There have been comments saying this song isn't by Blue October, and it's not, it's by The Last Wish. The Last Wish was a band Justin Furstenfeld sang for before Blue October. I put Blue October on the title because most people think it is by Blue October, so I'm sorry if you think it is misleading but it's just to help people recognize who's singing it.

It almost doesn't sound like him compared to the more commercial stuff... at first, but if you are a true fan then you have heard Justin sing acustic before there is no doubt, especially when he does his "ohhh" stuff! Beautiful, raw and the reason why I fell in love almost 10 years ago...(wow can't believe it's been that long!)

@Alcadain To expand on this, when doing solo shows he uses the moniker 5591; so if you want more of his solo work look that up. I wish he would play some of the older songs more, many of them are fantastic(this includes those songs while he was in Last Wish)

The depression your talking about was when he was admited to laurel ridge residential facilities in sanantonio tx. We were there at the same time. Great guy even on a one on one personal level. Not many artist can say that. He's very humbled.

Oh by the way. I have all of there CD's and this is not one of their songs so i did some research. This is a song from the band The Last Wish. A local band in Huston. Justin was the lead singer for the first two albums and will play some of the songs from The Last Wish in his solo shows occasionally.
@iliveonthelake this isn't the Last Wish, this was written before Justin was in the Last Wish. The Last Wish was his high school career. If I am not mistaken, this is a 5591 performance, which is only Justin and his acoustic guitar.

Where do you find these recordings?? Looked all over to find Last Wish, 5591 and other Furstenfeld rarities. Mountain, Sorry Hearts, Voice of a Friend, Rust, Scar, No One's Listening, this one and many others. The only place to hear them seems to be on youtube. If any one would compile an anthology of 5591, Last Wish & other Blue October rarities, I would pay some good money to get my hands on it. Even if it's just bootlegged recordings like this so I could put them on my mp3 player

come in closer (love song, but about a break up), Clumsy Card House, 18th Floor Balcony, A Quiet Mind, Calling You. All of those songs are love songs (but yes most their songs them aren't)

The point of saying it was from Blue October was because most people associate Justin with Blue October, so it's easier for people to recognize the song. Anywho, I've gotten a lot of comments like this and I hope it's understandable. c:

@iliveonthelake I will, I have some of my guitar work in demos up on my channel, I havent recorded a whole song yet.
While it is true that some of their songs are about some form of love, even those that are about love can hardly be described as love songs.
Then there are plenty which can't be even remotely described as love songs... Italian Radio, James, Independently Happy, HRSA, Schizophrenia, Razorblade, Amnesia, Drop, just to name a few, and though I'm sure some of them mention an abstract "love" VERY few of their songs are STRICTLY about love, such that they can be described as "love songs".

I will be seeing them on Nov. 4th Spokane and am hopeing the band gives us an extra.
