স্বাধীনতার পর বাংলাদেশের ব্যাপক পরিবর্তন হয়েছে। আর এর অংশীদার সমাজের বিভিন্ন শ্রেণী-পেশার মানুষ। এমনটাই মনে করেন, বিশিষ্ট অর্থনীতিবিদ ড. হোসেন জিল্লুর রহমান। তবে তার মতে, জিডিপি প্রবৃদ্ধি কর্মসংস্থানমুখী নয়। পাশাপাশি অর্থনীতির শাসন চলছে সংকীর্ণ রাজনৈতিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গী থেকে। আর অদক্ষ ও জবাবদিহিতার অভাবে দেশের ক্ষতি হচ্ছে বলেও মনে করেন ড. জিল্লুর।
