I went to that movie excited to watch Karthik and Trish, came back mesmerized by Chiyaan and Ash. Hats off Haricharan, Ilango and the one and only ARR for yet another gem. This will take some time to forget😭😭

But Karikalan was also in a similar position. It's his duty to kill his family's hereditary enemy. The lyrics of the Chola Chola song at the time of the beheading speak about this. "Chola dynasty is our life. We chant it like a mantra".
Also he was insanely jealous and in a battle frenzy. Both of them essentially struggle with the same problem - love vs duty.
