Want to correct myself that DRK's Living Dead functions as "so long as you are healed for the total amount of your HP within 10 seconds", not actually getting to 100% in 10 seconds. It's a relatively new change with DRK that I still have PTSD over from previous patches.
This is great! Thank you for an awesome guide with awesome info and not being condescending about this topic. Tanking in any MMO is pretty intimidating when I'm first starting off, playing a healer(scholar) is kind of my "easy way out" as I've mained heals in every MMO I've wanted to prog in since WoTLK; and I've always found DPS quite boring unless they have a lot of group utility. So, that always leaves me with learning content and progging with a healer, using the "offspec" to level or grind, and finally coming back to Main/Off Tanking.
I really enjoy the responsibility and challenges of tanking. The demand for tanks is always nice too as I'm very very shy, even online, making it hard to find groups for mid/endgame content as a DPS or Healer. Although, it seems FFXIV is one of the few MMO's (at least what I've experienced so far) where groups are waiting on Healers instead. Nice change of pace there for me personally :)
Your name sounds incredibly familiar, and I feel almost certain I've played with a 'Zivalene' before... I know it's not your character name in FF. Maybe a different MMO or your previous videos but I can't place my finger on it. Ah, sorry for the tangent and thanks again!

My username is my common name across most games, though I don't use it as my WoL's name (which you can see all throughout this video). I came up with it when I rolled a random name in WoW about 15 years ago, but I only played it for 3 days and never looked back. Not sure when we met, if we did, but thanks for the conversation!
Been playing solo Healer through the ENTIRE game as every expansion came out. After finishing Endwalker, my buddy finally convinced me to level some other classes lol.
My first DPS i got to max was Reaper, and ive dabbled in a couple others like Bard, still need to decide a caster.
Then finally worked up the courage to level a tank, and i picked Warrior. It wasnt as bad as i thought it was gonna be honestly lol. Tankings been pretty fun to learn!
@Gameorama91 Glad to hear you've been enjoying your adventures and being brave enough to get outside your comfort zone! Healing was my biggest fear after starting with DPS, but it was worth learning the in's and out's of every class along the way!
What sort of playstyle do you like? Maybe we can get you sorted with a caster!
