Auroras interpretations are some times out of this world. And as a true musician she does the piano as well. I love her version of Believer - Its a raw Aurora with a range of vocals that give you the chills, and she creates expectations throughout the song. And you get what you are waiting for. High level artistry!
Aurora did to "Believer" what Janis Joplin did to the song "Me and Bobby Mcgee," just incredible. Aurora takes covers to an level that seems impossible.
Her Beatles cover is incredible as well!
Yes, she actually makes you pay attention to the lyrics. Also note the notebook on the keyboard...suppose that this performance also was prepared in a matter of hours. Absolutely insane talent. I still hope you will find your way to her cover of LaLaLa from a few years back....
We love when Aurora “Aurora-rizes” a song. BEAUTIFUL! ❤️
Aurora is so golden and amazing. Thank you for this reaction
Imagine Dragons is one of my favorite bands, and I knew them way before Aurora. But I only realized how deep this lyrics were with Aurora's cover. It's amazing how she can transform every cover in her own song!
There's one video of she covering Wrecking Ball, and I didn't even recognize the song until the chorus! Also her "La la la" (by naughty boy) cover with Odd Martin is brilliant!
Thanks for another great video and great reaction, Adam!
Mariana Arinelli Thank you! And ooo I’ll check out Wrecking Ball at some point!
@@AdamStraughan And "La la la" ; czcams.com/video/qgTdhIkK_K4/video.html .... :-)
LA la la is my favorite cover by Aurora, at least this week. And I say this Adam & Mariana
because she emotes it thru her whole 20 year old body and soul in this version. It's like she is
living every word the second she is singing it. I would love to hear a reaction to Wrecking Ball. I'm
going to go out on a limb here guys and say it's possibly her first cover. Aurora performed it on NRK P3
tv when she was still seventeen. It was evident that she was on her way, in a big way then. Adam, if you
do not cover it, a watching is definitely recommended. Also, it did make my All-Time top 12 Aurora covers for sure . .
@@AdamStraughan I'm about ready to subscribe. I greatly admire your reviews. Just for the record, I finally figured out who/what Aurora is. Keats talked about her in '"La Belle Dame Sans Merci"
"I met a lady in the meads
Full beautiful, a faery's child;
Her hair was long, her foot was light,
And her eyes were wild
I set her on my pacing steed,
And nothing else saw all day long;
For sideways would she lean, and sing
A faery's song.
She has us in her thrall.
i have to say that this is one of the best performances of her, i really love it! did you know that she only had an hour to prepare this cover version? it's the concept of the show. guests don't know which song they get to cover.
and every cover version by her turns into pure gold. incredibly talented!
This girl is pure talent and to see her play the piano is simply wonderful 😍... Aurora is from another world " a wonderful world " 💚🌱💚And as usual great reaction Adam 👍👍
Agreed Adam, "Wow" sums this up perfectly.
She rips you open and heals you at the same time! Who does that? She's as vulnerable as finely spun glass and as strong as high carbon steel. A siren.
I love everything about this cover 😍 and about your reaction😻
Hello Adam! Mr. Andersson here. Yes here she has managed so incredibly well with her Aurorarais. I really love the original so I was quite hesitant. The result was actually better than the original. More beautiful, more stylish and haunting and above all distinct, so the text becomes clearer. the best choice is only one instrument it make a bigger impact for me!!! ... and as usual you worked well with the reaction.
Great review, as always. Aurora is the most uniquely gifted performer I have ever encountered in my over 60 years of music listening - she is absolutely brilliant. Her theatricality and her quirkiness combine with her beautiful voice to create fascinating works of musical art.
I’ve posted this before, but I never would have guessed that at 74, my 2 favorite singers would be young ladies from Norway. Aurora and (of course) Angelina Jordan, who is equally brilliant, just in different ways. I think the “fjord fairies” must have sprinkled them with magic dust!
A flawless performance, without even a hint of tonal impurity at any point during the song. I know that even with Auroras talent, she can be challenged by being out of breath, as would we all. No dancemoves to tire her here, and Aurora delivers a deeply felt, soaring version of "Believer." I think this is Aurora at her peak, as for vocal performance I don't think I've heard her top this.
She is a-ma-zing! A goddess that we don't deserve xD♡ thank you Adam ^-^
Absolutely love this version of the song. Aurora really lets you feel the lyrics, wether it be with her own songs or covers, in a way few artists achieve. As for recommendations, I don' believe you've seen her version of Into the Unknown? I think her take on the song is stunning. Churchyard (studio version) is also highly recommended!
Hauntingly beautiful! That’s so true! A storyteller with exceptional talent! Love her! 🥰❤️
- a musical genius that other artists and the music industry follow.
i totally feel you, boy. unbelievable.
Always loved this song, but this Aurora cover is an excruciating beauty! ... When will you react to "It happened quiet" live At The Current? She and Silja Sol are two diamonds that resonated with each other. Four minutes of pure ecstasy await you, and I hope many of us.
Yes there are three songs there with one song I think you haven't heard too it would be great to react to the three performances
I love this cover, I think it might actually be one of my favourites☺️ it sounds so melancholic and ethereal. She just always nails it, I don’t think there’s anything she can’t sing. Lovely reaction as always, the way you put what I feel when I listen to Aurora into words is amazing!
I really love aurora angelic voice. I cried the first time i heard this cover. But i think it is ok to cry and release all the negativity inside you. Cuz happiness will come after that.
I really love all your reaction and all your comments and perspective about every song that you react to.
Sorry if my english is not that good☺
ridz del rey Thank you so much! Your English is perfect! 😁😊 And yes, it’s best to release that negative energy when you can 👏🏻
I'm so glad you "get" Aurora, Adam. I can see her otherworldly singing going right into you. 🤗
Her presentations at P3 are incredible! I can not understand how talented some people could be hahaha nice reaction as always
I've heard this so many times, but I still got chills while watching this reaction. Great comments, Adam! Have you thought about checking out some of the songs she did with The Chemical Brothers (at least the music video of "Eve of Destruction")?
Wow, this was the first time I heard this too and it was wonderful! I love Aurora’s covers.❤️
Thank you so much for your commentary🤍I just really appreciate how much you make sure to talk about every aspect of Aurora’s work. Also I love how you take suggestions from the comments and learn for future videos. I feel like I learned something every video! Your subscriber!
Even as a non believer, I can appreciate this song and the masterful way this unique young lady covers this song. She can do no wrong that I've seen so far, and I've heard most of her music now. She is a beautiful human being. I am so glad I found her music a few months ago. I love everything about her. And I enjoyed all of your reactions. I felt every bit with you.
Thanks for your reaction, and to probably repeat a few requests... also from P3 Live: ”Det hev ei rose sprunge,” “I Went Too Far” (performed the same day as Believer - _very_ different from the Honda Stage version), Animal Soul, and anything you haven’t seen from P3 with Aurora, really. 😁
What you said about covers does make me feel like Angelina Jordan could be in your wheelhouse...
@@AdamStraughan Absoultely one of my little favorite song "Det hev ei rose sprunge. I love to her in her own language. more of that please.
@Adam Straughan 👍🏻😊
@Håkan Andersson Here’s hoping for more songs like this down the road. Det hev ei rose sprunge is both in “Nynorsk” and written 100 years ago, but that adds to its uniqueness.
She definitely Aurora-rized this incredibly well😂😍
I don't know why but this cover always make me tear up, it's so hauntingly beautiful like you said. Thanks for reacting to this! :)
She make us all believers😘 Thank you Mr. Adam😸
Never tired of your reactions! It's magical to watch you🙌🏾 and this cover is spectacular, so delicate, dark, powerful and like fairytale in the same time🖤 Congrats from Chile🙌🏾
She is doing it with her own songs also. For example The seed, Murder song, Little boy in the grass are songs with two versions. From covers her version of Wrecking ball and La la la are completely different too. Famous blue raincoat and Scarborough Fair are beautiful covers but the best cover by Aurora is "Teardrop" for me.
I've never been a big fan of this song because it was really overplayed when it came out and the lyrics never felt like they fit the sound. But Aurora's interpretation of it is just... oh man... I got goosebumps even though it's really hot in my apartment right now. And this isn't even the first time I'm hearing this version, it just gets me every time. I wish I could tell Aurora how much her music has helped me through these months of isolation due to the continued SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in my part of the world.
I soooooo love her vocaaaaal
Love the reaction!!
Omg it's so good👍
This sounds like she is singing after the war has ended, all the deads silence, wounded ,smoke and she is alive
I love Imagine Dragons !!
Plus I love Imagine AURORA!!!
Sorry for my bad english, I am still learning the language ... Cheers!! And you have a new subscriber on your list ;)
So happy you reacted to Believer Cover, as you said she sang it as if it is her own song, she mastered everything in it with such an ease, it is just mind-blowing.
First time I heard it I played it in loop, again and again and again... ;o) it can be what sailors hear before die by the call of a siren or what we hear when arriving in heaven....
Thanks a lot for your awesome reaction, I Loved it :o)
Take care!
Edit: Aurora has done her own version of the song from Frozen 2 "Into the Unknown", it would be interesting to have both songs in the same reaction, the original Disney version, where Aurora is the siren call and then Aurora's version of it. The Disney version has a musical arrangement with a Symphony Orchestra... yeah Disney high standard.
Aurora's version is..... an Aurora's song ;o), to me it is two different songs, two story.
😍Simply amazing 😍
This is absolutely fantastic. She takes a 3.36 long song with 1,5 billion views, and make it into a 5 minute slow, beautiful masterpiece. God I love this version. Probably her best on my list. Thank you again, Adam. You would really do me an honor if you just listened her version of Animal Soul at P3 also. It is in my opinion even better than the version you reacted to. Stay safe, my friend.
Hello Sarlina..... The taste is like the behind :-) for once I am not with you at all. But by all means it is good worth listening to.....But close your eyes because the background is a disaster ;-)
@@hakanandersson1276 The background is not affecting me at all. She is sitting there making a masterpiece regardless of it 😊 It is okey, Håkan, you are my favorite Aurora fan anyway. No one can ever change that. Love from me 💕
When I saw this, I went - yaaaay - you're gonna like it...and I'm gonna like your reaction. :) To me, she gave the song a deeper meaning. As you said - she told a story, took us on the journey.
All artists singing at this show (P3 Christine) are challenged to cover a song, and all have about an hour to do any rearrangement before performing it live.
...waiting for aurora take on wrecking ball😁❤
Totally agree with everything you say about the uniqueness of her interpretation. EVERYTHING, meaning even the art of removing her hands from the claviature when the song is over that is done with a deliciousness that is uncomparable!
🦄💖
Would love to see her cover of Massive Attack's "Teardrop" -- it's the first thing I heard from her and it's what got me hooked. Give the original a listen first if you're unfamiliar.
Original: czcams.com/video/u7K72X4eo_s/video.html
AURORA cover: czcams.com/video/GPTY6l_PX5k/video.html
Thanks for another AURORA reaction!
There is another amazing cover I haven't seen to be recommended. Wrecking ball by Miley Cyrus
I find it very emotional and also it's like a portal to times when Aurora hasn't been so famous ❤
Can’t wait to hear the cover of massive attack and the Beatles!
❤❤❤
Nice!
Picture this: when Grace Vanderwaal was the opening act for Imagine Dragons and Aurora would've been added as a coheadliner, oh what a blowup the roof show!!!
you should definitely react to auroras cover of 'life on mars' by david bowie, i think you'd love that! she was pretty young when she did that cover, but her emotions just burst out of her body when she sings, as always.
Nico K I reacted to this as part of one of her full length gigs! It was amazing!
Its actually simular to what Angelina Jordan does with Bohemian Rapsody by Queen.. Taking the biggest song making it a whispering lullaby😊🥱
another great aurora-moment is this
czcams.com/video/Wafm2sL5yxM/video.html
She spontaniousely sings a song by request from the audience -a capella!
She covered Nat Coles Nature Boy as well. Her ability to interpret is out of this world. There's an NRK Christmas special where sings Jon Blund, sorry came without the link that you should hear as well. Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn ability, I know that's abroad statement. But Damn.
Beautiful. I also think you would love Susanne Sundfør... maybe you could do a reaction to her?? 😏
this is the same concept as when she did god is awoman. so 1hr to arrange the cover.
Have you ever reviewed Joni Mitchell ("Case of You" / "River" / "Help Me" etc?)
Yeeeees
Love how you love Aurora :) I recomend her version of Bowies "Life on Mars" If you havent heard and react to it already?Greetings from Norway.
Laila Jensen I’ve heard it as part of one of her full length gigs I’ve reacted to! It’s simply brilliant!
If you hear her version of Teardrop, i'm afraid you're gonna pass out ahah. Especially when she played it at the Verftet concert !!! Please check it out
i would like to see reaction on björk. she is the first musical love, while aurora is my second. actually i'm drowning in her music on a very sweet way
For me its easier to name the songs I don't "like"; Hunger and Wisdom Cries.... which is insane to only find two songs that one doesn't like... She is the best.
In "Believer" and "Teardrop" Aurora sounds very mature as an artist. The vocalizations in both songs are so beautiful, as if they were written especially for her. You might also want to react to an earlier cover of hers- Oasis' "Half the World Away"- which she performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 2015. It's interesting to hear Aurora at the beginning of her career, when her style was a little less developed. Or maybe it's just that this type of song doesn't lend itself to being "Aurorarized". So it has a different kind of beauty. The link is below:
czcams.com/video/s5QK3x-Bvo0/video.html
It's worth keeping in mind that AURORA probably didn't have full creative freedom when it came to "Half the World Away", as it was done for the John Lewis Christmas advert.
Love all of your Aurora reactions. Please check out her cover of La la la (Naughty boy) There are two versions, both good.
the 20 year old Aurora doing it is one of
my two favorite covers of hers. It was just
a Wow for me as she appeared to be living it . .
I love your reactions, please react to her music animal
💛😊
If you want to react to another cover, please react to "Teardrop". It is absolutely beyond amazing. You will love that just as much as this one.
If you want to have you mind blown, watch Angelina Jordans cover "I put a spell on you", another norwegian artist crushing it.
PLEASE, react to her cover of 'Teardrop' by Massive Attack
Love your Aurora reactions 🤩🤩 Have you done her "Half The World Away"? It is incredibly beautiful 🙂🙂 We actually have an another amazing norwegian singer, her name is Angelina Jordan ❤️❤️ Please react to "Bohemian Rapsosy" or "Yellow Brick Road" from AGT this year. You will be blown away. If you will be amazed, try her "I put a spell on you", the black and white version, where she was 9 years old 🤩🤩
Thank you! So I did react to Half The World Away but it was blocked due to copyright reasons 😓 And Angelina Jordan reactions are coming 😁
@@AdamStraughan Thank you so much 🙂❤️ You are one of my favourite reactors 🤩👍 Looking forward to Angelina ❤️🙂
Yay! Fabulous. Love the original but this is purely a masterclass in how to cover songs! Aurora could sing a dictionary and make it sound ethereal, haunting and beautiful. Just magestic 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for a great reaction again!
I noticed earlier that you would like to see a more "rocky" Aurora, I would suggest this version of Running with the wolf:
czcams.com/video/s_20ed8k-j4/video.html
Somewhere else online festival, a couple of months ago. Again, she shows that she constantly adapt and change versions. I´m pretty sure you will like it :)
youre look and sigh about 3-4 seconds in says it all =)
Dolph Lundgren is crying on a corner. He is now retiring from boxing. He tells me this version made him reach pure serenity, at last. He has forgiven old Balboa and is now going to make shoes in Italy, near Daniel Day Lewis´s shop.
Ivan Drago has been Aurorarized and is now a better man for it. It happens.
Great reaction.
Great reaction Adam, I really like your interpretation and analysis, it's really well thought out.
There's another song she did that same day that I think you should react to, I Went Too Far: czcams.com/video/-PvROe9gEcg/video.html. You've already reacted to the Honda Stage Version but this time it's just her and the piano, and whereas the Honda Stage version is upbeat, this version is not. She changed it quite a lot and it's worth a look.
Another song to react to is Awakening, the second song she released. This is her first ever live TV performance: czcams.com/video/O2A4N2MOmMw/video.html
Makes it even more impressive knowing she has had no piano or singing lessons ! Aurora is at the top of Premier League ;))
NRK is the the goverment payed radio an tv channels. P1, P2, P3, P4..etc. I gladely pay taxes for this.
You are right, except P4, which is a commecial channel outside NRK.
P3 is a quality channel aimed at young grownups, 20-35 y
I am not inside that group, but still it is my favourite channel.
And Christine, from this show, is the same Christine from Haik.
r u German?
oh tysm for your answer. 💗 you had a perfect CZcams channel. U r so successful, keep goin' 💖😊
Please react to Door by Caroline Polachek, she is amazing and the song is very powerful and peaceful at the same time. Music video is aesthetically pleasing
Hey Adam. Have u ever heard of the group twenty one pilots??? They're a really good music band. I think you'll like them.... Could u please react to them??????????😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😊😊😊😊😍😍😍👋👋👋👋
@@AdamStraughan check out these songs: Ride, chlorine, heathens, the judge, message man, cut my lip, neon gravestones, the hype, levitate, car radio, morph, Nico and the niners, tear in my heart, stressed out, bandito, heathens, holding onto you.....
That's just a fraction of all the songs they've made over the years from many different albums in particular, but I'd say that u should DEFINITELY check these out and give em a try. Then if u like them u can move on to some more if u like 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍👋👋👋👋👋😎😎😎🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😍😍😍😍😊😊😊😊😊
I do NOT like the way imagine dragons did this song...while the lyrics are incredible and i give them credit for that, I think in their version the lyrics and meaning are completely lost, Aurora brought the soul of this song (the lyrics) to the forefront and you used the same word I do when describing her version "Haunting"
PLEEEASE, make a reaction to the video clips of Melanie Martinez from K-12! she is amazing, you will fall in love just like AURORA !!!! Melanie in addition to an incredible voice takes social criticism in her songs that leave you speechless ...
I love her style with playing the piano. It's so simplistic and subtle and it fits perfectly.
