Seventeen is still my ult group but I totally understand the downsizing. I used to fully collect DK and Hoshi and last year I started just fully collecting DK and selectively collect Hoshi. I am still keeping what I have of Hoshi because I love his collection. Going forward, I still collect all of Hoshi’s Korean album photo cards and basically collect almost everything for DK.
We are definitely opposites when it comes to selectively collecting because that is all I do HAHHA I could never spend money on pcs that I do not really find cute just because I have to keep collecting through a template. That honestly makes me stressed 😭 Since I am a student as well, spending that much money is really not an option tbh. Love to see people make changes to their collections tho since they need to grow with the person
I have the same reasons for downsizing seventeen, thank you for talking about it. They’re so funny and great I just have other groups that I’m more into. I plan on selling most of my BTS and 17 stuff and buying more NCT, EXO, SHINEE, le ssarafim and smaller group things.

your downsizing on seventeen really help me because i'm going through something similar. i used to collect my top 3 scoups, wonu and dk but i just recently let go of my wonu collection because i accepted that i was kinda impossible for me to mantain that specially after fml and heaven. I know they're just going to keep adding versiones and it annoys me. It helped the moment i realized that even when i have money i dont spend it in svt photocards i just prefer buying for other groups.
I've wanted to collect Joshua mainly because he is my ult bias. So far I'm only just trading my pulls from albums and it's really hard I definitely see why you've downsized seventeen. Seeing other people downsize their collections really helps me in downsizing hahaha. Loved the video ! Have a great vacation :D

I don't collect Seventeen, but I do collect ATEEZ. I fully understand doing a downsize since I did one of my ot8 sets last year. Some of my Yunho cards I wish I had back, but I'm starting to pick more of him up again because he's top bias wrecker. My downsize wasn't because of music, it was the number of sets I had for one era (movement) that really told me I needed to slow down.
That being said, I fully understand your reasoning for wanting to downsize. If you're not vibing with the groups music, that's a reason not to be motivated to finish. I havent gotten there with any of my collections, but I have started to buy less albums or even just the poca (platform) versions if I'm dissatisfied with the tracks.
Honestly any reason is good for a downsize because its your money and if you don't wish to keep collecting, its totally fine.

i love your videos, you inspire me with me starting to collect (trade/buy). For now, i just collect the pcs from the albums i'm buying. So even videos like this, downsizing, is super helpful to me! So thank you for explaining each reason and each step thoroughly :)
I find selective collections to be hard to be satisfied with. I like knowing that I have all the cards for a particular album, all Korean albums, or all Korean + Japanese albums. My only exception would be the kit version photocards. I pretend they don't exist unless I feel a strong urge to own that photocard. This is partially why when I downsize a collection, I will completely let go of it. I rarely keep more than two photocards from a collection I have decided to let go of. If I find myself wanting to keep more than four photocards I will go through what I kept again after a few days. This has helped me decide if I actually want to keep the cards because I actually genuinely like them or if it's because I feel sad that I am letting go of a collection that I was once really excited to work on. Basically, am I having a hard time letting go because it's a card that want to keep or because I feel like I will have nothing to show for all the time, effort, and money I put into this collection.
I am a selective collector and I find it extremely satisfying! I like to think of my collection as having all of my favourite pcs of my bias or bias line, (I don’t collect pcs I don’t love or find cute) and because there’s no rules and I decide what photocards to collect, I can easily expand or downsize my collection at any time. I will say what helps is having an A5 binder because I personally find them a lot more aesthetically pleasing and it’s much easier to complete a four pocket page as opposed to a nine pocket page, cause I hate looking at blank spaces! One last thing I will say, because I decide what to collect I have a lot of pobs/lucky draws because I find them more special and they’re often the cutest pcs of an era! That being said, each to their own and the most important thing is to be happy with your own collection!

Downsizing always seems so scary to me. What if I change my mind after I got rid of most of them? :O So I really like your approach of putting them somewhere you don't necessarily see them and finding out that way if you would really miss them. I'm thinking about downsizing one of my collections a little bit, but I'm already struggeling with actually putting up the cards I don't collect (like pulles of other members or dubes) for sale/trade .. so yeah. Maybe I'll get to it in the next months xD
Selective collecting is fun! I do that for the remaining RV members, where I only collect a certain number of cards for each member and only the ones I like the most or look the best in a set (even tho I did collect them in full for Feel My Rhythm and Birthday) .. it's definitely way less pressure and your collection is a bit more personal in a way.

I double collect WonCheol and I've been debating who to downsize and I like your thought process on which has the bigger downsize pile and also the multiples of four. The thought feels harder for me since I already am on an A5 so how can I cut down even more? haha But I think I'll try that out for my collection. Thanks for your video!

Omg... right when im thinking about stop collecting seventeen.... Seventeen is the only group im collecting and the only group i fully stan. But recent issue abt them and their encore concerts bothered me so much to the point that i dont want to listen to their songs anymore. Im overwhelmed and i dont feel like i can call myself a carat. They used to be my source of happiness, but i no longer find that happiness and this aching me so badly. And also, i dont find "the spark" i used to have seeing my collection... I know im being dramatic, duhhh its just kpop. But idk... anwww, the way you say about separating ur about-to-downsize collection make up my mind. Im gonna try that and decide it by the end of the month i guess (to see if its just a phase or im just being dramatic lol)? So thank you very much!
