Today we shoot Street Photography but not with a 35mm film camera but with an instant film camera! Shooting with the instance wide 210 out on the streets posed some challenges but ultimately was very enjoyable to shoot. I''d recommend you guys give it a shot for yourself, especially the beginner film photographers!

You shouldn't shake the instax photo, it's gonna mess up the chemical process~
Just lay it still for 2 mins, you will get the best result.

I'm Laughing, Do not Get it?? Who ever said of shaking the Polaroid and Instax was base from a song.. And also that the Instax Wide for ISO 800 is Pretty Contrasty, and Kills the Shadow detail... Next time in Back Lite, use Flash Fill...

That thing with 210 or 300 is every image gets dark when there is not direct sun light the trick that works for me is: to cover the light meter with my finger and also select the light option on the back side of the camera or side for 210 especially when there is no sunlight falling directly on the subject or around.

  • @msandersen

Hey I learned something; I didn’t know the Notes app could do that. Great to know. Can’t say instant cameras with plastic lenses fixed at f14 is my cup of tea, but it’s a great concept. The original Polaroids always looked funky and different, quite clever for their time, so the fact most Instax cameras look like toys is perhaps fitting. I’m more attracted to the idea of the Instax printer, I only wish they made it for the Wide format.
And yes, I had a giggle at you “shakin’ it like a Polaroid picture”. Another photographer who has a CZcams channel prints them out for people he meets, and he says the first thing EVERYONE around the world does is shake it. Quite funny. But he reckons his Instax printer an important part of his kit, as it’s a great conversation starter and opens doors.

You can put your finger over the light sensors to get higher exposure. This is especially useful if you have a bright sunny background.

Love the art though, and I never realized how easy it was to thrift amazing cameras until I saw your videos!

    • @joshjacobson9846

The film is 800 ISO film which puts it mid range for lower light situations. Aperture is static at f/14 and shutter speed can be manually pinned to 1/64 or 1/200. On auto, I’m not sure if it can pick between those or not. Then it’s paired with a meh flash for anything past 30-50cm.
All that to say, the instax 210 (and most instax) work well when there’s a lot of natural light and/or you work within range of the flash. Setting it to 1/64 helps some but, doesn’t fix all.
Just a limitation of the platform
