- In this easy cooking video, I cook a beef chuck roast on my Weber Kettle charcoal grill. First, I seasoned the roast with kosher salt and Johnny's Seasoned Pepper, and then cooked it until the internal temperature reached about 135-140 degrees F, and seared it at the end. The temperature of the grill was around 325 degrees F most of the time.

When a younger woman, I was a single Mom of a hungry son and we couldn't afford steak. Soonce in a while I would buy chuck roast. I fileted it to get a thinner steak and grilled it on my old Weber grill. Best steak I've ever had! The got wise at the grocery and chuck got pretty high there for a while! Great steak tho..
Sounds good! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve tried a few methods with the Chuck Roast and don’t have any complaints. Most people are amazed that a Chuck can be so good on the grill.
You Sir are a genius! Been trying to think of a different way to feed my family besides the same old pot roast. Thank You!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Going out to the backyard and try it right now. Thanks
Good call on the sear, the sear is where flavour lives!!! Looks delicious
Thank you!
man, thank you for keeping it simple!!!
I appreciate the simplicity.
Looks delicious.
👍👍
"Kick the tire an light the fire" that's some southern hospitality for sure. Cheers brother.
Love that you did a unique method!
Getting ready to try this method now! I normally just put them in a crockpot with vegetables but I'm going to try to grill this one
Putting your meat on the coals before they’ve ashes over?
I love grilled chuck. It's cheap, experiment and enjoy. I'm going to try the sear first then wrap in foil with green onions and go indirect while I cook other stuff on the hot side.
Hi Jim, I love chuck roast and yours looks so delicious.
Thanks Rick!
Gret video thanks for sharing. I am happy to see you are up and running again. I hope the fires have stopped in your area. I hope you have a blessed week.

enjoyed your technique, thanks for sharing
Great video! I love your videos. I’ve learned a lot. Thanks! Keep it up. John A.
Thank you!
I love chuck steaks. Nice job.
Fun cook.!.! Chuck "roast" is a pretty forgiving (and versatile) cuts: either low-and-slow or hot-&-fast. I don't mind this way either. I try to get one with a nice bit of marbling (local butcher said it could be more tender because it is from the rib-end) and slice thin against the grain for tender results. Putting it on the rotisserie is a fun project too...let it baste itself in its own rendering fat.
Thanks! The rotisserie sounds interesting!
Chuck roast is good in my home. We appreciate a hot meal. Chuck eye is what I usually buy for special occasions.
quick and simple supper 2 thumbs up.
Thanks!
good to see some kettle cooking mate, great job there
Thank you!
I always braised or steed chuck. Going to try this
Good job on that man.
Thank you!
Man This helped me out so Much!! Awww, She So Cute! Boy That Tail Is Just-a-Waggin' LOL
Glad it helped!
I can tell the times have changed because I just paid 17 dollars for a 2.6 lb chuck roast.
DELICIOUS AND GOOD THANK YOU

Nice Demo Tos I like them like that I hadn't tried one one kettle, I've been using that to smoke with
Thanks! I think chuck roasts are good this way!
great color and juiciness.
Thanks!
I love your dog!
Thank you!
It looked good.
Thank you!
I like to poke garlic clove down into my roast, Then Char broil it JUST LIKE A STEAK. People don't know that what steaks are? Different cut of ROAST ~ When you buy the roast press down on it. Feel for bones and gristles . Don't buy it you feel them. ITS A TOUGH ROAST. > My roast just as good and juicy as a Ribeye. Texture between a ribeye and NY strip YUM OH LORD THERE TENDER
That steak looked real nice ! Man I wish I could just grill here in my apartment
Thanks!
Same they got some bogus rule can't grill on my balcony where I pay my rent and bills but maybe one day I'll risk it lol
@@nielascension958 same thing for mine, I risk it at night, no one will know! Go for it
Thanks for the video. Glad to see another way to bbq them. Next one will be this way!
Buying some Johnnys seasoned pepper now!!
How man, this meat looks delicious , congratulations.
Thank you!
My dad would marinate a
blade chuck roast in beer, A-1 sauce, onions, garlic, seasonings overnight and throw it on the Weber grill, delicious!
Sounds great! Thanks for commenting!
I'm trying this right now on my Traeger. Fingers crossed.
If you havent tried this, do it. I am very impressed and not chewy at all.
We always did chuck roasts on the grill when I was growing up, we weren't rich. Sure it's a little tougher, but the flavor is better than any other steak I can think of and if you slice it thin it makes the best steak sandwiches.
I agree! Thanks for commenting!
Yup !!!!!!!
I’ve never seen a chuck Roast cooked that way before on a kettle grill before.
Another superb vid. Could you do a vid on beef brisket please? 😀
Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for some affordable brisket. It's kind of expensive around here!
A new video oh hell yeah, I'm hungry let's do this,
Just like a steak, I was going to sear it first then put on the cool side till°135. It's just me and the wife so I'll slice it thin and use the leftovers for stew.
Good video bro.
Thank you!
I always tell people don't sleep on the chuck roast It has a little more chew but they're are just as delicious as any other steak
I always grill chuck roast, cheap and flavorful cut of meat. Never found it to be tough or chewy.
I Got a question, is there a particular location I Should Put The Grill Probe Clip thermometer? I Noticed You Have It about 4-5 inches away From The Slow 'N Sear, Is that the best location for a Accurate Pit Temperature Read, it doesn't matter IYHO? I Have The *ThermoWorks® Smoke™ Remote BBQ Alarm Thermometer* Thanks Brotha!
I'm not really sure where the best place is. That's just where I happened to put it!
Geeze..I was going to give up on steak because no matter what I do it turns out tough🙉 I may try this first👍
Don’t give up. Keep on believin
I plan on doing one on a Gass grill and sear then oven for a couple of hours on 325 and put on Hawaiian sliders and Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce
I’m curious, could you sear it first then offset it? Or does the sear need to be at the end?
You can sear it first. I've done it both ways but it seems to turn out juicier when I sear it last.
@@TosTinManEasyCooking I’m gonna take your word on it boss and go sear last ahaha. Thanks for the quick reply, love your channel my friend
I have ah jumbo joe with ah craycourt cast iron grate indirect charcoal salt an pepper 3.5 hrs dam near guaranteed perfect never open lid I do have ah analog thermometer bottom of top vent 225-250 makes perfect anything always season meat to table tastes it hard to go wrong
😋
I just put my roast in the oven ain't nothing like a tender roast
At the beginning of the video whats the name of the band and music. Good video
It's CZcams music. It's called Tonto.
Once you season it you basically gotta give it a massage to put the seasonings all in the insides and corners
If to cut thin that will be great for sandwich
Hi Jim have you ever thought of getting a air fryer and doing some video’s using that?
A few other people have suggested that so maybe so. I’m in the process of moving at the moment.
Hay it looks real good but I think this cut needs low and slow. I'm going to try this but will take internal temp to 200 to render. With a long rest time. Prob 1hour. I bet it will fall apart. 🍻👍
I do these all the time for steak night.....I can afford ribeyes or whatever.....but my family andI love this....cut against the grain and slice thin when you serve. I sear mine first then move of the heat for about an hour....sever with baked potatoes, salad and French bread. I can feed the family a steak dinner with all the fixings for under $20 sometimes depending on the price
Gotta have some whostershire and dales
Please, cook a fish. I love your videos.
Thank you!
👍
Im giving this a try today. I could hear Annies toenails dancing on the wood floor awaiting. My dog, similar size, just swallows too. Hardly no chewing…
Where do you people live? A roast 3.3lb roast in Chicago is $24.00
California
I'll bet a good 30 sea salt tenderize would make it more delicious
Unless you are making shredded beef why would you temp it over 125?
Chewy, got it. Thanks
U not gone rinse it??
I expected you to start moving after you ate a piece. I'm sure this was good but I would have to combine longer.🐂🙂
LOL
Hey Jim that Chuck Roast looks great, I will try this on my Weber Kettle :-) A "BIG" thumbs up :-) Our 49ers are doing great once again :-) When you have time check out my recent video from 3 weeks ago of my Gunpowder BBQ Chuck Eye Steaks video :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Thanks Fred! Yeah, the 49ers are doing great!
I made 3 of these at a party and told everyone it was Tri-Tip....😛
Did they like it?
@@TosTinManEasyCooking Bro it was delicious...I sliced it thin ..
I watch grilling videos just to see all the kitchen cross contamination. It pleases me.
4 dollars a pound! Dang that’s dirt cheap - I just bought a chuck roast from Ralph’s and it was I think 9 dollars a pound !
I got a 3lb chuck roast the other day cost me 20 now
That roast today 1/24 is 3 times more expensive. Bidenomics at work. I just paid 25.00 for one that size. Crazy.
Simply beautiful.
over night in a bag of italian dressing - then chopped up for street tacos 👍
Great idea!
@@TosTinManEasyCooking I used your reverse sear method last night, oven then @ 350 then grill. The steak was perfect!
that thing looks less like a roast and more those steaks those restaurants give you free if you eat it in under an hour
LOL
Now that same cut costs $53.00 at a costco 😢
Why u don’t clean the meat?
What was your final tempature? And it's chewy ,rank amateurs, lol.
Is that it chiweinie? I have a half dachshund half Chihuahua, but he’s black and brown, and he looks like that
Yes, she is!
June 2022, the price has skyrocketed. What changed? 3.99 to 6.99/Lb Hate to see the price in the next 2 years.
Sear it first so the juices start in side
Ill fix it
Grill guys watching like:👁👄👁
Your dog is sweet. What breed is it?
Thanks! She's a chiweenie. Chihuahua and Dachscund mix.
No Rinse off
Hot and fast on a thick roast like that? 🥺
Price has doubled.
Wow, how inflation affected the price of meat.. that would be like $30 now.. such a shame 🤦♂️
