about LOL it’s laughable
That legoland swimmingpool is awesome set I bought it a few weeks back
The buildings like the capital or the Willis tower looked amazing, especially the One World Trade Center. I wish lego can make more type of sets like architecture Empire State Building but like other tall structures!
Wish I could bring my 3 kids and go to Legoland with you too!
Hope you guys had fun ! Even though it was a little rough 😁
Seems like they need to work out the kinks a bit and maybe control the # of people that are let in? Feels like a bunch of attractions just placed around a field too- not as well designed as Disney of course. I would love to buy a 10x size flower or bush for my landscape though :)
Seeing the monkie kid sets in the Ninjago gift shop was hilarious

Jjjj
The length of those lines is insane. BTW it's a beautiful park
This park was a bit empty, a lot of plain fields are just there, without any practical use. I recommend visiting (once possible) the original one in Denmark Billund, which is way better and as an extra, there's the LEGO House nearby as well!
I just took my two boys 4 and 7 last weekend. We had an amazing 2 days there. It is unfortunate you didn't make your trip about your son but about you and what you were willing to do. I was there for my children not me, so I waited in every single line some twice for the sake of the enjoyment of my children not I. I also spared no expense on food drinks and treats without complaining. Yes things were expensive but what would you expect at an amusement park? I'd be interested in hearing an interview of your son and his perspective since it is geared towards children.

We were there the day before school let out so wasn’t that busy. I can totally understand this guy’s opinion. Great assessment!
have to get the express pass so you can get ride reservations, or get to the park when they first open, or hit the popular rides towards the end of the day, have been to the Cali and Florida locations several times, always had lots of fun
We went to Lego land Windsor, UK last week. It was packed, at least 30 mins wait on all rides, most being over an hour. The miniature lego world was cool though.
windsor is elite went their on a school trip and stayed in the lego hotel we got to go where they put together the big models it was so fun take me back to year 3 :{
I have birthday today
Happy Birthday Dude! Have a magical day!
@@Tiadaghton37 thanks
Happy birthday!
When a person search up front with a Locomotive, it’s called the engineer
Greg have you or your wife been out of your house in the last 10 yrs? These are normal prices for any amusement park. Lines for rides? This is a brand new amusement park and open after people were locked in their houses for a year! What did you expect? Have you ever been to Disney, Great Adventure, or anywhere else? This is normal! You are acting like 2 babies the way you are complaining. The place looks amazing, plan on taking my daughter who is 11 with some friends so they can enjoy the place and enjoy the LEGO builds.
Not for kids rides. I went to Disney world right before the pandemic - waited about 10 minutes for little kid rides lol. Long waits for roller coasters are understandable and I guess this just isn't that kind of park anyway
Back in 2019 I went to LEGO land California and I saw the model used for the LEGO movie 2
What a fun time for the Clark man
That's cool that you got to go
The lack of trees in the park is an issue. Can't find any shade in large portions of the park.
It looks so open while Florida is more together
I went there a couple weeks ago it’s very cool
So cool
You are impatient
I can’t wait to go there I am going on thursday
Your wife looks like Pam from the office!!
Glad to see it wasn't all bad. It still looks very raw (new). I'm sure with time things will 'bed in' and look more established.
I think it looks pretty cool 🙂
that looks nice
Thanks for the video and comparing it to Knoebels. We'd only be going to see the builds throughout the park and shop.
We went back on a much less busier day and had a really nice time. There is certainly lots to see and some building opportunities. Here’s our updated video: czcams.com/video/xvwu7ALjG5I/video.htmlsi=fPN4n9lkfO2heLDj
Oh the queues. Legoland Windsor here in the UK is a nightmare too. The Lego sculptures are worth seeing though, and there's some Legoland exclusive sets to be had.
I was there last week, did the 2-night Vacation Package at the hotel with park tickets. Had the same thoughts as you, the wait times were rough (some rides even had posted wait times of over an hour), it seemed crowded and understaffed. I think you actually had more open options available then when I was there. During my visit the DJ’s Dizzy Disco Spin was closed, along with Dragon Jr and Fire Academy, and many food vendors were closed.
The park and hotel both seem understaffed, which means lots of things aren't open, when then means longer lines at the stuff that is open.
The big let-down at the hotel is that the pool still isn't open, despite still being listed as one of the amenities.
Overall I hope this is just a rough start for a new resort that can and will improve in the coming months/seasons. Despite being disappointed I would still like to try it again in the fall or next spring when the weather isn't so hot and hopefully when the crowds are a bit lighter.
I also hope the park will expand and add more rides and attractions to help spread out the crowds.
I definitely heard the snacks were too expensive. I’m going to bring my own.
Still puzzled by sets unavailable at shop from home but there’s shelves full of them.
I went the first season too and wasn't super impressed but I went again this past summer and it was better, still you want to avoid the high season months if at all possible. I guess that goes with most parks though.
U should wait a couple of months before going they just open it's going to be full maybe a year I'll take for it to slow down
You should visit Denmark and the real and first Legoland one day! The park is at least 10 times better, and contains so much history. If you go, you should also visit Lego House 🙈🇩🇰
I have gone to Legoland (Florida + California) like 5 or 6 times, the park, hotel, and lines seemed better than New York’s.
planning on Going to Legoland Florida (and Disney) the first week of February. Hopefully its less crowded. The water rides may not be open, but its all good. I hope to make a video of my family's adventure as well.
I wish I can go to, my biggest dream is to go legolan
That's mine too 🙂
Clark s got moves..😊go tilt a whirl. Don t eat before you go on it. Nice place but two many people for me.😎
29:31 Greg pretended to throw up that was hilarious 🤣
How old are you?
@@switzie3534 don't worry bout it
If you miss the indoor rides you will miss the fun😪
I visited lego land and Disney - land springs in Florida but in a week but in separate days and me and my mom and my sis are going again to disney and the play grounds are closed because of COVID and I didn’t see every thing there I saw the smal world friends lego movie shops and Duplo and got that lego cup And my fav rides a Disney were pirates of the Caribbean and little mermaid
The audio at 2:07 is perfect😂
Greg is there a PAB wall in the big no sure if I missed it ?
I was here yesterday the food and stores were amazing but there were only a few good rides and 1 ride that I really wanted to go one on was really full this park is good fro walking and adventures but after going on the rides it gets really boring
I think u guys should visit legoland malaysia once,I'm sure Clark will have fun there
24:18 ghostbusters hq which is a real building in new York.
after listening to your podcast and watching this video I can totally agree what you was saying about it being over crowded and too many lines for things but I think legoland California and Florida are the best ones
Went to legoland california on a Wednesday and walked onto everything.
I remember going here and every 10 minutes I needed to buy a water because it was so hot
It's because technically this is their soft open! I think they're all in once they finish building Pirate Land in July.
I wasn’t in to Lego but now I am in to Lego
It was not as bad as they portrayed. They are very negative. Had a great time two weeks ago and today. They are very cynical.
Cool
Greg your the best but after the trip can we have a house tour
It was fun back then
Place looked empty. Can't imagine what the waits will be when it's actually at capacity.
Greg fun fact the one in Missouri has that same man sleeping go to 25:35 to see it if you don’t remember
You're not hating. Most theme parks have short waits for kid rides. But this doesn't seem like it's a traditional park with coasters. Seems like an aesthetic experience that only has kid rides and a park that caters mostly to kids. And it being in NY and summer I guess the wait for rides is understandable
Yeah I agree these are wayyyy too overcrowded and they should have a limit of a few thousand. Especially when Coty said theres a new varient
I like your legoland video you have got a very nice legoland CZcams video you know yes I like legoland have a nice day and enjoy your day at legoland
LEE JUSTIN CZcams MAN
You think an hour wait is bad? Ive waited in a 4 hour line at Disneyland for Smugglers Run in like 90 degree weather with little to no cover and was fine. It's an amusement park, of course there's going to be lines.
You guys should have done magic mushrooms. It would've made the experience much better. Also, it's a new park of course the lines are gonna be insane.
I saw you guys there
Legoland , were the lines are the rides!
u guys are so negative i LOVED my visit and my child loved it so much we even stayed at the hotel
I always want to be in legoLand
Is fun there back 1or2 years ago I wasn’t in to Lego but is fun now 2021 I’m in to Lego
I went to Legoland in 2019
Nice
I showed my mom this on Google and she said food to tell my dad
I was there today
7:25 when he said 75 degrees 75 gregrees
You need to get to the park 30 minutes before they open
Yo greg im going to legoland Florida tomorrow
Lego land Florida is so much better
Hi my name is Ava I love your channel
Wow for a LEGO themed park it looks pretty terrible
Yea the LEGO label slapped on the theme park sure is the cash grab but the attractions suck
well right through the gate you made a critical error. You never do the rides in the front of the park first. Literally everyone piles into the lines there. While you waited and got frustrated in the front, there were zero lines in the back. Make the journey past all the stuff and scoot ahead of the crowds. Ride and experience things further back and make your way back to the front when the crowds have thinned out.
