The 1980 movie “Somewhere in Time” starred Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.
In the movie, John Barry’s theme was linked to Rachmaninoff’s 18th variation on a Paganini theme.

Yeah, I recorded that originally in 1990 and have been playing it publicly ever since. Over time the arrangements evolve, usually without my thinking about it. When we do a take down for sheets, people want to play what they heard on the album.. Sorry... but glad you like the current version.

Emile, the first time I heard Rachmaninoff’s 18th variation on a Paganini theme, I was 5 years old sitting in front of a small screen black and white TV listening to Librace play this on his Friday night show. I'm now 69, so that was 64 years ago! I have a photographic memory and still remember this. I fell in love with piano music from then on. Too poor to ever take piano lessons or own a piano, I bought album after of album of great pianists. You are a master of arrangement and executing those arrangements. I have a Master Degree in Economics and a minor in Music appreciation. You are a master at making the piano come alive. I found you by accident and now subscribe to your channel. God Bless and keep the beautiful music flowing!!!!
