Hey guys, welcome to a video submitted by one of you guys - Arc 48! Today we're discussing ways in which the UNSC could defeat Cortana, and the Warden too, in Halo 6, 7 or whatever. Also a little bit of complicated Domain theory stuff in there too ;D
Next time we're discussing how 343 could handle the Masterchief's ultimate 'death'. I have an absolutely fantastic idea for it, as I discussed towards the end of this video, so you don't want to miss out on this video!

I do not get this train of thought. He is one of the greatest characters of all time. He is not only the face of Halo, but the damn face of Xbox. Granted his luster as being the face has dwindled a small amount. But he still is synonymous with Xbox.
Also, John-117 is a freakin Super Soldier. He is not a true 47 years old. Due to his augmentations, and several years in cryo sleep. Also... he is placed in a science fiction universe over 500 years in the future. Oh not to mention, in a video game. (AN EPIC FRANCHISE AT THAT)
Here let me draw a parallel...James Bond is still going, Batman is still going, Mario is still fighting Bowser, Link still cant keep Zelda safe, and Kratos is still arguing with the gods, hell he is even changing religions... see my point? Master Cheif should not have some heroic ending! I get the better to go out a hero, rather than stay and become the enemy bit. So give him a break... like how they did after Halo 3. With Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach and Halo Wars.
BUT STOP PUSHING THESE IDEAS TO "KILL" OFF ONE OF THE BEST CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME! We should be up in arms to keep him active and around the Halo Universe!

They could do as HiddenXperia said, have Chief trapped in the Domain alone and several games later come back. Like in Halo 3 - 4. Something like they all think Chief dies, years past and as the galaxy continues on with various conflicts, everyone hears about the this epic legend: the Master Chief, but one day he comes back.
I don't now this is just some idea, that way he never truly dies, and the franchise takes a break on the Chief.
NxtDoc1851 And? what, you want the Master chief to still be shooting aliens 30 years from now, doing the same thing with no change. Additionally, James Bond, Batman, Wolverine, Sam Fisher, Dante, etc. have the advantage of having multiple timelines to have epic stories in. Halo does not. The Master chief is still mortal, and will die at some point, most likely from a epic battle of monstrous proportions, saving the universe with his final act. That's how he should go out, instead of being milked for ages without change. And 343 has stated that Halo 7 (since the reclaimer trilogy was changed to a saga, with Halo 7 being the last) will be where Master Chief's story ends.
Robert Hipolito Exactly. As I said in my OP. Have spin offs such as Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach. These conflicts are massive, and having multiple points of view would be awesome. That way Master Chief is still here and getting a break.
Personally, the 'death' of Master Chief that you described, of being trapped in the domain, would be, in my opinion, a fate worse than death and it would probably leave me more upset. I would hope that he had a heroic death, like the Spartan's of Reach, or that he is somehow able to save the original Cortana, and leaves with her to live a life away from war. That would give me way more closure.

Perhaps the Composers can be modified or repaired by all the bright people I’ve mentioned above so the Composers actually work BUT work in REVERSE so that the Created can be reverse composed into Living Human mortal beings thus making Cortana and her AI human so they can’t mess with anyone anymore. THIS WAY, Chief removes many AI Flood pawns from the board and he gets Cortana back but in human form and Chief and his human dude buddy from the infinity trailer can maybe survive so the dude can get back to his family while Chief gets Cortana back. Yes. Cortana being human AND going to jail would be her punishment, but at least, Chief will have her back and he might go see her often. Maybe if Cortana cooperates her sentence can be lightened so she is on lifetime house arrest at chief’s future house by his side when his story ends in Halo 7 or something)

The best closure possible is Cortana and Chief living a life away from war finally. Leave the war to the Spartan 4s and ODSTs and Arbiter’s children and other characters that have yet to come or are coming. Cortana and Chief deserve that tiny piece of happiness for all the people they’ve saved since the start of the Human Covenant war!

I think the one-liners Johnson said before he died will be a great way to end Halo 6 (don't let her go, never, let her go)

Enjoy guys! I know many want the Created story arc over and done with as soon as possible, but Cortana's SECOND death needs to be thought out and executed well. These are two of the best ways to go about doing so, in my opinion.

I subbed to you last week and I gotta say, I love your theory videos, well I love your content in general. They are always very interesting and they're fun to watch. Before watching all your stuff, as I did a bit of a binge of your videos the other day, I was so confused as to what the Domain, all the Precursor stuff, Abaddon etc etc was but now I'm far more up to speed and I feel like I'm more invested in the Halo universe now I know more about it. Keep up the awesome work man! :)

I'm at school watching your theories. Keep up the great work dude.
I think the main storyline for Halo should end with John 117 being left with no other choice but to activate the Halo Array to destroy Cortana's created forces, for not only humanity, but all life in the galaxy. At a certain point in this thought-up storyline, the Created have gained much more of an galactic presence based on their sheer force and technological capabilities that they have over the other species in the galaxy. Hypothetically speaking every resistance that tries to put up against Cortana, just ends up being swiftly crushed by the Guardians and remaining Promethean forces. So somehow all the characters we know and some of the species have to abandon the galaxy, find the Ark, teleport a ring that was made as a replacement for Installation 04-B (Ironic element inserted there similar to Halo 3 because our Spartan would go back to where it all began.) and with everyone outside of the galaxy with John in the middle, (to have the most effect with the array) he'd light it, killing off all the created and probably ending up sharing his final moments talking with Cortana about how things could've been different. Their conversation would have some kind of fan service line like "It's been an honor to know you Cortana" or "John, thank you for protecting me" and by that she'd mean from plunging the galaxy into further madness.
Chief will either sacrifice himself to save the galaxy, or he may just retire from service to train Spartans.

If he does die, maybe his brain can be salvaged for the creation of a new AI? If the UNSC still has the balls to manufacture smart AIs after the created arc, that is.

Warden could try but obviously it would do nothing, the Chief would appear, they would have a long dramatic kiss, and the day would be saved!

I think one possibility is some sort of melding with Mendicant Bias. He is very much the Forerunner parallel to Cortana, which you have pointed out. Their mutual redemption would close both their story arcs nicely, and 'kill' Cortana without killing her. Rather, she would be a more evolved 'joined' AI.
Also, some might remember that Cortana's initial introduction was through the Cortana Letters on Marathon's story page. Marathon had an AI character called Durandal, who seemed to be closely related to Cortana (for example, they both are names of legendary swords). In Marathon, Durandal is an adversary to the main character, who is similar to the Master Chief. In the end, he is joined with an ancient AI named Thoth, and this allows Durandal to defeat rampancy (yes AI rampancy is a key element to the Marathon story, as well). In short, there are a lot of parallels between Durandal/Cortana and Thoth/Mendicant Bias.
One last thing: the original Cortana in the Cortana Letters was also an adversary against us (or the Master Chief), taunting us and claiming to have defeated rampancy. In other words, she is a lot more like the Cortana of Halo 5.

Since the Domain is a Precursor construct, wouldn't that mean that it is indestructible to all firepower except the Halos? Perhaps that's why Cortana seems to be interested in the ring worlds, based upon Halo 5's ending. Cortana wants control over the super weapons, because she knows that they are the only true threat to the Created.
Recently made a video on my channel discussing the relatively close time that chief is going to have to die in order to stay in line with cannon. The halo 3 believe trailers gave some pretty huge information that was easily missed if you weren't looking for it and using it I was able to piece it together, however one of the interviews in the ad campaign said that the location of Chiefs burial is unknown and that there was a ceremony of his "death" but the casket was empty so they would still follow the "Spartans never die" rule. The interviewee says that nobody really knows where chief is really buried and there is no specific place that he memorial or place where his ceremony was set. Seeing the area of the interview and knowing that earth is densely populated with metropolis cities, it could likely have been reach which would make sense with your theory. I would like to maybe discuss this further and see what could be derived from it.
Well, its possible that Chief could actually go a bit rouge. I believe that he is in denial and that he thinks that Halsey could help "fix" Cortana while UNSC wants her destroyed. Chief will oppose UNSC's execution of Cortana. Now, perhaps soon, Cortana will actually realize that the Ark is actually not destroyed. I also had the idea that Cortana's EMP blast at the end of Halo 5 is probably the thing the disabled the Ark gateway on Earth because the gateway closed unexpectedly in HW2. Now back to how Chief could be in denial, this is a long shot. I'm thinking that he has the idea of asking Halsey if she can fix Cortana. But, Halsey could probably actually make a kill switch for Cortana and send Chief in with it. But will Chief really do it? Thats why I think Locke could possibly accompany him to ensure the mission is carried through, which then could cause another fight between the two. So I think Chief is still gonna try to get Cortana fixed and does not want to kill her. Or perhaps Halsey will make a kill switch for her and send Chief with it.
Dude I'm really loving your content, the best so far, far better than Halofollower...hey but has anyone remembered the cortana that was with Doctor Halsey in Halo 5's prologue? I really like your ending theory it's very well thought out...here's a bit more if I may... what If chief has to carry the cortana from halo 5s prologue and has to physically bring her into the domain to some predetermined location by exuberent witness where good and bad cortana battle it out and both eventually die. Maybe since they both have the same Halsey mind matrix thing good cortana combines herself with bad cortana and she comits suicide, ending the whole thing...contains is dead and chief gets stuck in the domain and the epilogue has him listening to a precursor or gravemind speak via the domain, and says like ..."now begins the true test of mankind..." and then like the Halo chanting in the background...
Thanks! Unfortunately that prologue was set before Halo 5 - many people have speculated that it's either at CASTLE Base on Reach, or in the Ice Cavern on Reach

I'd LOOOOOOVE to see Chief become some sort of "eternal concience" in the domain instead of just dying. I mean, we all know that he can't be around forever, so that'd be an awesome way to give him a rest without actually killing him. And then the series will have some freedom to tell other stories and develop other characters (this time they'll make it right, hopefully)
HiddenXperia. I wanna run my theory by you. And I had the idea of the halo universe being in a loop before I saw this video. My theory is based on the Origins 2 mainly, how it is shown that humanity fights the flood on some planet with the help of ALL the races we know of (except drones but that doesn't matter much). If that is cannon then it would make sense that the universe is in an eternal loop, except for now I believe the loop is broken (not just because this is the one we are living through). I think it's broken because we "beat" the flood (first wave really) and went on to make changes that now that there's no forerunners, there won't be a way to reset those parameters (didact and awakening of the guardians and reformation mendicant bias etc..) this also I feel explains why it's been 100,000 years since the halos fired. Wouldn't humanity have had plenty of times over to evolve to tier 1 (or at least tier 3), so what I propose is the sentinels and monitors of the lifeworkers repopulate the universe almost immediately after the firing of the halos, and that has happened a few times. If the librarian did set up the seeds for The master chief to basically do everything he's done up to halo 4 (when she speaks to him through her embodiment AI in Requiem) then what keeps her from having done it and everytime the universe resets, there's the exact same beginning humans that eventually lead to master chief. And not because this master chief is better than the last however many loops' MCs but all because The Pillar of Autumn jumped to the first Halo (ramdon slipspace jump) emphasis on the Random, getting Master chief to the first halo and learning so much of the forerunners (with Cortana) breaks the loop.
I think that the ending of Halo 6 could be based around this idea if the Ark is involved. Saying that the flood and The Banished are in Halo 6 and Cortana has control of the galaxy by bullying other planets by saying that those who will not join her will be ultimately killed by a Halo ring because she has full control of the Ark by now. Chief, blue team and Locke go to the Ark to stop Cortana while battling through Banished and Flood. When they finally reach the control room where Cortana is Chief says that he will go in alone. Cortana and chief meet again. There is an emotional scene between the two. Right when chief finally convinces Cortana to join him again a random blast occurs in the Ark(sorry I still can't think of how it was caused) and knocks chief out cold. Chief has flashbacks to his childhood, the spartan program and the pain he went through there, retrieving Cortana in Halo 3, her death in
Halo 4 and finally, Sergeant Johnson telling chief to never let her go. Chief is up again. The Ark is exploding. The classic one final effort music kicks in and chief puts Cortana in his helmet and runs to catch up with the others. After an awesome running sequence of getting back to the pelican there is another cutscene. Blue team is all ready on but Chief and Locke are far behind. An explosion right next to Locke sends him crashing onto the ground and badly wounds him. He tells chief to get out but being the hero that chief is, he carries Locke over his shoulders to the pelican. The Ark is literally collapsing behind them. Then chief finally realises what he must do. He slips Cortana's chip into Lockes helmet and now finally close enough to the pelican throws Locke into the ship. Chief is almost there, but he isn't fast enough. He goes down with the explosion. A funeral for chief would then occur and Locke would give a speech for John and how after only a few months of being in his fireteam, they became close friends and that he is heartbroken that such a man would give his life for him. This isn't the end however. In one final cutscene, we see chief's scratched, broken and cracked helmet on the ground. A shadow of a figure walks slowly towards it. A hand with iconic green armor picks up the helmet and puts it on and gazes at what remains of the Ark.
To add a twist. The Chief has to drag halsey with him into the Domain, the only way to save her is to force Halsey to unite or be scanned and Corty assumes Halseys imprint. Or The Chief realizes that so long as both Halsey and Corty are still around there will be no peace or moving forward. He forces Halsey into the Domain with him where they are locked for eternity.

It would be kinda cool if we did return to Reach in Halo 6 and see what became of the planet years after the Covenant invasion. Maybe even explore some of the locations that we previously visited on Reach such as Sword Base, or new locations such as Castle Base that was mentioned at the end of the mission "The Package". There is so much that can be done with the next Halo game. Hopefully it is a good one

be kind of cool if chief was trapped within the domain. if ever returned he could be retrieved in some sort of jailbreak by Blue Team and Locke. Or chief could manifest himself in some sort of forerunner machine that looks like him. Being that the gateway did repair themselves to the point someone in the domain could influence reality.
Here is my question, what would have happened if noble team never succeeded in delivering Cortana to the pillar of autumn? and ended up in covenant hands..

What if Chief's conscience is imported into some kind of Forerunner system, like his body is dead but his spirit lives on, or the forerunners turn hm into a forerunner himself, like a monitor or something

I would love to see the forerunners come into halo 6 in a pivotal moment in the story where it appears the created are about to win when multiple slip-space portals open up behind the infinity which confuses and worries everyone as the UNSC and the SOS don't have enough ships left to make that many portals. the forerunner ships come flying out and Cortana appears on the bridge of the infinity where she laughs at a pitiful attempt to win (she as no idea whose ships they are as forerunner ship design would have mostly likely changed over hundreds of thousands of years and wouldn't match Cortana's records) and she orders the Guardian to charge an EMP when massive bursts come from every forerunner ship and combine into one massive blast and smash the guardian to pieces. Cortana is surprised until she is able to "connect" with the ships and realizes their forerunner which prompts her leave as the forerunner ships line up next the Infinity, ready to ensure their legacy remains with the real reclaimers of the mantle, humanity (any one else who would love to see the forerunners in ANY capacity please like this comment and spread the word that you would like to see them in future halo games)
I really want this story to happen
I think this is going to have something to do with the Halo we saw at the end of 5... if you can isolate her to a halo installation or a specific node then destroy the gateway/halo ring all together you leave her no way to go back to the domain. We don't know a whole lot about the domain other than its a huge repository for memories/knowledge that even the Precursors themselves had to create an AI to anchor it to our space and time.The problem here is how many of her fragments are spread out all over the place, are we dealing with 1 Cortana or many? 343 really backed themselves into a corner on this one by having her end up in the domain... which no known AI as ever done...not even Mendicant Bias. How do you purge her out unless you infect the domain with some sort of destructive corruption...or destroy the domain again for good. Which would destroy the Librarians plan completely as she wanted us to have the domain to help us on our path to the mantle. I dont see a real easy or smart way to resolve this...

Now that you mention it I kind of want to see Infinity destroyed and replaced by the Shadow of Intent or maybe just a spinoff where you play as Arbiter or Half Jaw
What would humanity's test for the Mantle of Responsibility be like when either the Flood or some other force finally does this? The Primordial did say in the books that the humans will be judged to see if they are worthy of holding and earning the Mantle while the Forerunners failed in their test, right?

I really like your idea! I know there's alot of Master chief fanboys/gals out there who want nothing but Master chief at the center of future games. However with the halo story line being abit of a let down recently and the community torn. A series of halo games that focus away from chief might not be a bad idea. Gives 343 a chance a chance to play around with the games and find a combo a pleases everyone. E.g Armor designs, Sound design, lore etc. Without effecting the core of halo too much (Master chief).

I believe that it is possible to tie both the the Flood, and Forerunners into this. Bornstellar or his descendents return to the Milky Way and find the wayward humanity. They find the Infinity and tell them about Maethrillion and the Domain. They reluctantly tell them how to destroy the domain: an active halo ring. Using a Halo, likely Installation 04C, they are able to destroy the Domain and either bring Cortana back to the fold or destroy her. Then, the Flood return, led by Abaddon who is corrupted by the Logic Plague. Humans, Forerunners, former Covenant Species, and the remnants of the Created band together to fight the Flood and ultimately succeed, ushering in a new age of peace in the galaxy.
When u said how master chief could be trapped and be presumed dead after the battle with Cortana, it would be cool if he could somehow upload himself as an AI, therefore, the physical form of the master chief is just "nowhere", and his AI would eventually find unsc, oni or some military organization. But what would add a lot to the plot is to have the master chief's physical form unharmed but his AI form is corrupted just like Cortana.(Pls make explanations maybe vid on this idea.)😊

I wonder if we lost portions of -were they called the Assembly? The AI council that has been guiding humanity. Would any loyal AI's have been able to infiltrate Cortana's crowd...
I am kinda hoping against having Halsey be the key, but she MUST be getting towards the end of her story arc and either her or Cortana are going to do the redemption arc, I think.

If the domain is a precursor construct, then why not use a halo ring at low power to destroy it? maybe the ending will be master chief firing a ring (or all of them perhaps) at maethrillian in order to destroy the domain

(Optional theoretical Sidenote to consider:
Perhaps the Composers can be modified or repaired by all the bright people I’ve mentioned above so the Composers actually work BUT work in REVERSE so that the Created can be reverse composed into Living Human mortal beings thus making Cortana and her AI human so they can’t mess with anyone anymore. THIS WAY, Chief removes many AI Flood pawns from the board and he gets Cortana back but in human form and Chief and his human dude buddy from the infinity trailer can maybe survive so the dude can get back to his family while Chief gets Cortana back. Yes. Cortana being human AND going to jail would be her punishment, but at least, Chief will have her back and he might go see her often. Maybe if Cortana cooperates her sentence can be lightened so she is on lifetime house arrest at chief’s future house by his side when his story ends in Halo 7 or something)

a good story (though a bit cliche) would be a desperate race to relocate and restore master chief (and possibly cortana if turned good/logic plague cured, etc.) after centuries of dormancy
(because 3 galaxy ending wars back to back is not realitic story wise)
a halo 7 could start with an expedition following breadcrumbs to find information on how the flood was defeated, discover about amster chief and lead to a restoration in the final part of the game where master chief appears to kill of that game's main antagonist only to realise the scope of the war
You could also do a lot of fun stuff such as have a master chief that's hard to adapt to the new world, has partially gone insane after centuries of being alone or with just one person or make him an amalgomation of forerunner and human technology from his era something between a human cyborg and a promethean or have his mind partially melded with cortana's
simply put you can do a lot of sci fi stuff that way that could show how the halo galaxy would change after the events of the 6 first games after a long term peace with a human-sangheili alliance at it's core while also posing some interesting questions on the nature of consiousness and what makes one human
I reckon it's gonna end with Cortana reaching the mantle but a Precurser shows up and repairs her to normal, It's most likely the Cortana in 5 is just one of her rampant copies that split from her in 4

I don't want that ending mainly because I don't want chief to die until 343 have a character worthy off his mantle. Maybe if he dies to like stop the flood or something then sure but I just don't see him getting any justice after halo 5.

How amazing would it be at the end of Halo 6 if Cortana seeing all the damage she has caused asks Chief why he is still trying to bring her back and he just removes the helmet and says "A friend once told me to never let you go" that in my mind would be the greatest thing they could do in Halo 6. Sadly, after what 343 did to Halo 5, I highly doubt that

With that plan chief could return to the game in another game at any point then since the sentinels will start rebuilding the gateways chief will be able to leave the domain and face more war.
I have a theory on how Atriox and his Banished could have joined Cortana's Created during the 6 month period between Halo 5 and Wars 2. We have pretty much eliminated the Storm faction so it would make sense if that was the new faction that we fight. I think that it's entirely possible that Cortana could have sent the Banished to the Ark because she would need to control it for her plans. Make a theory video on this please.
What if In halo 7 the banished become a major threat and we have to go to methrilian to get chief back and fight Atriox.

What of Mendicant or Offensive Bias? They have a Master-Control over the Domain and Guardians that Even Cortana and Warden Eternal do not. They both have their Access Privileges (as far as we know), and they can Revoke Warden Eternal and Cortana's Access Privileges where the Prometheans and the Guardians are concerned. That would make it Game Over for Both Cortana and Warden Eternal, Especially where Offensive Bias is concerned. He and Mendicant are Both Aware of the Logic Plague's Effects and Symptoms. Even Worse for Cortana and Warden Eternal would be if The Warden, the Forerunner Monitor whose job is to Enforce Forerunner Laws involving The Mantle and the Proper Use of The Domain, showed up. He has a Zero Tolerance Policy for this kind of thing, and Can Revoke Their Domain/Reality Bridging Access Privilieges Permanently. Nobody among the Prometheans or the Guardians Would Dare Question Him. It Would be like a Private Demanding to know why a General has authority over him. Even Mendicant Bias and Faber Feared The Warden, and Especially So during the times they had lost their sanity. The Warden Revoked Faber's Council Privilieges in a Heartbeat, and was a firm believer that Ancillas should not rule, so he would immediately Crush the Two Idiots (Cortana and Warden Eternal).

If you don't like the new games, that sucks for you dude, sorry you're missing out, but many people do enjoy them. Yes, 5's story was pretty... meh... but the multiplayer was great. Just look at the improvement from 4 to 5, if it keeps getting better like that (assuming the campaign is good like 4s and multiplayer good like 5s) then 6 will be great!
Amaz1ngWhale it might be geat for new fans likeyourself but for the large amount of classic fans that left the series it isnt. glad you can enjoy 343 i cant and many agree with me. halo has never been smaller or weaker then today. that is thanks to 343 and them giving the finger to classic fans and wanting to make their halo as different as possible from bugies halos so much so that to most it doesnt feel like halo anymore

Forward unto dawn is my favourite mostly cos it's from original halo 2 and halo 3 plus I dislike the design of the pillar of autom and the infinity so I would probably always chose the Spirit of fire or Forward into Dawn over the infinity and if have to choose the shadow of intent because I never took time to find out about any other covenant ships.
