Mick Jagger Is also a legend...!! One of the greatest and a living one !! You don't seem to recognize nor enjoy Mick's personal talent on this performance with MJ that same year (1983/1984), which finally ended up exceeding Mr.. Mercury's by far 🎤🎤

Right On! I wonder why they didn't release the album song, that funny to me. Michael hardly wanted to record with his brothers during this time and all but I think it's still a decent album.
The song Victory never got finished. Michael was on tour and Freddy also, they never had the time to complete it.
State of Shock eventually got recorded with Mick Jagger instead of Freddy because of the same reasons.
@@lanoxin666 well at least release the rough demo or whatever is in the can so far would be intriguing to just see how the two artists worked together would be great. Just saying..I'm a huge fan of both artists and of the time period as well...this was a highly creative time for both of them...and could be a great release. I've tried to find any and all information for either a full track or even a demo...heck id take a very poor quality recording as opposed to having literally nothing...and it's 2022.

El encuentro de Michael y Mercury fue en un descanso posterior a la gira de los Hermanos Jackson "Víctory" de 1982-1983 de hecho por presiones de Joe Jackson(Padre de Michael) el álbum más éxitoso de todos los tiempos "Trhriller" no tuvo gira, más bien se incluyeron algunos temas en la gira "Víctory" junto a sus hermanos.. Posterior a esa gira Michael fue invitado a algunas presentaciones Freddie Mercury & Queen.. Los dos Rockstars se entendieron de mil maravillas e iniciaron una gran amistad prometiendose mutuamente hacer un Álbum juntos y a finales de 1983 comenzaron las grabaciones!..
En esa época Michael tenía mucho apegó a un hijo pequeño de una de sus empleadas domésticas, de hecho lo acompañó a los Grammys..... (Burbujas el chimpancé hizo su aparición hasta 1986 en Plena etapa de Bad mismo del que se obsesiona al extremo de contratar a foniatras en un intento de hacerlo hablar)
Lo que no gustó a Michael de Mercury fueron sus frecuentes comentarios sexuales y su marcada adicción a la cocaína de Mercury..
Michael quiso seguir el proyecto con Mick Jagger pero se decepciono con las continuas desafinadas de voz de Mick Jagger y su indisciplina, de hecho se hicieron 2 versiones de State of Shock una con Mercury y otra con Jagger..
Michael intento que Mercury regresará pero ya estaba demasiado ocupado con las grabaciones del núevo álbum de Queen "The Works" de 1984.... Debido a la apretadisima agenda de ambos el "Proyecto" quedó inconcluso pero se lograron grabar al menos 3 temas..
El encuentro de 2 Leyendas que aún nos entusiasma a sus fans..

Mick Jagger también es una leyenda a la altura de FM (y ambos por debajo de Michael!!). Lo que sucede es que Mick aún está vivo, entonces no ha alcanzado en vida el status de Deidad Rock y Pop a la vez !! Nadie parece destacar ni reconocer que su versión de esta canción supera a la de Freddy, y la evidencia objetiva está en la grabación misma: hay que escucharla. Jagger y Jackson comienzan cantando en equilibrio, de par a oar, de tú a tú, lo cual ya es llamativo, porque la canción es de Michael y porque él ese año el "Rey del Pop*, pero en cierto punto Jagger se"adueña" de la canción, literalmente "se la quita" a Michael, y no se la devuelve más, al nivel de que la termina sólo, no de "fade out", y encima en un estilo propio (una suerte de "susurro"). Es una performance notable, y lamentablemente pasada por alto. No soy "Stoniano", ni "Jaggeriano", ni "Mercuriano" ni "Jacksoniano" en particular, pero si soy incondicional de los 80's !! Y en este caso son notables la versatilidad de Jagger (Pop, Rock), su personalidad para enfrentar en el estudio a Jackson y pararsele de frente a un mismo nivel, y su capacidad de "robar" una canción de manera legal, o sea, artística. Mercury (Rock), que es extraordinario, con una voz y desplante superiores, no pudo está vez frente a un compatriota titánico.

Eliza Mercury they had a falling out. i’ve heard a few reasons for it (michael’s llama, freddie’s coke habit, a poorly-received get well card, michael’s retreat from public life). i think they were just incompatible as people. unfortunate because they mesh so well as artists & clearly enjoyed working together. but yeah, they just never reconnected to finish their tracks

TheSaxAppeal i’m pretty sure freddie was just being polite by saying that. he skirted the truth a whole lot when talking w journos, and he especially avoided publicly criticizing fellow musicians. he managed to record with montserrat and queen when he was extremely ill. if he & michael had really wanted to get this done, they’d have found a way. hell, queen had a courier fly from london to switzerland with some tapes just so they could tinker w a piece of work. freddie wasn’t above pushing people around. and he was in LA during the recording sessions for The Works, which must have been around the time SoS was finalized because both were released in 1984. i know for sure the llama freaked freddie out, and that michael’s feelings were hurt by freddie’s card, because those are stories from jim beach & freddie himself. freddie also gently mentioned michael not wanting to go out as a reason that they hadn’t been seeing each other anymore. the coke thing could be a fabrication, but i’ve heard it repeated by fans & freddie is known to have indulged, so it’s a possibility. shame it didn’t work out. it would have made for a much better song! michael’s sharpness works so well with freddie’s rounder vocal- mick’s voice is too similar to make for a satisfying duet, imo. and, honestly, i find the lyric changes on the released version lame.

Maybe they got to recording these tracks in mid to late 1981 but then that they struggled because because Queen also had to record Hot Space and go on tour in 1982
Then Queen stopped touring the US and maybe they got to record a couple times in 83 but didn’t call each other often. 1984 is when Michael asked Freddie if he could’ve record again but then Queen had to record The Works then and didn’t have much time to cover up. Leaving State of Shock to go on The Jackson’s Victory album to be collabed on with Mick Jagger. Then The Jacksons went on their 1984 tour and Queen went on tour as well. Then the song There Must Be More To Life Than This would go on Mr Bad Guy of Freddie’s and went as a solo song.
