The fact that Nazenin was this rude to Nurbanu meant that she had it in her the entire time while serving ‘Cecilia’. With her new authority, her hidden feelings just arose from its shadows

I dont think Valeria realises that even if she gives birth to a prince, her son has no fighting chance since his half brothers are all grown adults. Plus, Fatma Sultana is only using her and when she's done with Valeria, she will probs kill her son since she only supports Mustafa.

I find it funny how Valeria gave birth to a girl and became a sultana while Hurrem gave birth to a prince and a sultana and people still called her hatun. It just doesn't make sense, I understand people didn't like Hurrem, but rules are rules and facts are facts. It came way too easy for Valeria, it real life things certainly weren't like that.
Of course they weren't, mahdievran was called hatun too, hurrem sultan, and the sisters of suleiman were the only women to be called 'sultan', everyone else was a hatun. Mahidevran hatun.
Valeria wasn't sultana, she called herself sultana, and harem girls probably didn't get it. And in real life, they weren't all sultanas when they gave birth to a boy. For example, Mahidevran was always called hatun. Hürrem was also called hatun until the day she married.
@Aishiki Dutta Before hurrem, none concubine get title Sultanah..They was receive the title hatun only. Before 16th centry, the title hatun was use for sultan's mother and consort. But during suleiman reign, he change and give title sultanah for sultan's mother (Valide Hafsa Sultan), his legal wife (Haseki Hurrem Sultan) and to all imperial princess. And suleiman concubine like Gulfem and Mahidevran, they only get title Hatun.
Since they was not legal wife of Sultan, so they will not get title Sultan and not have influence in harem Sultan.
They will get title Sultan and higly position in the harem if they become Valide Sultan only

This series called Mahidevran the Haseki sultan as well 😂 when the title was created by Suleiman for Hurrem.

I found it really annoying how Valeria was being referred to as ‘sultan’ after giving birth to a girl despite all the adult princes, while Hurrem was still called ‘Hatun’ up until she had beyazid

First, Valeria was never a Sultan just a concubine Hatun, Cariye Or Kadin. Second, Suleiman had only one Haseki and wife, Hurrem, who was a true Sultan. And Nurbanu was more powerful than Valeria in every way.
If you're talking about the show, mahidevran was haseki too. If you're talking about the actual history, valeria didn't even exist

I was trying to figure out why Nurbanu's face seemed so familiar. Just hit me, she has a similar face to Shakira
I think she's was so rude because she had a daughter, so she doesn't have to worry about her child being killed as much and her place as Sultana lost. (Remember they lose their status when their child dies)
But they actually never had a status of Sultana only because they gave birth to a son. Hürrem was Hatun until she became Haseki and legal wife of Süleyman.
Sultanas were only sister of the Sultan. Later, from Suleiman's reign also valide and legal wives and ofc haseki's after 1533. Concubines were called "hatun". No matter if they gave birth to a boy or a girl, they vere concubines and slaves. And no one can carry a royal title and be a slave at the same time.

Nazerin's arrogance is totally annoying and laughable at the same time. But what else can you expect from the hatun chosen by the clown Sehzadee Fatma? In addition you can see here the difference between Suleiman' sisters and Mihrimah. Hatice chose Firuze Hatun and Fatma chose Nazenin Hatun. But Mihrimah chose one of the strongest Sultanas, Safiye Sultan just like her mother who chose Nurbanu Sultan.
Cecilia (Nurbanu) and Valeria (Najenin) were originally aristocratic girls and maids. But the Ottoman Empire changed the fate of these two. How subtle.
