  • Described by many who have ridden at this amazing venue as "The best Grasstrack in the UK", Rhodes Minnis is steeped in history. With it's undulating straights and steep drop into the corners, where only the bravest of the brave have succeeded over the years, this circuit is certainly not for the faint hearted. As they say, this track sorts out the men from the boys. Just watch this video to see why, and see how brave you've got to be to ride this track well. Listen to what the riders think of this most spectacular circuit and how it has to be ridden. Some fantastic highlights of the thrilling heats and finals from the modern day riders. Things don't always go according to plan, and this unusual track can catch out the very best riders. Riders include: Kelvin Tatum, Joe Screen, Paul Hurry, Jeremy Doncaster, Lewis Denham, Jamie Rodgers, Matt Read, Sebastian Tresarrieu, Ivor Matthews/Mick Stace, John Halsey/Jason Glenie, Colin Blackbourn/Martin Bailey, Paul Whitelam/Kevin Jones, Duncan Tolhurst/Rob Patterson, Matthew Fumarola/Andi Wilson, Richard Thomas/Kevin Woodley, Rob Bradley/Shaun Simpson, Shaun Harvey/Danny Hogg, Lester & Ant Goodwin.

At 17:19 me and my brother in law are marshalling the Sunday of the meeting. It was a great day and a new experience as we were both track marshals from Lydden Hill. We did spend a lot of time replacing the paper flags on the edge of the track after each race. Graham Hurry even came and marshalled at Lydden for a car race later in the year at out invitation.

They tried to promote grasstrack here in Northern Ireland but it never took off which is a real shame as this looks fantastic. Instead we went down the pure road race route which is also very exciting.....

That is a great shame, as if you have the right land, then Grasstrack can be incredible to ride, and watch. I also watch the "Pure Road Racing" from Northern Ireland, and it's wicked.

Not like the real Grand Slam of the 1960's then. They were full on 12 lap finals for true grass track riders. Who!e sport became watered down because of speedway riders
