All your videos are helpful. But as a hobbyist that doesn't shoot all the time, this video is so beneficial. It is a good checklist to you to engrain key points to using ones camera to the best of its ability. Thanks.
Don’t let the lack of picture profiles limit your creativity, of course you can create cinematic videos with the a6100 just as good as any other camera
Shoot Sony 'standard' creative color profile and turn down the contrast and the saturation, you'll get a flat-like color profile that'll allow you to color grade in post.
Great video! I just upgraded from A6000 to A6400 and coincidentally have all the lenses you recommend plus the 10-18. I set my A6400 to NTSC and again have this annoying NTSC message when I start up my camera. The A6000 could be tweaked through an app but that no longer works in the newer cameras. Do you have any suggestions?
Hello MountMedia! I have a question about the GoPro Hero 8 Black, can you get good shots and videos at night? Is there a good setting? I need help because im new in the camera business and want some good shots on a Elton John concert!
@@MountMediaChannel Hello! Thanks so much for replying! This Tamron lens works good for both photography and video and also it's similar to a 35mm full frame lens, I mean cropping? Sorry to ask to many questions, I'm a beginner and don't understand too much about these stuff :S
Just subscribed to your channel! Looking for some guidance as I am new to my A6400 camera and gopro 8. I do a lot of back country snowboarding and would like to get good videos with my A6400 and am having a hard time setting it up to keep the rider in focus. We ride a lot of pillow lines, jump builds, and tree riding. Hoping you could guide me into some settings I can leave my camera on for filming this kind of stuff. Seems every video I have come across is just for Vlogs and cinematic videos. Looking through your page and seeing that you are a skier thought you may have better insight. Thank you.
May I ask For a beginner, which gamma & Color mode setting would you recommend for a new make up tutorial CZcams channel with no color grading needed In your opinion? Using a Sony a6300 camera Recording in 1080 P 24 frames per second until my wife upgrade laptop for 4K editing!
Hé! I've a question :) I got an Sony A6100 and noticed that some people were able to get steady shots out of this camera, while mine a shaky. I am considering, buying a gimball but is there anything more I can do apart from a steady shot lens and a gimbal?
Thank you for making this video. This is Himanshu from India..I started my channel "BangaloreAndMore" Planning to buy Sony a6400 with Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens and sony 50mm f1.8 lens. Please suggest for good compatible gimbal to shoot cinematic footage.
Why do the filmmakers think an aps-c camera is the worst thing in the world? I mean, you can shoot what you want on that, you dont need a full frame to have good results, but whey you give an aps-c to a filmmaker they say nooo, that sucks!
Imo 1/50 or 1/48 shutter rule is stupid. Why intentionally blur and make video less detailed??? Why not 1/80 for example. most stupid excuses i get is that Hollywood uses it.
Film yourself 1/50 and 1/500 waving your hands around. The slight motion blur looks natural. Seeing your detailed hands wave back and forth at 1/500 doesn't look nice to your eyes. However, I see your point that you'd want try to go slightly higher.
for not being a "professional" you have extremely great insight and wonderful interacting voice. thank you sir
Thx!
Sus
I enjoyed the video. I think if I watch a few more of these I'll finally get the hang of using my A6600 with the 18-105.
got it it’s really amazing.. get it asap

great video!! your voice is very calming
What a smooth voice 😁
Thank you very much sir, this video was very helpful and informative. Would like a in dept video of each points that you covered in this video.
Amazing tips! Thanks a lot!
Tutorial of your setup. Your camera/image looks awesome.
Thanks a lot for the helpful advice!
Thank you, nice tips. As for the ND filter, why do you suggest the 6-9 stops and not the 2-5 stops?
thanks for the advice
I've noticed the smooth morph-cuts in the talking segments... ;)
Great vid, thanks!
Bravo et un grand merci pour cette video clair et efficace, avec des explications extrements utiles qui vont à l'essentiel 👏👍🤘
降低锐度来获得更强的电影感,第一次听到这个说法,我决定试一试!
Thank you so much sir. Very useful tips

Grazie mille.. Thank you Sir for sharing your insight

Brilliant, loved every bit of it

so, a6100, missing the colour profiles, is not good for cinematic videos?
i'm curious as well

how much did you buy the a6400 for? Because i am trying to buy either a6100 or a6400 for around $750

Nice tips, its helpfull tho!
Amazing 🥰😀
Excelent!!!
If i got HLG should i use it instead of Cine4?
Nice Video
Is a6100 is enough for short films?
Im considering the same. with a 35mm lens
Should be able to do a Indie film with proper 35, 50 & 85 prime lenses.
I am choosing it for the easy moment and low size files.
very informative video, just a quick question what will be the shutter speed for 1080 120 frames..?
240
Thanks sir
Do you use your 6400 and a sigma 16 for your in house vlogging when your talking? Or something else looks really good
No, for this purpose I use the Sony 35 1.8 (APS-C)
@@MountMediaChannel on your 6400? You gotta get out there and make some sweet cinematic videos more lol
Nice video! Question, which lens you recommend both for video and photography without having cropping in the image? Thanks!
If you are looking for a prime lens - the 35 1.8. But there are now new zoom options that are really very good. For example, the Tamron 17-70 2.8
@@MountMediaChannel Hello! Thanks so much for replying! This Tamron lens works good for both photography and video and also it's similar to a 35mm full frame lens, I mean cropping? Sorry to ask to many questions, I'm a beginner and don't understand too much about these stuff :S

I hesitate to take the A6600 or wait for the A6700 with the 4k at 60p, a better Rolling shutter and USB-C
I would love to see that A6700. But I'm not sure if and when it will be released.
Which lens did you use during the cinematic shots in the video?
Different lenses. I would say mostly the Sony 18-105 and the Sony 35 1.8 - check out the links in the video description.
@@MountMediaChannel I have the 18-105 and I love it:) My always on lens

If you don't want to color grade you shouldn't use the picture profiles - so everything on standard

You could shoot in 1080/120 and then use slow motion. (for B-Roll for example)
Which do you think is best for video, sony a6100, 6200, or 6300?
There is no A6200 - I would get the A6400
You used Sony 35mm 1.8 lens for this video? what is your distance to the camera?
About 1,5 meter
