City-neighbourhood-Residential planning & Design must permeate to each & every city & urban environment. Natural landscape and their perpectual maintanance must be hard-wired in to the infrastructure. Without Live-ability, ppl will just leave in droves.

Indian bureaucracy has run the country down to its knees. I am a doctor and work as public health professional & have seen through years of experience the rut that is the governement program officers and bureaucrats. General population doesn't know that indian public health system is so deeply incompetent, that in every single state there are healthcare NGO supporting the programs extensively and we do 90% of the technical work for them without any public recognition. Have seen first hand that they take up hefty salaries and please the higher ups, attend all technical workshops just as leisure stay in big hotels but don't learn anything and hence don't impart cascade learning as well!
There are only 2 reason Indian public health system is working relatively fine- Consultants from NGO including UN & ASHA/ANMs (who are the overburdened and exploited lot for years in running now).
It's because of this public health professionals have one of the highest burnout rate or they eventually also become corrupt and redundant like their government counterparts. So much money is siphoned off from back door of the NHM, 15th FC, ECRP budgets. It's a sad and ugly reality i witness everyday.
You choose the leaders like yourself. India has never had a dearth of astute, honest, deserving individuals to run the system and country but they are always on the sidelines hussling while the mainstream corruption goes on minting money with the blood of their very own people!

Like other policies you guys mentioned, in health also rosy dreamy policies are made without any feedback and understanding of reality, hence most implementation falters when it comes to the ground. • @MaTara01
      @MaTara01 Před rokem

@@ruchi3667 unfortunately, that has been a perennial Indian problem, but still I am amazed that some govt managed things still work even in the chaos - in some places, the government university hospitals are doing pioneering, world class work at 1/10 th of the funding that an average Western University gets. I don't think that the inherent ineffeciency of the system can be changed overnight, especially given India's federal structure, lack of accountability, political interference etc. And in spite of the Indian tendency to forever criticise Indian union or state governments/admins etc, I have lived encountered the same incompetence, corruption and ineffeciency in Europe. I can get to see a GP in India in a city government hospital immediately and get a diagnosis or medical treatment straight away, but that doesn't happen in the NHS of UK (which all UK residents have to pay for monthly) - the waiting time to get a GP appointment in some places is almost 6 months. Dental appointments are even worse - there are no dentists for miles and people pull out their teeth themselves! India handled the Covid crisis much better than the UK did and when you compare the size & per capita health spending of India to UK, the achievement is even more remarkable.

    1. BSNL is being propped up because there needs to be a provider who can focus on laying OFCs. The plan is to tie up with Prysmian cables (the world's largest manufacturer of OFCs) and lay more OFCs throughout the width and breadth of India. The private telcos are focussing on wireless which will eventually saturate as subscriber counts increase. Latency is lowest through cables and not wireless.
    2. The draft of the new Electricity Act will enable One nation, One grid. This would empower and encourage all electricity consumers to be prosumers. Basically, a household with 1000 sq. ft of roof space can install a 10 kW solar power plant and go fully off-grid. The bottleneck here would be battery storage for which a national-level grid is an absolute necessity. The primary opposition here is from state-level utility cos.
    3. Most Indians inherently have an understanding of systems optimization and control theory, even without explicitly doing the math-heavy university-level coursework. The lack of criticism is because the current government, even with its multiple faults, is functioning at a "near-global optimum", given the systemic constraints and environmental variables.

Constructive criticism is always welcome and the present Government should look at this the same way. Somewhere, get the feeling that the current government is getting very complacent about the fact that people are likely to vote for them in 2024

@@Bruh-jw2ze It is not a good point. It is the most diseased point one can come up with. Why must _we_ stand against Modi? We voted for him. Is that not enough? We vote for political parties precisely because we are the electorate, and they promised to work on our behalf. Seek accountability from _him._ Do not ask _us_ to fix his problems.

At 43:40, Abhijit is wrong. It is essential to build toilets and give cylinders to people who don't even have them. You have to fulfill basic needs before you move onto higher needs such as entertainment and education.

DK if it is true but Mother Theresa gave medicines to the poor to keep them barely alive so that when they near death she gives better medicine in some holy way to make them believe in Christianity and guess what it was a successful method of conversion. Similarly even BJP is playing *Hindu card* when they don't do a sh*t either on economy or hindutva. The point I want to make is *sirf toilets banwana se nahi thoda middle class aur economy creators(rich) par bhi focus kare nahi tho is tharah ke basic needs ka fulfil karne kaa Paisa nahi hoga hamare pass*

Agree with the callouts and noted failures
    1. Give is still playing silly appeasement politics. You can only do it when you have money. And Govt with majority seats must not play victim card.
    2. Govt failed at making India a law and order state. Laws are applied differently for different people. And people who are known or caught breaking the law are not brought to justice.
    3. Really poor marketing. Sharing data is not the same as sharing information and that is not the same as informing people with the right details.
    4. Govt has shown that they can think big. But not enough, not sustained.
    5. One person CANNOT do everything. Leverage
    Others. Delegate.
