Greetings from Scotland! Being lost for words is a normal reaction when Diana sings because she is totally unique in the world of female vocalists! Diana was just 18yo here and she is 20yo currently but I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! You need a little back story to understand what helped "create" this unique phenomenon:- Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
